  • Midjets and mr moms

  • hey, great video i love all your video's they have great info. i am thinking of getting one of these as i just became a dad 5 months ago, and with kids growing up fast he'll be shootin before i know it. also would this make a good camping gun?, we camp out in the woods during the summer and would like a gun that is short and handy for squirrels and such for the dinner pot. thanks again for making great video's

  • If you conferderates had armed their cavalry with that cricket rifle. The union would be defending itself from a southern empire!

  • My little brother doesent have a gun loving father, his dads not anti gun but doesent shoot often so luckily I get to teach him to shoot.

Im lookin in to getting him a 22. this might be a good choice.

Cant wait till his 7th birthday!

  • how old do you have to get on of these in NV

  • Been a subscriber for some time and just want you to know that as a result of this video last week I bought my 6 year old daughter a blue laminate stock and blued barrel crickett single shot..she has been raised around guns her whole life...we are a hunting family..we got it today in the mail and sighted it in on our property.. we shot 50 rounds of CB long CCI and she loved it...thanks for a great recomendation...Cape Breton, Nova Scotia supports the TNP :)

  • I just bought my 7 year old neice a cricket for Christmas, but I don't know if I can wait.

  • I love the original Crickett. Just well made.

  • Mr. Mom 0_O

  • ahh the 1022 thats the gun i learned on by my father and i intend to use the very same gun to teach my kids to shoot someday

  • I remember learn to shoot with a Remington single shot shot.

Funest gun I have ever shot.

  • I first learned to shoot with an .22 air rifle, because gun laws are really strict in my country. However, I shot with a .22 LR rifle and a Colt .45 auto when I lived in the US.

  • Crrection to my comment below this one: the Rouge River Rifle Company.

  • I have an old very rare Rouge Rifle Company .22 cal single shot, same thing as the cricket because the cricket copied it exactly. The Rouge Rifle Company was formed by two brothers. One of them died, so the one that survived went off to make the cricket. The name of the rifle I have is called the "Chipmunk". It was my first gun.

  • I grew up on a single shot after 4 years i got a bolt action then 3 years later i got a semi ruger 10/22. My father re married and her son got a bolt action for his first gun and threq a fit becuase he didnt get a semi auto like mine!

  • a single shot .22 bolt rifle, its nutnfancy....

  • i think i might get one of these rifles for my mom to shoot, as well as a neat little bush rifle. it looks like a great little rifle! i will be using iron sights, i don't need a scope to hunt. my hunting rifle is a single shot rifle with iron sights.

  • I so enjoy your videos.

  • i started with a one shotmpelet gun open sights and then a cooye .22 12 rounds bolt which is still open sights

  • neat little rifle, single shot .22 how cool is that? would make a nice little collectible

  • Comment removed

  • I like bolt action more its just the satisfaction of reloading a gun manualy and sliding the bolt into place. idk why other than that

  • the stock of your 10/22 is beautiful nutn :)

  • I have a dau that will be 8 soon. She has not shot a gun yet. You think it would be better to start with a bb gun or just start with one of these 22 cricket rifles.

    Great Video as usual

  • @themattlyone i say from personal experience is get her a bb gun, and if she wants to, that next Christmas get her a 22, and if you want to also teacher her how to shoot a shotgun, think about getting a rossi 22LR/410 combo(it has separate detachable barrels)

  • @themattlyone Get her a pink one

  • cont'.. I also built a fishing kit from an old cigar tube which i wrapped 7lbs fishin string around and placed different size hooks and wts and a few jigs and fly poppers inside. I also included a few razor blades and sewing needles for sticker removal and disinfectant wipes.. All of this I wrapped and packed around with paper towels till there was no space left in the void to keep the tools from making any rattling sounds when using the rifles. Thanks for the video.

