this song was perfect for the scene it was in the thing. i absolutly loved it. i like how in the trailer this song played when it showed the empty bloody hallways kinda like in dead space with the twinkle twinlke little star. just perfect :]
When my friend and i was watching the movie and whenever there was a scene where nothing was happening, he'd turn to me and start singing the song. Funny as hell.
This song was the norwegian contribution for the Eurovision Song Contest in 1980. The song however is not only in norwegian, but in sami. Which is the language of the Sami people, which is the indigenous people in Norway. There is also Sami people living far north in Sweden, Finland and Russia. The song is performed by Sverre Kjelsberg and sung by Mattis Hætta. The song was a political statement against a damproject in Norway which treatened the local wildlife and environment.
One of the actors in the movie, Stig Henrik Hoff later stated in the media that this song was put in the movie as a joke between the norwegian actors. Samid Ædnan has often been ridiculed in Norway as one of the worst contributions to the Eurovision Song Contest and it is often sung in a jokingly way.
