@stueystu1 i can" agree more - it's the same people who think Netrebko is an opera singer, that Bocelli can sing, it may be the same Met's audience who thinks that Netrebko is better Lucia then Damrau (...i am not making this up, you know) - weird as it is, if you actually make up your mind on quality of voice or singing on 'mere' listening, you are not only crazy, but in a very, VERY small minority
She does push a bit near the end (and I dunno what happened with that "trill"), but I have marveled at Mme. Huang's technical ability and musical artistry for over a decade. And such a gorgeous tone!!
Great quality video - Decent voice, a bit generic and flat at the lower register. I'm certain that she has absolutely no idea what she is singing. There is no story communicated here.
mbb - i think you are talking through your big a.... ;)
she is actually quite 'moffesque' in annunciation and articulation, she sometimes sacrifices a bit of intonation for the sake of 'saying the words' (well, there was only one Moffo) - it can only be done by perfect understanding of the text sung
She is a lovely presence on stage, and has a nice voice. The problem is that her voice is generic, and not well produced. She has a tense, flutterly sound that I don't like.
i don't like her vibrato... sometimes its critical for her intonation, so that it flatters upwarded and not downwarded. Sounds as she doesn't control it properly. And for my taste its also too much vibrato. The high parts are just loud, but not well interpretated.
Pretty woman. The role would fit her nicely. Nevertheless she sings the aria with her light lyric soprano voice almost identical to many of the other contestants. 3/3
She is gorgeous! There is a pretty light spin in the tone, but a bit of strain and spread on top -- is it due to pushing for volume and impact? And alas, no trill. Yet I like her. 3.5/4
Hmmm she was at a Richard Tucker Gala and I don't know the name at all? That seems odd. She does seem to be in character for a concert performance, and I like the voice. 5/5

And the character is cute, but nothing more.

She's exquisite, vocally and physically. Is she still singing?