  • cont'.. These hollow voids to be perfect places to store survival tools. First I routed out the stock around the screw which holds the barrel on and widened the screw slot so a penny or dime could be used to take the stock off. In the area under the barrel I places a small Phillips head screw driver to remove the butt plate. In the stock void I places a Bic lighter, spare ammo of all different types from shorts, rat shot, stingers,LR HP, and powerless rounds for quite shooting. I also...cont'..

  • Great video. I originally got a old Winchester Model 67 for my kids to learn to shoot on but found it was too long for them to hold properly. I know they make a 'boys' model but due to the collectability the price of the old Winchester was out of the price range on what I wanted to spend. I got them a newer model cricket with a synthetic stock. It worked out perfect for what i wanted to do with it. Upon cleaning I found the stock to be hollow under the butt plate and barrel. I found .. cont'....

  • Got walmart to order me a blue lamenent cricket .22 for my daughter's 10th birthday. I am very impressed and can't wait to see her face on her big day. We have been practicing with my winchester 9422 and it wa almost too heavy for her to hold for extended use.

  • how many times would you have to flick a guy's nuts to kill him?

  • got that cricket when i was 5 years old thanks to my dad and it will be passed down

  • Santa brought my 6 year old a Crickett for Christmas this year and he loves it. I would like to ask for some help on teaching him sight picture and trigger control. Any advice, other than that from the left side, would be greatly appreciated.

  • @rckjeep Take him out and see how he does. Then adjust from there. Line up the sights correctly, pull the trigger smooth and steady, and don't jerk. Also leave the optics off for a while. I learned on a pump BB gun (10 pumps was hell) with irons, and learned that every single shot mattered.

  • @rckjeep The more time U spend with him the better. Learn breathing techniques which help when squeezin off the trigger making it smoother & more accurate.Use targets that move so he can see the results of the bullet. Like hanging iron targets that flip when U hit them. Shootin paper all the time can get boring 4 a kid. If they actually see what the bullet can do like knockin a can over R filling a can with h2o so its pops when hit makes it more exciting. Good luck! Thanx 4 taking A Kid Shootin!

  • Anotther option that out there that i crossed over yesterday and the n came across this video and decided to share it with you all. This rifle is the Mossberg 801 half pint plinkster and it starts out like a crickett as it has a plug that fills the magazine hole and then when theyre old enough you find a Mossberg 702 plinkster 10 round magazine and they will have a 10 shot squirrel rifle of target rifle, i still have my first rifle. It was a rossi single shot .22. Hope i helped someone!

  • 3:36 mr. mom? really?

  • i like how he says out of doors xD

  • tactical doddle re lode at 10:30 well done

  • sweet vid nutn. Im a 22 NUT! I know you stay biZZZZY but if you get time would love to see you review on my fav the REMINGTON 552 speedmaster. My was my Granddads a 1966 150th anniversary. keep the vids comin and KEEP IT REAL..

  • @Lar82Pa your welcome, and the airgun thing, their not accurate and some people dress up and shoot eachother with airsoft guns, i guess the father doesn't like the idea of the kid shooting his friends, and its legal for people under 18 to hunt with firearms too

  • @Lar82Pa i dont see anything wrong with a father teaching his son to shoot, gotta start somewhere, if you start early the skill can develop more over time, thats why i said its a opinion

  • @Lar82Pa in united states minors can shoot guns under parental supervision, but some states are different, and yes i am more mature than 10-12 year olds lol, i put lmao because i jus put that alot, doesn't mean anything

  • @Lar82Pa teaching kids to shoot seems more like a opinion, but what do i know? im 17 lmao

  • My crickett is about 2 ft long lol

  • I started with two guns from both of my grandpas a remington 514 single shot and a marlin model 60 I loved the marlin and shoot more marlins than any other brand

  • Me and my uncle sat up in a tree for half an hour for a deer and i killed one with that gun.

  • cool vid sorry about your dad

  • @Lar82Pa

    You're pretty ignorant.

  • i saw it in my gun shop was $287

  • Your dad looks so bad ass.. bless his memory.

  • Mr. Mom? 04:37

  • Good job and God bless you for your interest in your children and their proper training for life.

