I am a HUGE dog lover but this type of lunging and barking is unacceptable and dangerous not just for people but for the dog. The owners need to take more accountability for their dog because there are people out there, case in point the poster who will report it. There are also people who will further antagonize the dog and that may lead to a bite then the dog being put down. This is irresponsible dog ownership. The dog needs exercise and perimiter training.
Its called barrier frustration, dogs that are shut in yards a lot will get frustrated because of the lack of exercise and the fact a wall, chain etc is holding them back. I feel sorry for those dogs, its the owners fault.
@magicalcrazyness I don't feel sorry for the dog, he's allowed to roam free and bark as much as he wants. I feel sorry for the neighbors who have to listen to it.
I bet you dont even have a dog, because they dont like you, and you always wanted one, and you are probably all alone, no family and with nothing better to do.
Get a better hobby :). My dog doesnt spend much time outside, only to go potty, play a little and sunbathe, but when someone approaches the fence she would bark just like that. the problem here is that you are teasing the animals.
Well that is certainly not the case in our area. There are, of course, limits on the amount of "noise pollution" allowed within city limits, but no specific "dog barking" laws enforced. While I do agree that there are irresponsible dog owners out there, I don't feel like the rest of us should be attacked from people like you for it. They ruin it for the rest of us, ex. BSL. My dog is well trained, competes in agility and is a service dog. He should not be labeled as one of your "nuisance dogs"!
I don't know who the rest of you are and why you feel that I'm attacking you. This is MY video!! You can tell by now that I feel strongly that dogs should be trained by their owners.
Actually we do have neighbours about a kilometer away. They are breeders of Bullmastiff's and also understand the nature of a dog bark. I don't claim to be "Dr.Doolittle", though I am very certain I know far more about canine behaviour than you do. I'm also sure of the fact that there is no law prohibiting a dog from barking because number one, that is inhumane because it is a natural behaviour, and number two it would essentially require dogs to have their vocal cords removed to comply.
I'm not sure where you gather your information from, but I work with both vets and animal behaviourists and I can assure you that barking is not the human equivalent of yelling. I would also like to mention that my comments on this video are in response to comments posted on my own video by "greenlightbandit" in which he or she was criticizing my dogs behaviour on our 88 acres. I am a responsible dog owner, and understand the reasons dog bark, unlike some of you less educated people.
Your video doesn't indicate your wealth of property. I suspected that like most people, you have neighbors. I guess I was wrong.
Also, who are you, Dr. Doolittle? You don't know as much as you think about dogs. There are reasons why ALMOST EVERY COUNTY'S MUNICIPAL CODE HAS A LAW MAKING IT ULAWFUL TO ALLOW YOUR DOG TO BARK.
You're barking up the wrong tree if you think you can change my mind about my neighbors or their nuisance barking dogs.
this guy is a little too impassioned about catching dogs barking! lol there must be a more psycho-social explanation to his madness, or at least we should hope so!
my advice, get a set of ear plugs and try and keep yourself from being considered a social predator!
Thanks!! Maybe you want to live next door to one of these nuisance dogs? Or is it yours?
Why should I be expected to suffer this kind of lack of respect people have for their neighbors?? It's against the law. All I am doing is documenting it.
What all the psycho-social mumbo jumbo? I'm tired of all the barking.
Well let me assure you that it is not a specific type of dog that barks at people, as you're implying. Dogs bark, it's the nature of their species. That's the way they communicate. To tell a dog to bark, is to tell a human to not speak, which after listening to your rants, doesn't seem entirely implausible. But I digress...I have and do live around dogs and yes, on many occassions hear them bark but I'm thankful for their alerting me to possible unstable creeps like yourself loooming around!!
The dogs are not barking at creeps; you must be blind or stupid. The dogs bark at nothing and everything. They are too stupid to know from creeps. These stupid videos are just documents of nuisance dogs doing what they do: bark too much.
I don't want to hear the barking, and I don't want to hear you defending careless owners who can't bother to train their dogs.
Wait until you have a noise issue (stereo, airplane, gravel-pit) and then see what kind of response YOU get to your troubles.
No, there's not a specific type of dog that barks, but a specific type of ASSHOLE dog owner that allows their dog to bark. Therein lies the problem- a human one.
Your analogy of barking=speaking is pure idiocy. Barking=yelling in dog communication. We lock up ppl who constantly scream b/c they bug other ppl, but dogs are allowed to roam freely. A normal well adjusted dog does NOT bark 24/7. Barking at an alarm is in a dogs nature, but constant barking is not.
Whao you seriously have mental problems you should seek some help before you end up being a serial killer and then telling everyone the dog told me to kill,,,,,,,SAMMMMMMMMMMMMMM ha ha
I was woken up at 11:30p, 1:15a, 3:30a, & 5:20a by my goddamn owners dogs last night. Let's see how sane you are after a few years of that bullshit. Better yet, send us your address & we'll be glad to blow an airhorn near your house on that schedule. I guarantee you'll be bright & cheery all day!
