God never created two similar faces and also similar voice.....no doubt Rafi Sahib was exceptional but praise this guy who is just giving tribute to that legendary singer.so far many people tried to copy him but no one could sing better then Sonu Nigam.
just awesome!!! plz stop criticizing...specially if u have a chance to do that to ur boss....hehe....anyways these guys have put in a lot of effort and effort should always be appreciated...can u imagine a bunch of desis taking this effort let's say for a spanish song....and do u think they will be even close...answer me soul searcher wtc175.....and if u can better it....then plz go ahead and do it...
This was one of the best shows ever. There might be some glitches but we must appreciate the effort and riyaz that these artists have put in to learn the cross cultural compositions. hats off to CBSO,Sonu and long live Rafi saab's legendary songs.
a wonderful programme. wish i had been there to hear it live. Music has no boundaries and the music of India will live on forever. tthanks for taking the effort to post this entire program.

The orchestration was poor. They really needed film industry percussionists to bring the whole thing to life! The orchestra played 'parrot fashion' without the inner soul that an Indian orchestra would have provided - and instead of 75 piece - you'd only have needed a 35 piece orchestra and ended up with a better product. Nice experiment - but failed. Listen to Lata with Wren Orchestra (+ Indian percussion) which is vastly superior. Sonu is not bad - but Mangal Singh is probably better
Firstly, Great work Mr. Farrukhali...And thank you very much, without your work; we would've missed a great opportunity.
Secondly, CBSO, WOW!! Hats off to you. You have managed to bring back Shankar Jaikishan and Laxmikant Pyarelal to life. Big three applause to all 75 artists...
Thirdly, Sonu has tried his best to match Rafisaab. Ive heard lots of people trying to match and imitate Md Rafi, but in vain. Mr. Sonu, I think you are number one in that hitlist. As most comments say, no one can match Md. Rafi. But, Sonu has managed to come a bit close to that legends melodious voice.
Well done all of you. Great job to bring out once again some of Rafisaabs ever green songs
Bollywood and a Western symphony ???? why not ? This is the magic of India whose composers were so awesome that they knew no boundaries. This is the potential of Indian composers and India, or Bharat to be accurte.
Sonu Nigam has come up a long way.. and nw he is one of the greatest singers alive... m sure he will alwayz be in hearts of people, like Rafi saab today is...

He's still not even close to my favorite singer, but the program was interesting nonetheless. The orchestra did great considering the circumstances. Thanks for the upload

i agree we cant compare this performance with rafi saab but consider facts:-
1) Orchestra was fast n sounding bit western, without tabla,
2) We cant compare recorded songs with live performances
3) By singing 10 songs in 10 minutes u cant generate full feelings
3) We hav heard mohd. rafi's voice to these songs since child hood can't digest new voice
4) Yes he is the only one who has calibre to sing mohd. Rafi's songs , see old sare gama clips or search yaad-e-rafi , kal aaj kal album