  • Great video! Im going to get one for myself!

  • i am 12 and 5,5 i cant keep it on my shoulder or stedy but we go hog huntin with it

  • I wish my dad had called me doodle.

  • Great Vid NF!!!!!!!!! My little girl is 1yo, but this is something I wanted to do as a family..................If I can only get Mom in on it, she won't even go fishin'....lol....oh well

  • can you do a review on the marlin chipmunk .22 rifle if they even exist.

  • I just bought a decent marlin 22 need to get some magazines and hope to take the kid out shooting this Christmas holiday. As soon as I got the gun I took it out and demonstrated how it functions told her the name of the various parts and the safety advice of red dead to treat every gun as loaded proper way to carry. Her mother tries to make her fearful of guns I want her to learn proper ways to deal with them she may have to hunt to live later in life. My kid is going to know how to survive.

  • @coreycaffeine its rlly not my intent at all to turn this comment board into a political discussion, so plz pm this to me, wat makes u think that churches are socalist? some r maybe, of course, there r outliers and strange cases in every organization u can think of. this goes from the unions to the tea partys to everywhere. if thats wat ur talking about i totally understand, but i dont c how u get "churches r socialist." is it because they encourage charity, or wat?

  • @coreycaffeine more or less, sure, but when a host on msnbc admits publicly that he is a socialist and is far left to the mear liberals, that sends up just a few red flags...

  • Oh nutn your so lucky to have a dad to teach you things when you were younger, i didn't have that when i was growing up and am now just getting into guns.

  • msnbc is a joke

  • Good video man, thanks for encouraging common sense and safety. Freedom carries responsibility!

  • can a child learn how to field strip and maintain this firearm like the famous AK-47?

  • it's so true..we need to get connected with the kids and teach them to be responsible..

in europe and specially in germany..you better don't tell anybody..that you like guns or knives..but the kids here are going crazy..i bought my 15 year old stepson a tiny folding knife..a few days later .. saw him throwing the opened knife into the air..to see..if the knife might hit his head..what's wrong with the kids? i had a knife when i was 6 years old and i was always responsible with it..

  • My, late Grandfather bought four Marlin 6060, Back in 1976. He bought three four his three sons, and one for his son in law. My father gave me his. My father also gave me a Mossberg, 12ga, 500 at, Now he is giving me a Remington semiauto .30,06. My late Grandfather, Left me a Ruger single six flattop combo, with the oldstlye hammer, made in the 1950's. I purchased, a .17 mach two, NEF, a Firestorm .45 mande in spain, amd a savage 64. Canidian made rifle fine rifle.

  • I can't wait for the day when I can present a grandkid with a Crickett rifle.

  • My first rifle was this gun, back then it was called a Chipmunk. Great fun. Miss my dad too nutn. good memories.

  • idc if your a kid or not them things are fun to take out and pop squrrils with

  • my grand father just passed away i grew up without a father some of my best memories are when we went shooting and hunting the memories i do have of my father befor he was KIA in desert storm was hunting white tail i miss them both but gun and shooting and hunting are the best memories i have now im headed into the marines and think people who have something against this should try it and if they dont like it then fuck off its the people that arent trained like gang bangers that are giving guns

  • @Forbidenangel0 Im from britain, but god bless your father for his sacrafice in defence of freedom.

  • Crickett rifles are inexpensive. i got mine for only 99usd. I kept the peep sights on mine and i use it as my truck rifle. very compact and able to fit behind a seat. firepower is not its thing, but 1 accurate shot is better than 10 misses. my prefered varmint and coyote killer is my 702 plinkster, but ive shot a large coyote on the backroads at 150 yards. A great little rifle and its not a toy. Aguila super maximum and Target shorts work great. the later is quite for late night armadillo.

  • @babbler254 lol

  • hey nutnfancy how much crickett 22 rifle.?

  • That looks like it'll perform well as a small game survival rifle.