I don't like when i get barked at 5 in the morning it makes me cranky but i still wouldn't shoot the doggies =) I would go over to them and bark at them too :D
Have you ever considered installing a bark arrest device of sorts nearby. Some work at 25 feet I think. It makes a high pitch punishing noise of some sort when it hears a bark. Humans can't hear it. I don't know if it's effective, but I have considered it once on my previous neighbor's two uber annoying poodles who would protest my presence at every turn.
Why on earth people choose to have these types of dogs is beyond me. They know that their dog is highly annoying or else they total idiot
You idiot. This is not a back yard. This is a front yard. The dog barks at everybody and everything. Do you consider them 'creepers', too?
What problem do you have with a person video taping this nonsense to show the world how dog owners allow their dogs to behave? Do you think they should be given a free pass to let their dogs do as they please?
You don't get it at all. This is a nuisance for which the police will come and cite the owners. I'm just video taping it. You don't seem to like that. What's the problem? You think these owners should be allowed to let their wild dog bark for hours at everone who passes by? Are you just burnt because your neighbors complained about your dog? That wouldn't surprise me.
What makes you think I spend all my time doing this? I only do it when I hear and can find the dogs.
I never stuck my camera over the wall. Also, I'm not strange. You don't know me. I'm just a guy who want some peace and quiet and doesn't like dogs who bark all day long. I'm not the dog provoker. You can't see in the video the people on the other side of the street that the dog is excited by.
How can I know when a dog is a nuisance barker without hunting it down and documenting it? If the behavior repeats, we've got a problem. Otherwise, why make a video?
This is the way that I am dealing with my problem instead of yelling at my neighbors about it. Others do. The project started as a way to learn how to use my video camera and editing software. Sorry that you don't approve of my artistic statement. Good thing you don't run the NEA. Do they even have that, anymore?
Also, I have learned where the noisy dogs are, so that I am able to go where it is peaceful, if I want.
Also, I don't record every dog, but wouldn't it be nice if I could?
Look, you're new to this whole thing. Who are you to judge what is art and what is obsession? I'm trying to make something funny out of something that's a nuisance. At least I'm not fighting back with more noise@!
The definition of nuisance is that it interferes with normal enjoyment of one's home. THAT"S THE PROBLEM! I can't just leave my house every time the neighbor's dog barks; I'd never be at home. You seem to think that I'm out provoking dogs. Why would I do that? I hate the noise
Thank you for this splendid conversation. Your spelling and punctuation set you apart from the usual youTube tards. Maybe someday you will understand the crux of this issue, which is being a good neighbor. That includes not leaving nuisance pets to bark all day long.
I'm not perfect, but you don't hear that at 7am inside my neighbor's house. People aren't walking by my house with video cameras wondering, "What is that racket coming from that house all the time?"
That's all you got? Didn't you mean respect? How much tolerance am I supposed to have for these stupid animals, each one thinks that a child or a bird or the wind is a threat.
You don't know what it's like here. I'm not the only one who doesn't like 6 am wake up barking.
I don't have a lot of tolerance for neighbors who aren't considerate of the people they live around. Their public display of poor pet care is now public record for the world to witness. How do you like that?
That's what I expect from you emos. "It's not my fault, I didn't know." Ignorance of the law is not a valid excuse for breaking it, you know that.
You emos spend too much time thinking about your own pity and don't realize that there's a whole world out there trying to get along despite you.
If you had a dog, after this dialogue, I expect that it would end up on my youTube channel, barking away in distress as you cut your wrists in the shower. At least someone heard it and came by.
"I still find it strange behavior if someone has over 100 videos of his neighborhood dogs."
That's a lot of dogs, isn't it. I was surprised when I passed 20. Then 50. NRHSY, I live in a quiet town where almost everyone has a dog. There are 2000 in a town of 13000. That's 15%. Not all dog owners here let their dogs bark all day long. Some do. I have a problem with that, and I'm not the only one.
You think I could find somewhere to move without dog barking?
Thanks. I enjoy the benefits of owning my own home in a nice town. Our quality of life is degraded by these thoughtless pet owners. I refuse to change my life just to get away from some stupid dogs and their stupid owners.
We already have regulations here regarding dogs. You don't need to live in a condo for that. Nuisance barking is not allowed. Just like a party disturbance, you call the police. Any time of day. They deal with it.
It's not against the law, and they do call. Usually when someone views a stranger videoing their barking dog they bring it inside. That's the desired result.
You're a person not plagued by barking. You can't sit in your own home and enjoy peace and nothing in your home drowns it out. You can't sit out in your own yard in peace. You can't get the dog owners to understand. Animal control can't help much because they're overrun with the same and other problems that careless, neglectful pet owners create. At least we can laugh about it in some way. Thanks, greenlightbandit.

Well, you're wrong. Google "municipal code". Pick a county at random and search term: bark.
You will find plenty of laws. They don't de-bark the dogs, they fine the owners or take and destroy the nuisance dogs. That's if you're lucky.
