I was at Oxford and I loved it (the Birmingham Shakespeare Institute before that), but there's nothing at all wrong with Nottingham! Beautiful setting and a well-respected university, including (as far as I know, and realizing you're in Law), the English department. Very best in your studies, formal and informal!
Hmm... Quel plaisir d'entendre une voix aussi mélodieuse alliée à un accent d'une grande noblesse, ajoutons à cela un goût culturel de grande qualité.
Your sweet melodious voice is like honey from the bees, dew on the grass on a crisp spring morn', carressing my earlobes with velvety goodness. I was so moved I peed a little.
I read some oeuvres of Shakespeare in French many years ago, and I wished some day I could do it in English. It's done for the first 30 sonnets and I feel really lucky because I can listen to what I'm reading. Let me tell you, Bertram, that your voice is so magic that it makes me love more and more what I'm reading. Thank you!
Enjoyed your introduction very much. Love the voice -- kind of reminds me of an uncle of mine who lives in the UK -- he would love to recite The Green Eye of the Little Yellow God. How about reciting that for me some time? Good luck with the studies.
i've been emphatically listening to the 154 sonnets you are currently recording and i wish you much luck with your task, i would also urge you to consider narrating 'war and peace' by tolstoy as this, i think would sound enchanting in your 'pure velvet' voice.
Bertie, I beg you to consider pursuing a career in Radio, as you hinted at - your distinguished accent and deep tone is pure velvet! I must admit I have watched this video several times for relaxational purposes...! You would make an utterly charming presenter.
I don't know how it would tickle you given the periods of classical music you specify, but in your clear passion for poetry and classical music you may be interested in viewing relations between French Symbolist poets and their contemporary composers, in particular I think of Baudelaire-Wagner and Mallarmé-Debussy. I should imagine the former would be more to your tastes, up to you, a new avenue to explore!
Thank you for you recommendation! - it would most certainly be an interesting avenue to explore!
In 2006, I briefly explored late-romantic French poetry in conjunction with late-romantic music. I am, of course, referring to 'Apres un Reve' - a lyrical poem by Romain Bussine combined with the mastery of Gabriel Faure.
I have not yet explored French Symbolist poetry, but I have enjoyed other symbolists like Edgar Allen Poe and William Blake.
It is relatively difficult to understand you - I deduce that you must be using "Google Language tools" to translate from Korean into English. Nevertheless, I will try. :)
Sonnet usually means poem of 14 lines in a special structure, nevertheless, it can be called a "short poem". I support your motives to learn. After all, my videos are meant to be educational as well as pleasurable.
Can check on wikipedia but what is and about 104 sonnets. Is this short poet? and what it contains. I majored in econmics and minor in phiposophy in Seoul yet ignorant in literature and would learn Shakespeare?

I think you made a good choice on wanting to recite William Shakespeare's sonnets. You have the right voice for it, and I love it. :)

Thank you, Zonaverdi, for your flattering comments.
I am honoured to be instrumental in inducing relaxation.
I still wish to pursue a career in radio and your commentary has helped to fortify that wish.
Kind Regards,

Hi there,
It is relatively difficult to understand you - I deduce that you must be using "Google Language tools" to translate from Korean into English. Nevertheless, I will try. :)

Oh, and by the way, it is 154 sonnets.
Once again, thank you for your
interest.

Please excuse the 'repeat glitch' at 1:18 - Technology is not infallible- and neither is our usage of it! Thank you
