0.0 is boring.... lowsec is boring. There are no HUGE pvp battles like youtube, there is NOTHING as much as balanced in the game. I have been playing eve for quite a long time now HOPING they would fix pvp. I love how people try and say it's a pvp game, when clearly...its a pve game WANTING to be a pvp game HOPING. Basically for pve, everything except a Tengu or Legion sucks balls.... : ( and you MUST train for at LEAST 8 months to get that. Well...if you wanna be good with them

I am a director in a succesfull corp with my friends in a big alliance. I have taken part in large fleet pvp combat, we have set up several pos's in wh space,I can solo lev 4's easaly in my Maelstrom Battleship and i can also fly tech 3's. Trading is time consuming and requires lots of effort, and player interaction is no different to any other mmo. What am i missing?
so when the heck will they implement this customization in the game? Same thing with the whole "walking in stations"... It looks so cool, but it never comes!
@bummer6 walking in stations would take an entire new engine, making eve probably twice its current size. this is a ridiculous amount of work, and although i want it as bad as you do, we'll just have to wait.

On serious ops we get about 15 hulks, an Orca, a hauler, and a rorqual to compress it. Unless we have a POS nearby that we can haul the stuff to. Then the rorq will just compress it later.
no. if you watch the vid you can see that tech 3 ships are made out of 5 components meaning that for 1 race there are over 15,000 combinations of " different ships". its not like tech 2 where it is just a better version of another ship. its a completely new way of manufacturing ships. so no you cant "upgrade" your hulk. sorry. just be happy with your 62,500 new ships :P

Yeah dude, we love ours like crazy. Got it holding 120k m/3 last I checked. Enough Hulks to keep that near filled at all times with my 32k hauler running back between station and Orca constantly on ops.
We used 8 Hulks the Orca and me as a hauler in the upgraded Mastodon as hauler last I participated in. We serious about our ops lol, given how much that Orca set us back.

thats cool if you can personalize ships, the sections should also add different turret/missile slots, BUT, I just hope that the ships don't require insane amounts of skill lvl or ISK to purchase and fly.
Think about it, a t2 Heavy assault cruiser can cost 85m for just the ship, not counting rigs or t2 modules or drones and insurance. im gussing t3 ships (cruisers for example) would cost 200m for just the ship. No idea if this will bring t3 modules into existence.. also im not sure but im afraid gallente ships will end up looking like random twists of play dough instead of warships
it's fair enough if a significant amount of isk and training is needed before you can fly tech 3. It's meant to be badass, and you shouldn't be able to fast track to tech 3.
Eve is a trully awsome game, i can agree with some people thinking that its really boring, but you cant call a game shit just becauce you personaly dont like it. i dont play Eve, i dont because i wont be able to stop playing it.
actually I never played any mmo. Tried EVE and found it sucked. It's not my cup of tea, I want more action. The combat in eve is ok, but imo it just takes too long to get to the fight. Therefore I found it boring.

Well, it depends on how long you tried the game for, and whether or not you got into the right corp. If you were in a little mining corp, then yes, combat would be slow or nonexistant. I suggest trying the game again, but this time join a pvp or pirate corp. You'll have tons of combat and even more fun.
If you need instant action and instant gratification, Eve is not for you. Action in Eve is the most stressful I've seen on a game, because you really have something to lose, and something to win. I used to like fps, I still do sometimes, but when the only thing you win is a kill ratio, you quickly get bored.
Besides this, anyway, Eve is also about patience, responsibilities, planning, politics, teamplay, short and long-term strategy. It does not suit everyone, but it doesn't mean it sucks.
Did I ever said in my post that it sucks? No, read my 11 words long post and you will find that I stated that eve is boring, and as far as I know, boring does not equal something that sucks.

Well, the purpose of a game is to be entertaining, saying -it's your words- that the whole game are boring because travels take ages sounds kinda like "it sucks". I was only trying to explain why the game is not about traveling, but hide innumerable qualities that makes it fun. ;)

These is a section of the population that still like the old ships, and to be honest, this just adds a new feel for the game. I say worry about maxing your basic skills, shield, armor, guns and let see what happens 3 1/2 months from now. I'm working towards a carrier and trying to fit it the way battleclinc and the public at battleclinic see it being fit properly. That is 64 days for me. But during that process I will have many other skills that will allow me to get a jump on other ships.
how the hell did you come to that conclusion? T3 ships wont be suicide ganking shit, if their cost is presumably more than t2, i can tell you that. We dont even know what sizes these ships are going to be, so bs's tanking concord? how? And Jihadswarm everywhere? they'll use t1 bs's to suicide your miners, as always.
i quit the game because i found myself becoming addicted. As far as i can see now, ive shrugged that addiction off, regardless ill be a little cautious about going back to it however.
So the ships that were already in the game will stay in the game but every player with a skill to do this can make his own ship that means that EVE online weill be full of beautiful and very strange ships "faints(again)"
wrong. T3 is not replacing anything, we can still fly/buy/produce/sell all ships currently available. Nowhere did they say that this was replacing anything hence T3.
And thepsion5 has probably got it right with the training, and T3 isnt going to be to T2 what T2 is to T1

i thought t3 would be uber t2 ships e.g. a super assault frigate, but this is going to small scale pvp, its going to be the group with the biggest best ships who are going to win, not down to tactics
everyone needs to remember this is TECH THREE. It will be expensive and very skill intensive. So everyone saying "I want a new ship for my 6 month old guy" is pretty boned.