  • hey im sorry about your dad man

  • Mr.mom Mr.mom =) lol

  • I just looked at one of these over at Academy Sporting goods. With fully adjustable rear peep sights and synthetic stock was $99.

  • @picapop12345 You should watch his video entitled Children of the Gun which does advocate teaching children to shoot SAFELY, but does NOT include turning a .22 over to a 3 year old as your comment suggests. -- Veri

  • @nutnfancy k it was a 4 yr old

  • @picapop12345 Yea, supervised, with no ammo.

Unless you are at the range, then he is supervised even closer with one round.

  • @nutnfancy ba zing ....thumbs up

  • @picapop12345 DUM dum dum dum. I was taught to shoot at 7. It's what we do in Texas. Anyway, you don't just give a gun to a child. You use a youth model to instruct and it's a time of bonding. You supervise the child. Then they grow to be responsible family oriented adults.

  • @picapop12345 you have the first comment ive ever seen that got so many thumbs down they wont show it

  • @futuresolider96 ya proud of my self lol

  • @picapop12345 i didnt mean that in a good way

  • @picapop12345 picapop your the nut job, I received my first 22 when I was 4 and I had shot a lot more than that before getting that rifle. My kids are 5 and 9 and they've both fired several rounds through my fathers 22 rifle that he handed down to me. I'm so tired of left wing America haters like you.....GROW UP and if you don't like, leave it!!!

  • @Leonidas9331 well 4 yrs is to young to own a reel gun t 4 u can kill someone because u r nt responceble enough

  • I agree single shot is COOL !!!

  • I think a semi auto does teach kids safety and that's the most important of course.

If they now that a bolt action only shoots when you pull the bolt towards you and then back, they think that they can do whatever they want with it because it's not chambered and you get a lot of incidents. If you give your kid a semi auto you can put one round in the magazine and tell them that it has more, so you can see how your kid handles it after the first shot and you learn him/her the safety rules safe

  • You should compare the Winchester Model 70 and the Remmy 770.

  • @MisterBlackSmoke Apples to oranges.

  • @Kylef7735 Really? How?

  • @MisterBlackSmoke Same POU, but one is a starter gun, cheap, and cheap feeling.

While the other one is a High Dollar, High quality rifle.

  • another super vid thxs a bunch

  • "right tactical?" "yep" lol i bet he didnt know what he said

  • hahahha i love it how in america shooting can be for the whole family to enjoy....ahhhhh how strange.

  • sorry about ur dad

  • i used to have a very nice collection of older sporting rifles and break barrels from my grandfather, but around 2 years after i inherited them the gun laws in australia came out and so not being old enough to obtain a gun license at the time i had to surrender them :( they all had the polished wood finish in mint condition.. a few of them around 60 years old by now, anyway its one of the biggest regrets i have

  • my grandfather got mine when i was 5 and i had 2 put a kick pad on it because its to short 4 me now but i still shoot it

  • just for fun you should put a bipod on it :) .....just kidding lol

  • if i have a kid im gunna try to be just a good dad a nutnn fancy but highly doubtful cause u are the best but how do you get the guns to review??

  • I just started teaching the midget (daughter Mya, 6) how to shoot using a Daisy Buck BB gun. She loves it and asks every day to go shoot. Grandpa has mentioned getting this specific .22 in a pink color when she is ready to graduate to an actual firearm. Just good, family fun all the way!

  • @Bill11812 always be safe, and have fun!

  • @Bill11812 im 15, Personally had my dad buy my brother the Buck and we setup Soda cans and starting poping them one day.

Geting him a Crickett for Xmas this year to teach him how to shoot the way i was taught

  • R.I.P*DAD* i am so srry for you R.I.P hope if u have kids u teach them how to shot R.I.P*DAD* so sorry for u the same thing hapend to me with my grandpa so srry R.I.P*DAD*

  • Another 13 minute video I wont be watching ,.

  • I think if you get kids accustomed to firearms when they are little, they won't feel the need to show off with a gun when they are older.

