it kind of sucks some have to play this for an exam with a deadline. i know that competency is important, but having to play this kind of music for some academic sucks. one should just enjoy it and not stress out about playing beautiful music.
Painting from the cover is "Le Pont du Gard" by Hubert Robert (1733-1808) in Musée du Louvre, Paris. It represents an ancient Roman aqueduct built in the 2° century to provide the town of Nîmes in Southern France with water. This monument still exists today as over the painting. However, here the picture is inverted from the original painting.
Nice ornamentation! Just... - between Prelude and Fugue, I'd personally cut the g and play f# right away! (the g's seems too long and too sforzando for my taste). The 1st movement is difficult musically and technically: But it was well done!
Actually, after listening to this again now it's not quite what I intended. The section between the passaggio and the presto should be a little more in time I think.
mmm. Good to imagine Bach sitting imrovising at a harpsichord with the prelude. And listenning to Gustav Leonardt play Frescobaldi helped me a lot too.
I just watched your video. I have never heard a piece of music played so many different ways. I like yours. I am working on the passagio trying to find my own way about it. I feel most people play it too free I am trying to keep it more in time when possible. Hard to do on that section. thank for the musical imput
I nearly didn`t hear such an precisely accurate performance!
Great !!!

Good Luck! I like Bach on the marimba. It works quite well. How many mallets do you have to use in each hand?
