  • They used this song in a Dutch commercial wich announced that 2 bankjs would merge. It was just before the economical downfall, and thus this song makes me thinks of better times, when I still had enough money to live a higer standard..

  • good

  • the days when norris green used to be quiet game of footy in the park now i cant even walk past it without getting battered abused stabbed or shot its a joke

  • love this song!

    Brazil. \,,/

  • You all, listen to this English song! I´m from Finland and even I with (polarbears, :D) love this song. No matter of your religion, everyone is important and loveable. <3

  • Back in the dizay

  • É um Clássico ...

  • nomans land. xmas. jumpers for goalposts. peace

  • anyone...what year was this released??? 90 / 91?

  • @tripptytripper

The original was released on November 26, 1990. Those were the days I can't believe this was over 21 years ago.

  • @jpgee19 tell me about it, i can remember when i found out Kurt Cobain had died, remember exactly where i was...sooooo long ago, yet not...

  • Better quality than the official channel version

  • Massive tune.ENGLAND.<3

  • 1 dislike. Shows how much of a tune this is.

  • sick song

  • Hmmm wolko75 Gay people are tolerated in Holland. Maybe it's something for U ?

  • @ lakey180 and tufty

Screw you left activists, I'd rather live in the USA than in Holland. A stupid country that is too tolerant, especially to some of your "foreign" friends.

I wish I could say it also: Proud to be an American!

  • shut up...

  • lol

  • ja met ING en de Postbank

  • lekker!

  • prachtige plaat !

  • I was 11. Tears in my eyes. Good to remember. I loved this song.

  • lakey180 you are totally right!have u thought of a career in politics i do like barack obama but wel av to wait and see george bush should be on death row now for mass murder!

  • tuffey thanks .blair and bush ..i dont get it with these two.over eight years they were in power and in zimbawe millions died .and they say there christians.how do they sleep at night knowing what was going on .we all seen it on t.v. what was going on but we did fuckall to help ... why?

  • Are you two left activists? If you want bush on death row you are just as evil as you say he is. I agreed with the iraq policy, get oil and crush the terrorists. I still don't get why they dind't nuke iraq, afghanistan and iran.

And Zimbabwe? Why do we always have to be the ones handling all the problems those africans give. Let them sort it out themselves, we needed centuries of war to become what we are now. Together with China and the USA, Europe is a world power. And we owe it all to oursel

  • High quality audio. Apsolute classic, what more can I say?

  • The lyrics are great, so the music is.

  • I listened to that song right after I was at an anatomical institute for the very first time. The deep impressions from there mixed up with the life-affirming essence of the (true) story this song tells - it resulted in even more respect for the mysterious thing we call life. Still get that feeling whenever I listen to it. ^^

  • all together now in no mans land!

  • yea trenches mentioned in song brill song also brill meaning and brill again released as a england footy song !!

  • VIVA L-LABOURRR!!!! HAHAHAHA

  • The Christmas truce of 1914 was the day that WW1 should've and could've ended, had the British high command not been so f*cking up themselves and bureaucratic!! Madness and insanity overuled humanity and common sense. An absolute tragedy!!

  • What kind of twat would give you the thumbs down for such a great comment???

  • How do you mean??

  • You can't see it?

  • Oh yeah! I see what you mean now! Well....it was obviously some twat that doesn't apreciate what those guys in the trenches did. I think my original comment was sodding gospel!

  • I'd love to see "twat" in the trenches.

    Serve the prick right.

  • He'd breakdown and cry and end up being shot for being the gutless wimp he is!!

  • agree .fuckalls changed ..blair and bush have gone .come forward brown and obama .same view different faces .we tried to win in afganistan when we ruled the world, russia tried it when they was a super power ,america tried vietnam and got fuked off .you cant fight what you cant see .sending them poor soldiers to iraq. afganistan. is fuckin murder .how blair and bush sleep at night is beyond me.

  • But this song reminds me of the memorys of football history

  • This song was based on the trench war in belgium , i think it was christmas or new year when the german and british decided to have a football match to celebrate it. Its true no joke my history teacher told me and he had a photo to proove it and everything

  • yeh it is to do wid the trenches, the line 'no mans land' relates to it

  • Spot on song reminds me of docs on the somme and stuff but also getting drunk at naf nightclubs, happy days

  • hard to listen to this an not sing the everton song in my head

  • Wow, great song makes you think of old times, wow.

  • yo dudes wats the background music the piano won forgot what its called?

  • I think it's about when the Germans and British stopped fighting to play football on Christmas.

  • one big no mans land means there is no such thing as an owner. So no fighting over it.

  • Classic.

  • A true modern classic! People will listen to this song and still love it even 50 years from now. A great message of unity and finding happiness in dark times.

  • I'm not one to get all emotional about things, but this song touches me every time I hear it! Thanks for posting it and giving me the opportunity of listening again.

  • this reminds me of goin down the park to play footie with ma mates in london. excellent song!

  • is that the original cover for this single?

coz if it is i cant believe how much tennant/lowe copied this in their song 'go west'

the design of the clothing and even the chords

for both songs are the same if you try singin go west over the top of this. Total fraud.

    This song is much nicer.

Good memories of better times, circa 1990

  • The Farm - an underrated band - seeing them live in Liverpool recently was absolutely brilliant!

  • nice memories..

  • just brilliant !

  • Anybody actually listened to the words to this - I never realised the essence of their story before - just got hooked on the chorus - what a message and hear we are 100-years later or near as dammit and stil lit could apply