  • i cant find the crickett .22 i went on there site and no luck can u please help me

  • i found this video becasue i just got my mother a new stainless target model crickett(she is 4'11" ) we all go out shooting gophers as a family and it is great to pass on

  • Anyone know if the .22 LR will fire .22 CB's accurately in this gun?

  • where did you get the scope for your cricket

  • my dad has this old marlin 22 it loads from a tube under the barrel anyone know what model or an idea of what it is?

  • @pain0frain it's probably on the side of the barrel???? they make ton of them load from the tube

  • @pain0frain i have a marlin 75c and it loads from underneath the barrel look on the top of the barrel near the sights it will tell u the model but it probobly is a 75c but they make tons of guns that load from the bottom barrel tube

  • @pain0frain its called a model 60 lol

  • @pain0frain the gun is a marlin model 60 u should look on the barrel its there cuz i have one :)

  • My first firearm that I learned to shoot was an old Montgomery Ward 22 made in the late 1800's or so, bought by my great grandmother. The grandpa learned to shoot with that gun as did my father. It's a part of the family and to this day my nephews are learning to shoot with that rifle. Thanks for bringing back some great memories.

  • I saw one of these in a Army/Nave store the other day. I thought it was one of those lighters you see but not. It was only $149.00 With black stock. I may have to get one it would be great to have with rat shot for snakes it the yard. Great video!!

  • my dad hasnt shot in about 20 years. we went out to shoot at "bullet trap" down in dallas texas. I taught him how to shoot a kel tec p40 and hk p200sk. ( im 15 and have my nra pro marksman certification)

  • jajajaja ammo free yeahh !!!

  • A jorts appearance!

  • Thanks for the nice video. I saw these at the gun shows and considered one for my boys, but thought they were cheap and crappy. Now, thanks to your positive, informative review, I will seriously consider it for teaching the boys shooting and shooting sports.

I learned to shoot with a single-shot .22 of my grandfather's. Many a can, fencepost, squirrel, rabbit, and tin pie plate met their fate thanks to that rifle. Thanks for bringing back a flood of wonderful memories!

  • @shawnferd they are anything but cheap. i love mine. ive only shot maybe 300 rounds through it

  • Its like made for a midget or somethin!! lol

  • @Shifty45ACP

I have one and you'd be surprised man, with the accessory they offer are very cheap price. 6 different color thumb hole stocks each one is $80. Scope mount $14.99 Crickett 4x32 scope $48.95. Crickett .22 LR $180.

So in total $300 for a great looking, very accurate little gun for you're kid to have for years. And the stock is beautiful, take a look if you like. It's on the second page.

    crickett.com/shop_by_brand.php?manufacturers_id=26&page=2&osCsid=hvqpv0hd5docjf80rv1v28r0j0

  • i got a cricket for Christmas when I was 6. I learned how to do everything with that. I'm 15 now and I still love shooting it!

  • i ordered this gun yesterday, this video convinced me to buy it, thanks

  • would an m44 be an adaquet first time gun for my 14th birthday?

  • @blur2319 NO. go with a .22

  • im 14 and my dad taut me on a $100 semi auto witha a scop and ya i went thru ammo like crazy and now i have trubl with my triger conetrol and im now traning my self and i use iron siets and i wish my dad woud of tout me to shout on 1 of thes

only thing is maby u can take a bolt action and take the clip/tube and make them loed 1 by 1 ant then u dont have to buy a biger gun when they get older

  • @kangaroobob1995 Now learn to spell:)

  • looks like a nice gun, but the most UGLY 22. rifle i have ever seen. i do love your videos too. keep it up nutn.

  • Thanks for sharing about your family great vid 22's are so much fun to shoot.

  • its made for a midget or someting:P

  • The first gun ive shot was a 410 ga shotgun and the first "rifle" was the ruger 10/22 and i totally agree with him. Btw love your videos. :D

  • couldt agree more with you a single action 22 was my first gun

  • I agree 100% with you.

