  • Is there anywhere online that I can watch this film with english subtitles???

  • This is a great ending to the movie. It completely makes the film end on a lighter note, which I think i t needs.

And I am amazed but the first time I saw this, I somehow was able to pick Hajid's son and Pierrot out of the crowd, now that I see this again, I have no clue how I was able to do it.

The fact that their son's are talking to each other is a nice way to end the movie, thanks for the upload.

  • at 7:26 a man walks across the scene(from left to right), I believe that is the father. Same hair, same build, same coat. It's looks as if maybe he is following Majid's son....

  • I like the idea that this last shot...could be another tape being made or watched...it would make a good bookend to this film...seeing as though we started by watching a tape during the opening credits.

I like the way this closing scene comes on the back of Georges attempting to block it all out.

its this kind of end that makes this film so engrossing and appealing...although ultimately there is no total understanding to be gained from the maker himself...which was obviously by design.

  • Sorry about the multiple posts, the page wasn't loading properly.

  • Such a clever ending. Haneke makes the spectator earn their understanding of it through active participation, rather than mindlessly feeding them it. Great film, thanks for the upload.

  • @MilesHackett I think that part of it is also that he lets us reflect on the images when he shows us a shot that is 3 minutes long. The process of reading his films is different for everyone, where someone can reflect what he has seen in the movies thus far, which is probably Critic's preferred reading, however I find myself inclined to think back on my own experiences when these shots come up
