I love this music and feel it would go great with a video I am currently working on about the Birth of the Legion. I was wondering what sites would have this exact version. The ones that I come across have the American version at 120 beats but it sounds a lot better at 88. I am also looking for one with a creative commons license. Do you know where I can go to meet this criteria?
I love the clip of French Foreign Legion Military Tattoo 2010. It's great from beginning to end. I think I've viewed it probably more than 20 times in the last few weeks. Just awesome (!!) Excellent performance, showmanship and presence. Some of the music reminds me of Paso dobles from Spain....I know one piece is obviously a Bolero, the others I believe have some German influence.
Why "The Blood Sausage" of all things? Do they still dress this way during winter ceremonies? jackets with the shoulderboards with fringes and the long gloves with gauntlets? They have always looked sharp throughout history. March on Kepi Bianc(!!)
@flojogrande The uniform has changed, but the gloves ,the epaulettes d'tradition and the kepi blanc are still in use today.Le boudin colloquially meant the gear (rolled up in a red blanket) that used to top the backpacks of Legionnaires.
@kepiblancrm - I knew their had to be a good reason. This is one that makes very good sense. Just like Birth Control glasses or BC's in the U. S. military. Militaries and different branches have their own slang and lingo. It's truely it's own culture. Thanks for the reply. I really enjoy the music of the legion and the chants. I almost wish our military had something similar but I guess we can't all be the same. That's what makes the Legion ...The Legion and quite unique.
