Nice video and thank you for your comments on mine. The 5826 was trailing on our NCOL train, with the 7018 added when they decided to run NS 32 on the rear.
@ARandall70 Thanks man glad you liked it! It was funny I was wondering why your video looked like you were filming at the floor of the engine, now I see that it was in fact the high hood that gave that optical illusion. That must've been really sweet!
is there a chance that you could post up the whole trip? to be able to see everything on all 3 lines would be awesome! and i might try and model this in n-scale in the future lol
@bbobs327 Unfortunately I don't have much more than what is seen on this. I video taped when I could, but for the most part I really just enjoyed the trip. What was filmed in this video is most of the "hot spots" on the Lehigh Line and Port Reading Secondary. The Chemical Coast I didn't take much video of because there really wasn't much to see with the exception of the BNSF power. Anyway I hope what I have in this video will be enough! Thanks for checking it out!
This is really the best cab ride video I've ever seen. It was nice that you got to see the Chemical Coast Line from an angle where no one but the train crew can see. That speical went in a complete circle didn't it. Glad you were able to ride this.
@bbobs327 While they were in the NYC area for a conference, I had hosted a group of system wide Norfolk Southern Police officials to a tour of the WTC site. Their way of saying thank you was to grant me a ride on the OLS Special. And as I had previously pointed out, permission was recieved from NS supervisors, and all FRA regulations were complied with.
This is some really cool footage as few of us get a chance like this. I love the cab chatter as bits of information are tossed about among the occupants. The various engines caught near the end such as the ex- Conrail are all plus's in this video. The gutted passenger car is a nice moment of interest as well. Seeing the train from the outside is the definite ''clincher'' to this video presentation. Way cool! Take care....
@SusQ45 Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Inside the cab is actually a very dynamic environment contrary to what I originally thought. The real treat in terms of power was a UP SD70M which was on the point of an intermodal (not in this video) and two BNSF units that were on an ethanol train. I thought the outside shot would be a nice way to end it, I'm glad you feel the same.
Wow lucky man! People don't get cabride offers that often period, never mind the fact it was from the OLS special. This is definitely being added to my favorites.
Wish I could be invited to something like this. Someday, someday. This is quite incredible, a cab ride on the Lehigh Line, something you don't see much of.
@KyleVideoDesigns Thanks man! I was going there and was psyched I was actually invited on the train, when they told me we could ride in the cab I was speechless.
@CSXACe I agree! I thought it was amazing when I was in Conrail GP #3025 and got to actually drive it and blow the horn. Although, that was before railroad security was as strict as it is now. One of the coolest feelings =)
wow not cool. First you tell us to be quiet in your video, you trespass on the main line bound brook to get a better shot which is illegal. You clearly do not deserve this at all.
@trainmaster101 Who are you to tell me I don't deserve this? I asked you to be quiet because you were talking and the train was coming, not a big deal. There were NS employees that came in and out of that area that morning and not once did they tell me I was trespassing, also there is no sign posted before you walk off the station platform saying that you are trespassing. I have NEVER gotten in trouble for being there and filming there so I honestly don't know what you are talking about.
@trainmaster101 Being quiet for someone taking a video should be done just out of respect; a person who is familiar with videoing such as yourself should know that. Who are you to tell someone they don't deserve a cab ride. Anger is no way to handle your envy. We're all railfans, we all share the same hobby and we all share the same cause. You are no more entitled than you, I or CSXACe. And I can say that from experience knowing him as a friend. Railfans like you disappoint me.