Both, if you get into the game enough and make enough isk you can buy in game items called PLEX that add 30 gametime days to your account.
Though to get to that point will probably take a few months.
Otherwise the game is $14.99 a month.

No this new customisable ship design only applies to the T3 strategic cruisers that will be available in March when the Apocrypha expansion hits
The gist of it is. Through exploration you find new systems through wormholes and retreive these modules which you can then attach to a set hull.
These new ships are actually now available on the test server. However only the Caldari and Gallente one are currently modelled and skinned

actually I never played any mmo. Tried EVE and found it sucked. It's not my cup of tea, I want more action. The combat in eve is ok, but imo it just takes too long to get to the fight. Therefore I found it boring.
I'll stick with fps games.
(btw I hope my previous comment gets at least 6 thumbs down, I'd like to prove a point)

Well, it depends on how long you tried the game for, and whether or not you got into the right corp. If you were in a little mining corp, then yes, combat would be slow or nonexistant. I suggest trying the game again, but this time join a pvp or pirate corp. You'll have tons of combat and even more fun.

If you need instant action and instant gratification, Eve is not for you. Action in Eve is the most stressful I've seen on a game, because you really have something to lose, and something to win. I used to like fps, I still do sometimes, but when the only thing you win is a kill ratio, you quickly get bored.
Besides this, anyway, Eve is also about patience, responsibilities, planning, politics, teamplay, short and long-term strategy. It does not suit everyone, but it doesn't mean it sucks.

Did I ever said in my post that it sucks? No, read my 11 words long post and you will find that I stated that eve is boring, and as far as I know, boring does not equal something that sucks.

Well, the purpose of a game is to be entertaining, saying -it's your words- that the whole game are boring because travels take ages sounds kinda like "it sucks". I was only trying to explain why the game is not about traveling, but hide innumerable qualities that makes it fun. ;)

Some people have a low tolerance for CCPs "milk as much money as they can" style of game design.
The game is slow burn, even CCP says so. And yes its one of the few games where I actually see people right "Im bored" in chat.
There you go. Btw Gank playing WoW isn't an insult anymore than playing eve makes you cool. Its a interent spaceship game ffs, your a dork just like the rest of us (an asocial dork).

These is a section of the population that still like the old ships, and to be honest, this just adds a new feel for the game. I say worry about maxing your basic skills, shield, armor, guns and let see what happens 3 1/2 months from now. I'm working towards a carrier and trying to fit it the way battleclinc and the public at battleclinic see it being fit properly. That is 64 days for me. But during that process I will have many other skills that will allow me to get a jump on other ships.

how the hell did you come to that conclusion? T3 ships wont be suicide ganking shit, if their cost is presumably more than t2, i can tell you that. We dont even know what sizes these ships are going to be, so bs's tanking concord? how? And Jihadswarm everywhere? they'll use t1 bs's to suicide your miners, as always.

i quit the game because i found myself becoming addicted. As far as i can see now, ive shrugged that addiction off, regardless ill be a little cautious about going back to it however.

So the ships that were already in the game will stay in the game but every player with a skill to do this can make his own ship that means that EVE online weill be full of beautiful and very strange ships "faints(again)"

wrong. T3 is not replacing anything, we can still fly/buy/produce/sell all ships currently available. Nowhere did they say that this was replacing anything hence T3.
And thepsion5 has probably got it right with the training, and T3 isnt going to be to T2 what T2 is to T1

Considering how long it takes to train for a HAC or Marauder, I don't expect t3 to require less SP...
Would be interesting to find out what base-ships are they using(Cruiser/BC/BS) as I don't have em all at lvl 5 yet :(

Well getting into an AF is like.. 6 or 7 weeks. So a tech III frig should only be 3-4 months.
Also, it may have varied skill reqs depending on what components you want to use. Worse ones will need less SP

You guys are thinking too linearly. T3 ships aren't going to be to T2 what T2 is to T1.
I'm guessing it'll require whatever racial ship trained to level 5 (like T2 ships) and then something else entirely.

i thought t3 would be uber t2 ships e.g. a super assault frigate, but this is going to small scale pvp, its going to be the group with the biggest best ships who are going to win, not down to tactics
