Christ taught his followers how to save themselves and as he said 'One that is not lost does not need to be saved'.
The scriptures were correct, the dead in Christ arose first. His spiritual community that followed his true way of healing the self. As he said 'The Kingdom of God is within YOU'.
I am the prophet that God promised to send to the Levites to heal and purify them them. I am the Spiritual alchemist. I am the one that God promised to send for the children and we delivered the covenant to Israel in 2007. I am the one that called the gathering on the holy hill in Israel. I am the one the Jewish people were waiting for. That is why 5 million trees burned down in Israel and Queensland was flooded.
No Joseph Smith was not the Messenger of the Covenant, he didn't meet the timeline or the criteria. Nor did he deliver the covenant that God promised for the children.
@academysounds - Elijah has already returned to do that which had been promised by the prophet Malachi. If he has come to you or in body, has appeared in some other place, then perhaps your comment might hold a little water... But since no contrary source or visitation by the said prophet has been recorded or you are aware of such a meeting, then you can't honestly suggest that it hasn't already happened.
It's like saying, "I know for a fact that there is no China!" based on never being there.
@dashdot72 - You don't think so what? God thinks so... Angels and other ministers who have returned light and knowledge of the truth will not deny... those, like me, who have received a spiritual witness of the truth that these events took place can not deny it. The Holy Spirit speaks the truth, just as John says and I for one know that the Lord's plans and designs are continuing to unfold before us. It's true whether I believe it or not. 1 John 5:9 suggests that ANYONE could know truth also.
It's funny you should say "Some suggest John the Baptist was Elias but they do not understand the scriptures." By saying that, you call Jesus a liar, or you can say the Bible isn't translated correctly.
@php12345 When John the Baptist was asked if he was Elijah, He answered "No". Elijah was also prophesised to return before the dreadful day (Armaggedon/Jesus's Return). So the Malachi 4 prophesy has net yet been fullfilled, but soon will be.
@InterruptingCheese Oh just saw ur reply. John the Baptist was denying that he was the actual reincarnation of Elijah. He was not the actual person, yet Jesus said he was the "Elijah to come."
@php12345 Yes, John the Baptist was not actually Elijah, but John the Baptist's ministry was carried out in the spirit of Elijah, for the real Elijah will return right before the millennial kingdom - Jesus's second coming
@THELDSLIFE If Joseph Smith was Elijah, why then does the LDS claim that Christ called Joseph Smith a new prophet when Elijah was already an established prophet? And was not Smith given a revelation from God to go to Salem, Massachusetts because there was "much treasure in this city" and that he would be given power to pay his debts but he did not find any treasure? And did not Smith have a warrant for his arrest for bank fraud, and did he not hide from the law in another town? Just asking?
@InterruptingCheese - there is no claim that Joseph Smith was the actual "Elijah" who in fact visited the prophet as described in this video. The spirit of "Elias" or "One that prepares the way of the Lord" has been found during many instances in the scriptures. The miracle which was the appearance of Elijah to the newly dedicated temple was no less a miracle than the events occurring at the "Mount of Transfiguration." Not understanding this simple fact, one wonders what else you've gotten wrong
@THELDSLIFE ~ Thank you for responding. But i see that you didn't admit or deny anything that i asked you about Joseph Smith and his problems with the law, and of the LDS calling him a new prophet, and with his claim of God telling him to go find treasure which he did not find. If one is to be with the Lord, then one must be truthful in the presence of the Lord. This my friend, you are not doing. Please humble yourself before our Lord and let the truth guide you ever closer to the Him. Amen.
Paul had problems with the law and was jailed... along with Peter.
Did this disqualify them from being chosen servants?
Also: Joseph and leaders traveled to Salem hoping to find money that could satisfy some of the Church's debt. The trip was made on their own initiative; not commanded by the Lord. Joseph did not "prophesy" that they would find money in Salem but was convinced that the story might be true.
Upon failing to find money, they spent time preaching in Salem.
@THELDSLIFE ~ Peter was jailed because of his connection with the church. Smith was in trouble with the law because of bank fraud. Two different circumstances, one involving the Lord, the other not. Peter was freed from jail by the hand of God. Smith escaped capture for fraud by his own choice by illegaly hiding in another town (bank fraud is a very serious crime and greatly deserves jail time). So its obvious that Peter was truly a chosen servant by God.
@InterruptingCheese - It is highly unlikely that we are every going to agree on anything. We won't come to any common grounds until I agree with you, that your logic on all things, is undeniable which is just not going to happen.
@THELDSLIFE ~ I'm not asking nor expecting you to agree with me on any level. I am simply stating my beliefs just as you are, and i greatly respect your beliefs, so please respect mine. I have great admiration for all religions who praise God and His Son, Jesus. So be it as it may, i still consider you a friend, not an enemy, for we are still brothers in the name of the Lord, and i will never have any animosity towards you. Its been a pleasure conversing with you. Hope to talk to you soon. Peace
@InterruptingCheese - Regarding ChristianAmerican - I have given him ample answers... mostly answers that he disagrees with. What I actually have NO time for is answering one thing and then to have 4 more things waiting for me. I'd rather he do as I suggest; going to sites like WWWdotJEFFLINDSAYdotCOM or FAIRLDSdotORG and seek after answers himself. He is only willing to stay on only one side of the argument, quick to dismiss the thorough research and evidence provided by those sites.
@THELDSLIFE ~ I see that you were here posting on your channel just 1 day ago, but yet you avoided answering my questions about Joseph Smith that i asked you a week ago. Why is that? Is there something that you're ashamed of? Perhaps the truth, maybe? Go ahead and answer my questions and let the truth be known. I'll be waiting for your answers.
"(The songs) celebrate the heroes of the past so that the new generation can be the heroes of the future," he said. "A program like this reminds us of the blessings we have in this country and the responsibilities we have moving forward.
Dignitaries who attended this year's performance include Elder Matthew J. Eyring, Area Seventy of the North America Northeast Area, who presided at the event, as well as Vermont Gov. James Douglas.
