In case anyone was wondering, you don't necessarily have to order a bunch of flints online or anything, you can just take one our of a dead BIC lighter. Just make sure to cut it in half after you take it out because at first it'll be too big for the zippo.

I can't unscrew the bloody screw on the bottom of the zippo. It's so tight that when I tried to use the case part of it actually broke off when I tried to turn it. Even a pair of pliers didn't help.

Anything I can do? (Yes - I was turning it the right way.)

I need a little help with my zippo cos I don't know what's wrong with it. When I try to turn the wheel, it gets stuck and I can't turn it enough for it to spark. It was used, but it worked perfect when I got it. Then one day it just wouldn't turn. If anyone can tell me what the problem may be and/or how to fix it, I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

P.S. I'm not sure if it's a real Zippo, cos it doesn't say it anywhere, but even if it's fake I'm sure the mechanics should be somewhat similar.

@trevor6744 You dont really know when the flint is "low". You just replace it when the lighter stops sparking when you spin the flint wheel. When its low on fluid the flame wont be as high and a lot of times wont burn well enough to stay lit for more than a few seconds. The "lever" to the left of the flint wheel is the "cam", its what keeps the lid closed. Its also responsible for the famous "zippo click" when you open and close it.

Get 2x 125 ml of premium zippo fluid, 2x genuine zippo wicks and 2x genuine zippo flints (each containing 6 flints) for only £5.

I got it off amazon and it is well worth it. Just try searching some of those words.

its supposed to ignite after 1 or 2 strikes,(not 5 or 6 strikes which is my case)

@progekone Any smoker shop should sell them, really depends on where you live. Some grocery stores also sell them. Have a look around and im sure you'll find one! BTW, You can use flints from a cheapy BIC lighter too!

Thank you so much for this video. My gf bought me my 1st zippo a week ago and I had no idea how they worked. I opened the screw to put in the fluid (I know now you don't need to do this) and something fell out and I found a little silver thing that I thought was the flint so I put that in there and it didn't work and I was getting pretty pissed, then I saw your videos and I know what a flint is and how to refill it properly (although I put way to much fluid at first) AND replace the flint)
