John and Paul have written the vast majority of the Beatles songs together. Here they were not intending to do any public performance but this was a rehearsal in their business work day
on behalf of turning his thong 7 times in his mouth,Paul is turning his finger 7 times into his...OK! i admit it's funny! but that reflex of nervosity demonstrate
how it was difficult at that time to work with John.Paul is trying to arrange the song
and John is trying to discredite him acting like a fool! it's the end of the Beatles!
Now we can hear Beatles songs in a completely new and spiritual way. Search "Truth Contest" in Google and click the 1st result, then open The Present and read through the section about The Beatles. What it says about them and the hidden messages in their lyrics will change your perspective and open your perception to the magic and inspiration in their songs.
its funny to think that if they felt any bit different about something that day that song could've been something completely different from what it is.
Considering how much they could improvise and how funny John is, it's a wonder they got anything done in the studio. I'd be laughing too much and just bringing up random chords and riffs to just jam around.
We tried this voice interval that Paul's struggling to teach to John ay the beginning of the video (never included in their original song) and it worked.
Paul's uncomfortable at 4.24 when John jumps in. i have no preference over either of them because they both produced classics together and on their own, i just wish they were on better terms when John was taken
@davemudge1 in the let it be movie they rehearsed a few songs from abbey road, one of them was maxwell's silver hammer, and whilst they were playing, mal evens hit the anvil with a hammer at the specified moments :)
He did work with the "Greatest Rock and Roll band in the world" ie on his Apple solo album with Keith Richards and on Rolling Stones Tours and albums 1973-1977......
the beatles make it look so easy, and you know what? it actually is. the difference between them and bands from today is that they had the patience to see how far they could take a little idea or melody them while bands from today just rely on ONE fraking boring ass riff, and they just stick with it and dont try anymore because theyre too lazy.but to be fair though, all beatles members were natural born geniuses and could pull melodies out of their ass.thats why all of their songs were brilliant.
At the end George looks bored too(like Ringo). As if to say yeah I can do so much more than play 3 or so muted chords. Big whoop. RIP George & John. Peace and Love.
@imemine5 They did an insane amount of takes of "Get Back". All the footage shows is how mundane a recording session can be. Plus this was prob. after he "quit" the band for a bit and talked him into coming back.
This video should be seen by all the young bands that are starting around there. It is a lesson on how a great song born. They took a very little piece of melody, and see what they got !! Thanks very much pixaninny.
Maybe this is why the Beatles were so great. They were all so talented but it takes patience, teamwork, imagination and the willingness to keep pushing to make the music a little bit better. It is hard work but when it gets better and the groove happens, it's magic.....
You know what everyone just needs to leave Yoko alone... John Loved her and that is all that mattered..I am sure John would not give a fuck if any of you did not like her.. so just drop it and shut up.
Yoko needed to get a fucking life! Go to a museum or the beach or workout or whatever. At least get the fuck out of the fray when she knew the other band mates couldn't stand her. One dumbass chick was the death of the Beatles. If that's not a metaphor for life then I don't know what is!
Thanks for posting! This is great historical stuff for us Beatle people. Despite the negativity that I read about for the "Get Back" sessions, everyone seems to be enjoying it; yes, even George. no doubt!. I one herd a interview were John said "we were kids in liver pool and all we really wanted to do was play rock and roll and blues covers" , the song writing came later when they were managed and of course the rest is history and some amazingly composed songs!
Apparently John and Paul had both become pretty arrogant by the end. George and Ringo had both already left and returned. In my opinion George was as good of a writer as John or Paul with the late Beatles, but he could still hardly get any songs on the albums. But with four talents as great as the members of the Beatles, and the huge personality differences, it had to end sometime.
amazing guys, ...you can tell they have a vision what they want the song to be... and they keep working it until they get it right...i was 15, and used to just wait for the next time the radio played this song...me and my silvertone
I just love the visual connection between John and George, they were having so much fun, what a shame those types of harmony didn't carry on for many more years between John and Paul...
in some ways i wish billy preston was with the beatles from the start. just imagine billy sitting on stage at Shea Stadium playing the Hammond or the vox continental or whatever he would use on "I'm Down"... it would have opened up oodles of more songs for the beatles to play live, too, and probably would have at least lightened up the mood on tour. oh well, a person can dream...
+1 on cropping out Yoko. I don't even have anything against the woman and I understand that John loved her, but the degree of her presence (sitting RIGHT next to him) was ridiculous and over the line. Imagine walking in to an important meeting at work and having your wife sit next to you the entire time for no reason other than to whisper in to your ear and give everyone else icy stares. I'm not saying writing music should be a "business", but Yoko had no place in that room.
guys, please stop hating yoko. shes just a part, a little part of teh reason why they broke up, like not even big enough to start hating her for it, they had there time, and by the end, they were getting interesting in doing there own stuff, nothin lasts forever. i like yoko, sure she may be a bit diferent from your avrage famouse singers girlfriend, but so what. stop hating. peace.
The Beatles had respect for Billy Preston(Obviously, you are a racist, and you hate all blacks!).In fact he recorded so many times, with the Beatles that Billy was considered "5th Beatle"!!!! Billy is also on the "White Album"!!! However, Billy died in 2006... May he rest, forever,in peace!
this is an interesting video. I think it says a lot about their breakup, and it points to what most people don't like to hear. But the real cause was john. He, with yoko's aid, had gotten too into himself, a big head. As a result his musical abilities started to suffer and he alienated himself from the others. This is clear from johns frequent mess up's in this video and you can tell the others are frusterated with him.
i sent this link to my brother, he asked who the african american guy is....I did a little research and I found out that that person is no one other the great singer...BILLY PRESTON. He passed away June 6, 2006.

He's left handed. He's holding the pick between his index finger and his thumb. He therefore is simply pointing with his middle finger. It's nothing.

how did you get the time "3:33" to serve as a link?
dvs1572 3 years ago
If you just post a comment with a time on it(uninterrupted by any other punctuations), it would be linked to the time in the vid automatically.

this is an interesting video.