Elder Eyring said that the music honored past patriots while helping train future ones.
I am not better than them but mormons are wrong with the other book called "Book of mormons". The bible is the only authentified word of god known for christians.
@maloumba01 which Bible? and which books in the Bible? You are coming from a position of IGNORANCE about both Christianity and the Holy Bible. Please learn to think for yourself.
Hi, I hope i am not reponding late to your question?
For the question which bible : I use the "Louis Segond" bible( french version).
For the book, in the bible I use Colossian 1:15 mostly. It states :
"Who ( CHRIST) is the image of the invisible God,". I admit my ignorance sometimes concerning scriptures but here I have almost no doubt that the vision of
that man (no matter goog he could have been to us) was not true.
Hi everyone, the bible says that Christ the image of the invisible god.
God has not therefore a body of flesh even if it is glorified.
Remember conserning the vision of all prophets in the bible they never see two humans glorified in fleh, but rather a son of man and sometimes another one, but that latest is nevr described as having a glorified for he is not like men or sons of men. I heard about mormons visions but i have to admit that people are decieved.
@THELDSLIFE - Moses was also overcome by fear when God told him to go to Egypt and free the Hebrews. But God assurd Moses not to be afraid, for He will be with him, and protect him, the same way God had comforted and strenghthened Elijah from his fears.
all things denote there is a God; yea, even the earth and all things that are upon the face of it, yea, and its motion, yea, and also all the planets which move in their regular form do witness that there is a supreme Creator Alma 30:44
In part this glacial adoption speed, however, is Haitis way of expressing concern for its children. Human trafficking abounds in Haiti, and Lear jets, land on hidden airstrips transporting the innocent, who have been rounded up from Haitis streets, into the most despicable human slavery. Others are whisked away to have their organs harvested. These beautiful children have their body parts taken by the highest bidder.
Mark Ashurst-McGee, coeditor of the JSP's Journals series, added that the Prophet understood the need for record keeping, but fully understood the limitations of his meager childhood education.
Nothing illustrates that better than a letter written on Nov. 27, 1832, to William W. Phelps, the church printer in Missouri. In it, the Prophet writes, "Oh Lord God, deliver us from this prison, almost as it were, of paper, pen and ink, and of a crooked, broken, scattered and imperfect language."
"It's the public view of all the conclusions that people have made," Miller said.
This community view highlights mistakes and inaccuracies, according to Tim Cross, a product manager for New FamilySearch. It also helps church members see their ancestors names not on "raw records," but in the context of family relationships.
Bouncing around on the trend-tossed seas of 21st-century book publishing, Mormon scholarship seems to have docked at the granddaddy of all prestigious presses: Oxford University.
The churches will also be a shelter when the earth will melt with fervent heat.
Its a good thing that children of Israel have already endured "one" example of this.
I see it as no small coincidence that the Lord decided to preserve 3 righteous young men from the furnace in Babylon to teach us that "true men of God" in the last days would also have to refrain from worshipping the idol of babylon in order to be saved from this NEXT fervent heat which shall surely come!
Mormon and Moroni must have marveled as to how "similar" the future would be to their own experience; save that the righteous souls who would be sent to bear off the kingdom triumphantly would do so in a commanding manner! Even down to the 4 generations of peace, it is a type-set of the 1,000 years of peace which follows the Lord's return... and eventual "loosing" of Satan, which indeed will tempt the rising generation close to the end of that 1,000 year period! I can't wait!
They wear stiff necks and high heads; yea, and because of pride, and wickedness, and abominations, and whoredoms, they have all gone astray save it be a few, who are the humble followers of Christ; nevertheless, they are led, that in many instances they do err because they are taught by the precepts of men." 2 Nephi 28:14 - There will be some who will survive the second coming... like they who were MORE righteous survived the calamities before Christ's visit to the Americas.
"The fundamental principles of our religion are the testimony of the Apostles and Prophets, concerning Jesus Christ, that he died, was buried and rose again on the third day and ascended to heaven; and all other things which pertain to our religion are only appendages of it!
He was a zealot and he frequently mocked others for their stupidity. He would tell the prophets of "Baal" that they weren't praying hard enough... or that perhaps their God had gone on a long walk... lol... It's no wonder that he fled into the wilderness for 3.5 years!
He was a bit of an antagonist but a prophet of God, none the less!
You've made some bold statements against the LDS church or more specifically, the prophet of the restoration chosen by Jesus Christ... would you care to back ANY of them up with evidence or are you just another pawn or parrot of the Anti-Mormon group?
"Our father Lehi was driven out of Jerusalem because he testified of these things. Nephi also testified of these things, and also almost all of our fathers, even down to this time; yea, they have testified of the coming of Christ, and have looked forward, and have rejoiced in his day which is to come. "
All in all, its not easy to separate "Messianic" and "Latter-day" Prophecy. I'm not 100% convinced that each prophecy relates only to one person.
He said that the Lord would call a "moses" and we should suggest that this means he can call whomever he chooses at his own will and pleasure regardless. God is God and has not lost his power.
I still think that the Lord said some of the same things about Joseph Smith; whom would also hold the same water as a Moses if the people reject him.
Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the Lord of hosts. (Malachi 3:1, 2-5)
If Jesus Christ did not say this through his servants, the prophets, I too would suggest that the dealings of God with the house of Israel couldn't include Joseph Smith but it DOES profess the coming of a new messenger! Not too many make the error that this somehow was John the Baptist for neither came Christ suddenly to his temple to meet any messenger... neither have the sons of Levi begun to offer offerings again in righteousness yet.
and in the Revelation we see 2 prophets,the one is Elajiah,but who could be the next,by reading the verses we come to the conclusion that it could be Moses back again.whats common in Moses and Elajiah is that they are both great prophets and nobody has ever seen them dead,but the differens is that Moses died in the place where God caled him to die,but Elajiah didnt die.But nobody knows where is the grave of Moses.a quastion,
