Tiger made Furby? Completely forgot that. I remember having tons of these and my football game looking green. I can only imagine how many batteries I burned with these.
Good old Tiger eh. God. Im lucky/unlucky enough to own a r-zone and a game.com.....god knows why. Theres a upgraded front lit version of the game.com too, ill get it at some point though I dont know why. How the hell did they get the lisence for Resident evil 2 on that! There was a scrapped MGS game on it too,....just imagine. Some of the lcd's are so expensive now too, Snakes revenge and Castlevania are two on my list though!
@8comicbooknerd9 Oh i would like to see that upgraded front lit version then, as the screen is just awful to use. If the screen had been as good as the game boy or game gear it would have been, lets just say a lot better lol
I'm rather curious on something after watching this. How can I tell how rare one of the Tiger Games are? I have looked all around the internet but am having a hard time getting the info I need. Thank you
@PWheat23 yeah those were the days. and now I know how my parents must have felt trying to keep up with what toys we were into when it comes to buying for my nephew and niece.
Man I remember getting the Talkboy one Christmas back in the 90s and remember actually recording Johnny Bravo episodes on tape and listening to them in bed before I got up to watch Power Rangers Turbo early in the morning This is actually true! Do not know what happened to it and just wound up lost somehow.
Great video once again and look forward to the series you will be doing.
Really looking forward to this series, Tiger are a fantastic company with some great products in their history. I almost wet myself with joy when i say that talkboy! I remember my sister had a baby furby and the "adult" ones would dance for it and try to entertain it
Excellent overview of the Tiger Electronic's history and products. You certainly know your stuff James.
Are you still doing those interview videso with other YouTubers? If you are, I would be interested if you would have me. Or perhaps in the new year I'm going to look into creating a gaming podcast, so if you wanted you could either be a guest or a host on the show. Though I need to get it all set-up and everything first but I thought you may be interested.
I waiting for when the furby would interrupt you while you was talking, how many times did you have to edit it, it's quite funny because I knew it would say something, great video.
@ArcadeMameMachine Haha yeah as soon as I turned him back on from the OFF position I knew myself things could go pair shaped and in fact at one point he sang Twinkle Twinkle Little Star in all sorts of different languages I uploaded that outtake to my Facebook page.
loved the juggling, great video as always! (would like to point out your one of the few youtubes that never seems to get a dislike!) keep up the good work!
Great video man. I think Tiger is severely overlooked by gamers but I think it should be recognized and appreciated for its contributions. Everybody played these LCD handhelds in the 80s and 90s and while there video game consoles weren't that well received they still created some great toys that I fondly remember.
I think Tiger products sold well because it gave parents a cheap alternative to buying actual things. Instead of buying an actual computer that was useful for the family, why not buy a Tiger Learning Computer that can tell you what the cow says. Or instead of any of the game consoles, just get the little brat a Tiger TMNT game because it's the same thing, who gives a fuck.
A really good video tribute but I hate all Tiger products, they were so depressing and not fun. At least Nintendo's Game and Watch games were fun to play despite their limitations. I guess I was just disappointed about my friends all having NES consoles and I was stuck with a few junky LCD games.
I remember the Talkboy in Home Alone 2, I really have to question my motives for wanting that POS. Of course Furby was a nightmarish abomination. Tiger was great at making kids want garbage for xmas.
@paulspydar That was actually Tiger Telematics. That company actually doesn't exist anymore dueto the multiple problems that occured with the CEO who was linked to the Swedish mafia.
Great video bro! Loved the paperboy skit at 3:19!!! People went absolutley crazy over the Firby! Ur pretty good at juggling as well! I totally remember the talkboy, I wanted one so bad and when I finally got one, i played with it for weeks before I got it taken away by one my my teachers and my parents wouldnt give it back : *( Excellent vid brother!
@PWheat23 So did you never get it back ? I always wanted one at the time, I remember my cousin getting it for Christmas and I never got the chance to have a go :(. Yeah the Furby craze was mental it was as bad as the craze over Toy Story figures although I got to say I wouldn't have minded some of those :O
@MetalJesusRocks Well thank you! this has been a project I have been wanting to do for such a long time and it's great to get back to the handheld's and tabletops for a change.
