@SirVaular I have the PC. It doesnt run Lion OSX. But I also have macbookpro and you cant buy same laptop for half the price. I saw those ugly asian plastic monsters, I deserve better.
I enjoyed the documentary, although I expected it to be more detailed at the last phase (processors, Intel, AMD, Cyrix, 386,486, Pentium, Athlon) also the first OSes such as DOS, Windows, Unix, OS/2. These would be very very interesting.
Amazing that Microsoft and Bill Gates don't rate a mention at all in the whole documentary, except for a small scene showing Windows on the screen. (never mind, hate PCs anyway)
Thank you very much for uploading such a smashing documentary :) I'll use it for teaching my English applied to computing students. Greetings from El Salvador...The english accent is the best :)
What idiot boy Kapor neglects: using the "confusing symbols" a competent programmer can automate the entry of the commands using scripts, in essence her own, or the end user's own, environment. We wouldn't have had to put up with Windows.
@spinoza1111 Without Windows I can tell you now that the PC industry would be nowhere near as large as it is today. What do you have against windows anyway? And why the hell would you even consider solely using command line interfaces? The general public would never have jumped onto the PC bandwagon nearly as much without windows.
@rustygates The "general public" never "jumped on the PC bandwagon". It was given a computer at work or bought a computer to accomplish a task. It was never told that above all, a computer is a machine for following instructions and for this reason was moronized and brutalized by several generations of unprincipled software creators.
@spinoza1111 Are you saying that PC's would be better off without GUI's? If you are then i'm not sure what to think of you. I myself have never. I repeat. never had a problem with Windows and there has always been other software to replace it if you never liked it. Especially the Macs and the Apple OS. Theres also open source OS's like Linux...explain how exactly computers were "moronized and brutalized by generations of software creators" please.

@shebotnov well since apples stole it from xerox....
and microsoft offered it to everyone not only the people who bought a apple .

They should play this kind of stuff in more High Schools. This would spark the minds of many MANY teens and their creativity would skyrocket.

If you're under 20, you can thank the Apple Macintosh for your inability to type. That and cell phones.
But you wanna know a secret? Windows and icons may be easier, but terminals and typing are faster by far.
If you can type, that is.