How do you come up with this conclusion? How are we not to know that this isn't an idea interpreted by man?
Was it in a book somewhere? Was this man a prophet of God. All things bring this assessment into question.
We have first hand accounts of Elijah already coming to the earth; See the information about the video; documented accounts of Elijah's visit as it fulfills the prophecy of Malachi regarding new messengers; prophets of Israel. Among the two who die in Jerusalem is not elijah
there are many instances where men of God did not taste of death. For example;
John the Beloved was told that he could tarry on the earth until he returned... yet the Bible gives conflicting stories as to what happened to John. If Jesus is correct, then John is still living among us on the earth. Similarly there are others who have not tasted death but reside in the heavens above ie, Moses, Elijah, etc... but all of those folks can and some have returned to the earth; ie, Gabriel, etc.
why did God had to saperat Moses from people when he was going to die,the only anwear is that God was giving us a message that His not done with Moses mission,He didnt want people to see him dead.and who knows what really happened there,and there is nobody who actualy see him dead...anyway when they come they will make this clear or us
when you put the real Elijah it makes sence why did God take him from earth alive,because he was going to be kiled on his second coming(Revelation11:1-12),and resurect..expect to see Elijah not in USA,China,Africa,Arabia,but in ISRAEL!bible is jewish and Jesus(Yeshua) is jewish and His going to save His jewish people sence they are His blood,specialy He gave his word,read bible it says that jews will believe in Him(Zachariah12:9-10,Romans11)...All eyes turn to Jerusalem!
Elijah is going to be killed by witnessing to the world about coming judgment and all the world is going to know what he said and hate him, when he dies they will salabrate by giving each other gifts(sounds to me this is going to happen around christmas times),and resurect again after 3.5 days,now mormon Elijah wasnt killed,nobody knows about him,nobody gives each other gifts,nobody hated him and he was speaking english, not hibru..and nobody saw them exept your holy Joseph.oh please.....
come on why you people are so blind Elajah is jewish and His going to come to Israel to save jewish people,because God promised to save them,if He said then it will happen,even if they dont want it...and stop believing to this man made lies...
God didn't just create Jews and Christians in the Middle East. He created ALL mankind. He caused the Jews to be scattered into the crowds of the Gentiles. So did He just write those scattered Jews off as "unsaved" just because they had lost access to the scriptures due to their initial disobedience? Is there no balm in Gilead for them as well? Or was it just for people living in and around Jerusalem and in the area of the 7 churches mentioned in Revelation?
Why do the Mormons use the King James Bible when it was "revealed" to Joseph Smith that it was not correct. Why do you not use the Inspired Version that was corrected & now contain all of the "plain & precious truths" the KJV left out or got wrong?
@ChristianAmerican The prophet according to the promise of Mal 4:5 and Rev10:7 is none other than Bro William Branham. He as a prophet spoke and encouraged the use of King James version of the bible as it is the closest translation of the original greek written bible
we examine the prophet's word and life against the bible. i do not deny who Joseph Smith is as I do not know him, but William Branham i know for a fact he is God's prophet. God gave us a sign for every person to see by their own eyes
I wasn't able to ask much about Mr. Branham. His staunchest of supporters don't allow much commentary, haven't been online for over 11 months or don't seem very interested in assessment by others. Would you care to explain why?
Why do folks take one word and exaggerate it beyond repair?
It has never been said that the Bible is worthless to us. To say, "as far as it has been translated correctly" adds significance to the acknowledgments in modern times that those translations have not been perfect. We do not reject ANY of that which is in the Bible. Some things have required additional suppport from modern prophets to understand but that's about all. I love reading the bible but I appreciate prophets in modern Israel.
The only time I don't use the King James Version of the Bible is when I use the "Reina Valera" version; it's in Spanish;
Not all versions of the Bible are attributed to King James; The spaniards have a bible kept by the Queen Valera; there are many editions of the Bible but the one that is used uniformly in the LDS church is the King James Version;
The Mormon's don't have their own Bible;
we do have "footnotes and scripture study" information including "scriptural cross reference material"
The Reina valera makes certain points clearer... as in that record which should proceed forth from the mouth of Joseph would be called more specifically, el palo de Efrain or The Stick of Ephraim...and not Joseph... since Ephriam was the son of the birthright. The Book of Mormon also mentions their affiliation with Joseph and his seed wtih both Ephraim and Manasseh mentioned in conjunction.
While it is still true that it comes through Joseph, its more specifically by Ephraim;
Before i leave again, CA, be sure to announce to the world when Elijah the prophet comes to your Born Again congregation. The world is waiting ... LOL
I never said there could never be another prophet after Jesus Christ left this earth.
But the scriptures give us guidelines for those prophets. They must NOT teach a different gospel, they must not add to the gospel, & if any prophet speaks of what will happen (especially when "quoting" God) that DON'T come to pass- we will know he is a false prophet.
I can give details of each point that show JS was NOT a true prophet. I'm quite sure youre aware though, arent you?
Yes, we are one church. Christ's church. Those who do not believe His words are not of His church. Those who put others before Him are not of His church.
You can try any argument you would like... I believe Jesus. =)
The book of Mormon is the word of God, and you are a shill parrot servant of Lucifer! Get thee behind me satan, you are offensive unto God and you don't even know Him.
Some suggest he'll just come back in spirit... like an epiphany... so, as soon as you're ready! You'll all be waiting a very long time! Only when the catastrophe which is the "earth rolling together like a scroll" will folks realize, 'hey wait! didn't Elijah say he'd come before this?" and then we'll all know... "oh yeah; those damn Mormon's probably got to see that happen!"
@LDSapologist71 - No but the early church was probably there to do his "temple work" ie, baptism for the dead.