  • Nut n fancy..love them reviews. One question, have you experienced 22lr casing jam in the cricket?

  • Sorry..forgot to add this. I shot about 250 rounds and about 42 percent of the brass jammed and I had to pry it out with a flat screw driver.

  • "Family Arsenal"

    I love it.

  • even me being the 13 i am love shooting the crickett and still go squirrel hunting with while it lacks in amount of rounds it dominates in my experiance on accuracy although i prefer a 22 mag nowadays i usually like to use this gun for longer shots

  • hi nutfancy!it seems u had a very nice childhood with your dad, good for u,my dad never took me out for hunting, but we used to go out finishing hahaha, wanted to ask u can the crickett 22 shoot 22 short?i know it shoot 22lr but can it also shoot 22 short?. thanks again man.

  • ya it can thats what my kid started on he was to scard to shoot the big one he called it hahahahah good times

  • whats the maximum effective range a .22LR round can go?

  • honestly ive hit a paper target at 500 yrds kinda random but i did it

  • man his dad seemed like an awesome guy

  • i learned on a 40 ca bereta

  • Would MSNBC prefer that your kids play Grand Theft Auto instead?

My dad taught me how to shoot and be safe with an old Marlin 995 .22 rifle which I still have.

  • very true im only 14 and i have alot of memories of shooting he taught me when i was like 6

  • aww its his sweet ol pops

  • The crickett was the first rifle i ever shot

My father had me pinging golf balls at 100 yards by the end of the day

(hes a firearms instructor for the state police and retired USMC.)

    Good old Bolt action .22

  • can this cricket 22 shoot .22 short? it shoot 22LR but can it also shoot 22 short?

  • nice guns, i learned on a semi auto 22

  • sorry about your pops but i love that picture at 1:20 :-)!!!

  • I'd rather shoot iron sites over a scope i like scope shooting one in a while but you don't get the satisfaction out of hiting a target with a scope like you do with an iron site

  • this made me almost cry thinking how sad it will be when my father dies

  • haha mr. mom... awesome fun... stay strong TMP

  • when i was 5 i shot my first rifle a .270 and when i was 12 i wanted to go coyote hunting he handed my that gun and said go on that was the best moment of my life

  • nutnfancy - your a class act to me! Its great to see someone appreciate their dad the same way I do. My dad passed away too and I miss him very much, his lessons still live on in me. I just ordered a new cricket .22lr exactly the same stock and blued like yours and I guarantee my kids will learn safe gun ownership and handling. Take care man and keep up the awesome work!!!!

  • i am so sorry to here that

  • most guys have their hobbies, sports, etc. then there's the family. Love the fact that you do thread the family into what you do because they should be central in a man's / dads life. Anything less is to be left out.

  • sorry about ur pops great vid.

  • sorry about your dad

  • :)))))))))))))))))))) cool stuff nutnfancy!

  • does that come tapped for a scope or did you do that yourself

  • it like for a midget or something

  • you cant get semi auto rifles in Australia so its a good thing i like bolt actions

  • how loud is this gun? compared to a .177 pellet rifle???

  • @holywood4life1

there is not much more they are about the same i mean it depends how clean is the 22. or who makes the .177

  • "it's tinsy like maybe made for a midget or something" ahahaha 6:50

  • my uncle has 1 and it is his designated squirrel gun..he and I sighted it in at 120 yards and hit bullseye almost everytime. then we sighted it back in at 45-50 yds for squirrel

  • one of my freidns has a mr. mom his mom left them when he was little so his dad was also his mom hes a nice guy hes pretty cool

  • nice video. ahh its sutch a shame that in my country they are giving you sutch a hard time if you want a gun, even a .22 gun. i would give alot to own sutch rifle, now i have to do it with an airgun (.22 diana 350 magnum). but is a .22 rifle a bit compareble to my airgun? (ya im from holland, so ive only shot and hold a rifle on opendays from the dutch army, and those where blanks).