Afterall, why would Peter have suggested this?
For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit. 1 Peter 4:6
No, not at all. Various Christian churches have differences they don't agree on, but their foundation in Christ is the same.
The reason people attack the mormon church is bc it pretends to teach the true gospel of Christ, then it mind-numbingly leads people into completely different doctorines. Ive been there, I know the truth.
Why I personally do it, is to try to save my family still in the church & others like them.
Oh so to make this clear for all readers, you are saying that you left the church, or was excommunicated, and now suffer from a chronic case of "ears that itch."
You live in a country, that provides you security to worship God in the same fashion as did the early Gnostic, because they too thought there wasn't any real organization, and you only had to believe.
Again this isn't what the apostles, nor JESUS CHRIST taught in order to enter the kingdom.
And he gave some apostles and some, prophets...for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry...Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God...
If you truly believed in Jesus Christ, then you would understand that prophets are necesary UNTIL we come to UNITY of the faith. The world is NOT one faith, and this will prove your fault for disobedience to the councils of the modern day prophets. Believe the WHOLE bible!
Hey, I don't mind. The more comments that arrive here, the more attention it is drawn to YouTube hence; as a talked about video, it gets more attention and views! Comment away!
Something just struck me & I neede to get back on & ask...
Rev 1:5-6, was the first scripture you used to say we would have to "reckon with" Joseph Smith (who holds the keys) in order to "rid the garments of the blood of those who denied God's Word".
Don't you see when you read that scripture that it says Jesus washed away the blood?
How do you see things that simply aren't there, yet completely miss Jesus & what he's done for you?
All must have their sins washed clean through the blood of Christ. We also must also answer to the Lord regarding how well we did in observing and obeying the commandments of the Lord; Not providing a biblical reference to this is not a "non-answer"
I have already suggested to you that this is a "modern revelation" from "Modern prophets in Israel" - all will be judged according to the Law of the Gospel as received by each dispensational leader, ie, Adam, Noah, Abe, Moses, etc
All Christians who accept & follow Jesus Christ know that when they stand before God at judgement, Jesus has promised to be their defender. The Bible says nothing about having to reconcile with the prophets of their time first. (Which you said from the beginning.)
You still haven't shown me where Paul, or anyone else for that matter, led into this- only to then leave it for a "modern day" prophet to reveal later.
Again, who will save you on that day-Joseph or Jesus Christ?
So far, youve called me a name & judged me, youve put forth an entire doctrine that you haven't been able to back up by any scripture, & you've told me that you can't believe everything your prophets say- even when it's in your own Doctrine of Salvation!
So- I'm going to call it a night. I'll check back tomorrow to see if you ever answered my question on the scripture verses, & also to see if you answered what you believe re JS being the passport to salvation
I suppose it makes up for the comments you lied about in Malachi that I called you out on, & you sent me a personal message that said- OOps, I erased them!
neither is it well to be forever the prince or the pauper for all who remain in these 4 catagories have a terrible time accepting truth; but that we must be Priests unto the most high God and be anointed to come forth at the morning of the first resurrection clothed with honor. Which calling comes from the priesthood of God. All ought to be ordained by the Lord through his servants so we may join John as he says, "we have been washed clean!" Rev 1:5-6
Folks who act as pawns or parrots generally use the words given to them and parrot those words; ie, quotes Journal of Discourses and parrot them after the manner in which are taught to read them; ie, via a pamphlet, book, etc. None of those thoughts came from you. Pawns can also be Parrots; pawns are moved on a chessboard and have no real authority on the board but they who are deemed more wise than they tell them when and how to move.
There is no doubt that words were spoken and recorded... but when folks read from the Journal of Discourses, it is not so named the Journal of Doctrine. When people read from the History of the Church, it is not called
The Gospel of the Church;
These discussions were necessary and the history of the church is simply that; its history. There are many learning revelations in the early days of the church and those folks discussed them at length working towards understanding.
So how do you know when to listen to & believe your prophets, or when to know they're just spouting nonsense? Do you believe those quotes? Do you believe everyone will have to pass thru Joseph Smith first before they enter God's Kingdom?
We read from our canon of scripture and preach from it. It is the law of the Lord as it has been revealed. All must reckon with with Jesus Christ; Jesus Christ himself will ask us, "Did I not give unto the Law of the gospel by the mouth of my servant Joseph?" Joseph Smith is a caretaker of the Law in our dispensation. Jesus Christ himself will ask you what you did with it and he will be there to uphold his prophet either to your joy or to your undoing.
when I read that, I started to quake in fear and remorse for the wicked that are not listening to the spririt and this message that somehow, they might be touched to turn away from all ungodliness, and repent and return to the God that gave us all breath.
The Lord would call a prophet. Paul uses his words carefully. Christ is already in heaven; (Verse 20-21) and shall return but only after a "restitution of all things take place. (Verse 21) then it says, similar to what Moses said about Christ; but that from Pauls time, it would be ANOTHER prophet raised up by the Lord in similar fashion. From Moses to Christ; then from Christ to later prophet) vs 22,
Denying JS removes folks from God; Vs 23- prophesied since Samuel Vs 24
ChristianAmerican has had difficulty with regards to latter-day prophecy vs messianic prophecy on more than this occasion. Perhaps he would read Nahum 1:6 and also suggest that it somehow tied in with Christ's first sojourn on earth. Why knows. I thought it was common knowledge that Malachi chapters 3 and 4 in conjunction with Acts 3:22-26 could be easily determined as "latterday messages" to come forth before the second coming. (he must not have gone to the same Bible school)
They are the Acts of the apostles, and the book was written after the crucification and resurrection of Jesus. I wasn't being disrespectful. I was only pointing out facts. That is why the "PROPHET" would the LORD raise up unto us, even our generation, and restore all things...
Acts 3 in its entirety is speaking about our day.
But charity is the pure love of Christ, and it endureth forever; and whoso is found possessed of it at the last day, it shall be well with him. Moroni 7:47 - for Charity covers a "multitude of sins" and it is the manner in which Christ lives in the heavens. He is the perfect example of Charity! May we ALL be possessors of Charity in the last day; my heart is filled with charity for you, ChristianAmerican. It is sad to hear that you left the covenant. Hopefully you too can renew yours as I did.
Thankfully that will never happen. I never knew Jesus Christ with the church of Joseph Smith. All I knew were lists & lists of rules, traditions, & praise of the "prophet". Jesus Christ is rarely mentioned there. In fact, there's no time for Jesus. Even here you're quoting the BOM, not the Bible.
I am a Christian who knows that Jesus Christ is My Lord & Savior, not my "spirit brother", & I have a direct line to Him, I don't have to go thru a priesthood with "authority."
These scriptures would have more meaning to you if you yet remained in the covenant.
Apostates don't continue in such hope.
Standing firm = not quitting Christ or his church.
"No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
"JS, & all the prophets after him are not masters..."
Would you say Saviors, then?
"To get our salvation, we sahll have to pass by the Prophet JS, if we enter our glory, it will be thru the authority he has received." - 1988 Melchizedek Priesthd Study Guide, p142, Apostle George Q Cannon.
"There is no salvation without accepting JSmith." - Prophet Joseph F Smith, Doct of Salvation, v1,p190
"No man or woman in this dispensation will ever enter into the celestial kingdom of God w/o the consent of JS..every man must have a certificate of JS,Jr as a passport to their entrance into the mansion where God & Christ are. JS reigns there as a supreme being in his sphere,capacity, & calling,as does God in heaven."- Prophet Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses,v7,p289-91
"I tell you,Joseph holds the keys, none of us can get into the kingdom w/o passing by him." O. Hyde
Well Joseph Smith is the prophet of the Last dispensation; much like those living in the dispensation of Peter will have to pass through him... those who lived in the days of Moses will have to pass through him...Those living in the Days of Abraham and Noah are the same; Each man who held dispensation keys will have to be reckoned with at that final day of judgment so they can rid their garments of the blood of them who denied Gods word.
Dispensation; a certain order, system, or arrangement; administration or management.
Theology.
a. the divine ordering of the affairs of the world.
b. an appointment, arrangement, or favor, as by God.
c. a divinely appointed order or age: the old Mosaic, or Jewish, dispensation; the new gospel, or Christian, dispensation.
We are in the last dispensation of time before the return of Jesus Christ marked by the fulfillment of Malachi 3:1-2 in the calling of a new messenger.
That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one call things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: Eph. 1: 10
We are in this last dispensation of time as spoken of by Paul; even in the last days where it was promised that Christ would remain in heaven until the restoration would take place in that great "Restitution of ALL" things which is already under way... See Acts 3: 20-21
You're hopping around scriptures, but never giving me the verses that show anything at all about your claim. I'm still waiting. If we get to one remotely close, I'll be happy to hear you out.
I'm not hopping around scriptures. I already told you that this "enlightenment" comes from modern revelation. Paul threw the perpetual pitch... the latter day prophet was there to catch it. You just weren't around to see that game and you doubt it has even been played... if you EVER were a member of the LDS sect, then you would already know that I speak of "latter-day revelation" regardless if you followed Brigham to the mountain of the Lords house or remained in Nauvoo with Emma and her son.
Ahhhh, right! I knew it was coming... It's not actually in the Bible, it's "enlightenment" that you wish you could reveal if I had the faith of a ....what is it you always say when you can't back up your doctrine with scripture?
So, Jesus saved all of this knowledge, didn't tell his disciples, didn't tell us when he revealed all in the New Testament, but he saved it all for Joseph Smith. Gotcha!
'Praise to the man who communed w/Jehovah, Jesus anointed that prophet & seer, traitors & tyrants now fight him in vain. Great is his glory & endless is his priesthood. EARTH MUST ATONE FOR THE BLOOD OF THAT MAN! Millions shall know Brother Joseph again."
This is only a small part of that hymn, & there are many more "prophet" hymns. What about 'We Ever Pray for Thee'- hymn sung by women?
Believing requires action, and not just belief. The theif on the cross didn't go directly to heaven. This is a misinterpretation of modern views of christianity. rather He went toe spirit world to learn the true gospel of Christ, and wait for his correct baptism for the theif wasn't ever baptized by water and the spirit in mortality.
You guys are so great at telling all of these things that everyone is supposed to believe. Yet, you have no scripture to back it up.
Christians stand firm with the Bible. Anyone can preach a different gospel than what's in the Bible. That's why we are told to study His Word & prove all things. There are so many false prophets out there, not just in Joseph Smith's church, & we've been warned about them.
@TirianCreed - God alone is who we worship; Jesus Christ is our judge; for it was he who paid the penalty for our sins and it is through him that we may return to the father. He and he alone is the one we put our faith in and neither ChristianAmerican nor any other man can take this from us. We can only deny this and remove ourselves from the covenant, if we should so choose. This would not be your fate as it should also not be mine...
I tell you these things because of your prayers; wherefore, treasure up wisdom in your bosoms, lest the wickedness of men reveal these things unto you by their wickedness, in a manner which shall speak in your ears with a voice louder than that which shall shake the earth; but if ye are prepared ye shall not fear.
D&C 38:30 - and trust you me... they will speak louder and louder as you get closer to your appointed mission.
And when these things have passed away a speedy destruction cometh unto my people; for, notwithstanding the pains of my soul, I have seen it; wherefore, I know that it shall come to pass; and they sell themselves for naught; for, for the reward of their pride and their foolishness they shall reap destruction; for because they yield unto the devil and choose works of darkness rather than light, therefore they must go down to hell.
'Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Do not be carried away with various & strange doctorines.'

I am the prophet that God promised to send to the Levites to heal and purify them them. I am the Spiritual alchemist. I am the one that God promised to send for the children and we delivered the covenant to Israel in 2007. I am the one that called the gathering on the holy hill in Israel.

It's funny you should say "Some suggest John the Baptist was Elias but they do not understand the scriptures." By saying that, you call Jesus a liar, or you can say the Bible isn't translated correctly.

The Malachi 4 prophesy was fulfilled by John the Baptist. (JESUS SAID IT!)
Btw Elias = Elijah. 2 name translations for one person.

He was not the actual person, yet Jesus said he was the "Elijah to come."
php12345 1 year ago
@php12345 Yes, John the Baptist was not actually Elijah, but John the Baptist's ministry was carried out in the spirit of Elijah, for the real Elijah will return right before the millennial kingdom - Jesus's second coming

@InterruptingCheese - Elijah has returned prior to the second coming. It is our declaration that this event had taken place in the early 1830's...
THELDSLIFE 1 year ago
@THELDSLIFE If Joseph Smith was Elijah, why then does the LDS claim that Christ called Joseph Smith a new prophet when Elijah was already an established prophet? And was not Smith given a revelation from God to go to Salem, Massachusetts because there was "much treasure in this city" and that he would be given power to pay his debts but he did not find any treasure? And did not Smith have a warrant for his arrest for bank fraud, and did he not hide from the law in another town? Just asking?
InterruptingCheese 1 year ago
@InterruptingCheese - there is no claim that Joseph Smith was the actual "Elijah" who in fact visited the prophet as described in this video. The spirit of "Elias" or "One that prepares the way of the Lord" has been found during many instances in the scriptures. The miracle which was the appearance of Elijah to the newly dedicated temple was no less a miracle than the events occurring at the "Mount of Transfiguration." Not understanding this simple fact, one wonders what else you've gotten wrong
THELDSLIFE 1 year ago
@THELDSLIFE ~ Thank you for responding. But i see that you didn't admit or deny anything that i asked you about Joseph Smith and his problems with the law, and of the LDS calling him a new prophet, and with his claim of God telling him to go find treasure which he did not find. If one is to be with the Lord, then one must be truthful in the presence of the Lord. This my friend, you are not doing. Please humble yourself before our Lord and let the truth guide you ever closer to the Him. Amen.
InterruptingCheese 1 year ago
@InterruptingCheese -
Paul had problems with the law and was jailed... along with Peter.
THELDSLIFE 1 year ago
@THELDSLIFE ~ Peter was jailed because of his connection with the church. Smith was in trouble with the law because of bank fraud. Two different circumstances, one involving the Lord, the other not. Peter was freed from jail by the hand of God. Smith escaped capture for fraud by his own choice by illegaly hiding in another town (bank fraud is a very serious crime and greatly deserves jail time). So its obvious that Peter was truly a chosen servant by God.

Peace and love of YAHUSHUA be with you.

All in all, its not easy to separate "Messianic" and "Latter-day" Prophecy. I'm not 100% convinced that each prophecy relates only to one person.

Among the two who die in Jerusalem is not elijah

there are many instances where men of God did not taste of death. For example;

The only time I don't use the King James Version of the Bible is when I use the "Reina Valera" version; it's in Spanish;
Not all versions of the Bible are attributed to King James; The spaniards have a bible kept by the Queen Valera; there are many editions of the Bible but the one that is used uniformly in the LDS church is the King James Version;
The Mormon's don't have their own Bible;
we do have "footnotes and scripture study" information including "scriptural cross reference material"
THELDSLIFE 2 years ago
I was told the Reina Valera is a better translation.
Do you have any thoughts or comments on that?
omiolo 2 years ago
The Reina valera makes certain points clearer... as in that record which should proceed forth from the mouth of Joseph would be called more specifically, el palo de Efrain or The Stick of Ephraim...and not Joseph... since Ephriam was the son of the birthright. The Book of Mormon also mentions their affiliation with Joseph and his seed wtih both Ephraim and Manasseh mentioned in conjunction.
While it is still true that it comes through Joseph, its more specifically by Ephraim;

"Mormons are the team to beat"
No, not at all. Various Christian churches have differences they don't agree on, but their foundation in Christ is the same.
The reason people attack the mormon church is bc it pretends to teach the true gospel of Christ, then it mind-numbingly leads people into completely different doctorines. Ive been there, I know the truth.
Why I personally do it, is to try to save my family still in the church & others like them.
ChristianAmerican 2 years ago
Oh so to make this clear for all readers, you are saying that you left the church, or was excommunicated, and now suffer from a chronic case of "ears that itch."
You live in a country, that provides you security to worship God in the same fashion as did the early Gnostic, because they too thought there wasn't any real organization, and you only had to believe.
Again this isn't what the apostles, nor JESUS CHRIST taught in order to enter the kingdom.
LDSapologist71 2 years ago
LDSapologist-
Yes, I have stated many times I left the church. So I've been there. I know the comebacks, the excuses, & what you're taught to say.
There are many, many scriptures which show this in the Bible, but here's the bottom line.
JESUS said,"I am the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE, NO ONE comes to the Father except through ME."
John 14: 6
No metion of anything else.
I believe Jesus.
ChristianAmerican 2 years ago
And he gave some apostles and some, prophets...for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry...Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God...
Ephesians 4:11-14
If you truly believed in Jesus Christ, then you would understand that prophets are necesary UNTIL we come to UNITY of the faith. The world is NOT one faith, and this will prove your fault for disobedience to the councils of the modern day prophets. Believe the WHOLE bible!

THELDSLIFE-
Something just struck me & I neede to get back on & ask...
ChristianAmerican 2 years ago
@ChristianAmerican
THELDSLIFE 2 years ago
THELDSLIFE-
All Christians who accept & follow Jesus Christ know that when they stand before God at judgement, Jesus has promised to be their defender.
ChristianAmerican 2 years ago
THELDSLIE-
So far, youve called me a name & judged me, youve put forth an entire doctrine that you haven't been able to back up by any scripture, & you've told me that you can't believe everything your prophets say- even when it's in your own Doctrine of Salvation!
So- I'm going to call it a night. I'll check back tomorrow to see if you ever answered my question on the scripture verses, & also to see if you answered what you believe re JS being the passport to salvation

Neither a Parrot or a Pawn should you be...
neither is it well to be forever the prince or the pauper for all who remain in these 4 catagories have a terrible time accepting truth; but that we must be Priests unto the most high God and be anointed to come forth at the morning of the first resurrection clothed with honor. Which calling comes from the priesthood of God. All ought to be ordained by the Lord through his servants so we may join John as he says, "we have been washed clean!" Rev 1:5-6
THELDSLIFE 2 years ago
THELDSLIFE-
It doesn't say that at all. Are you sure you have the right verse?
BTW- to catagorize people in the way you are is to judge them.

I have to say THELDSLIFE- I sure like to get you talking. You can tell so much by your humility & meekness that you are a "true servant of God."
You make a pretty strong case for us "parrots & pawns" of the Bible. (Which actually is a pretty good thing to be.) =)
ChristianAmerican 2 years ago
@ChristianAmerican
No judgment rendered; explanations only
Folks who act as pawns or parrots generally use the words given to them and parrot those words; ie, quotes Journal of Discourses and parrot them after the manner in which are taught to read them; ie, via a pamphlet, book, etc. None of those thoughts came from you. Pawns can also be Parrots; pawns are moved on a chessboard and have no real authority on the board but they who are deemed more wise than they tell them when and how to move.
THELDSLIFE 2 years ago
THELDSLIFE-
Of course they didn't come from me. They were quotes. Quotes of a hymn you hold dear in your church. Quotes of prophets & apostles in your church.
I believe you were quoting Nephi, as well?
Believe me, none of those thoughts I posted would ever come from me. Are you saying they are false?
ChristianAmerican 2 years ago
@ChristianAmerican
There is no doubt that words were spoken and recorded... but when folks read from the Journal of Discourses, it is not so named the Journal of Doctrine. When people read from the History of the Church, it is not called
The Gospel of the Church;
These discussions were necessary and the history of the church is simply that; its history. There are many learning revelations in the early days of the church and those folks discussed them at length working towards understanding.
THELDSLIFE 2 years ago
THELDSLIE-
"Journal of Discourses...not doctrine or gospel"
So how do you know when to listen to & believe your prophets, or when to know they're just spouting nonsense? Do you believe those quotes? Do you believe everyone will have to pass thru Joseph Smith first before they enter God's Kingdom?
ChristianAmerican 2 years ago
@ChristianAmerican

THELDSLIFE 2 years ago
You are so full of crap, CA, the book of Acts has already killed off Jesus Christ, and he already ascended, bigotted renob!
Acts 3:23-24 is a OBVIOUS reference to Joseph Smith.
LDSapologist71 2 years ago 2
@LDSapologist71
THELDSLIFE 2 years ago
LDSapologist-
Let me begin by saying when you put "already killed off Jesus Christ"- that makes me shudder. It proves just how reverent you are towards Him.
"Bigotted renob"- that makes no sense.
"Acts 3:23-24 is an obvious reference to Joseph Smith"- What version of the Bible are you using? (I'm sure I can guess)
ChristianAmerican 2 years ago
KJV---
They are the Acts of the apostles, and the book was written after the crucification and resurrection of Jesus.

God says that ALL BELIEVERS in Jesus Christ are his church now.
You are absolutely correct with the scripture- you can't serve two masters. You must choose between Joseph Smith/church & God.
Do you really want to stand by that statement that God said there was NO other way than the church?

Well Joseph Smith is the prophet of the Last dispensation; much like those living in the dispensation of Peter will have to pass through him... those who lived in the days of Moses will have to pass through him...Those living in the Days of Abraham and Noah are the same; Each man who held dispensation keys will have to be reckoned with at that final day of judgment so they can rid their garments of the blood of them who denied Gods word.

THELDSLIFE-
And where can I find that in the Bible?
ChristianAmerican 2 years ago
@ChristianAmerican
There have been at least 6 dispensations of time and 6 people who hold special significance in each period of time;
Adam; the father of all living,
Noah- the prophet of the flood,
Abraham- the prophet of the covenant,
Moses the prophet and redeemer in Israel, Peter- the rock upon which Christ established his gospel;
Joseph Smith- prophet of the last dispensation before the return of Christ.
All things are coming to light via modern revelations; its the fullness of times.
THELDSLIFE 2 years ago
@ChristianAmerican

Gotcha!
