Amazing! I love that style of music - I want to learn how to play like that. It has a great feel to it. How did you learn to play like that? Any books/rudiments/exercises that you would recommend that would help me get there. I love swing!
Sorry just found this message. The Gene Krupa Drum Method, which you can get online has all the rudiments and some of his solos transcribed from the Video Gene Krupa Jazz Legend.
I'm playing mainly paradiddles and single triplets in the solo. You need to absorb the music to get the fell. So you need to study the great drummer like Baby Dodds, Zutty Singleton Krupa etc. Daily practice of the rudiments is a must. Keep swinging
May I suggest that you attempt to post something more enlightening about this wonderful music, or would that be stretching your obviously limited vocabulary too far? Preferably leaving out the expletives.
may i suggest you not attack anyone who just gave you a fucking compliment, and not be a complete asshole to someone who likes the music and enjoys your drumming enough to post a comment thanking you for posting that vid. i was inspired by the vid but by your actions, now i'm just angered that some people can't take a compliment. oh well, you probably don't have any friends because of your poor social skills, so for that, i feel sorry for you. have a great life douche bag
Dear me, we have touched a nerve. I see you are still not able to string a sentance together without swearing though. Also, this is from another fan nothing to do with John Petters, although I am sure his views on your comments would be the same.I wont even bother to comment on your socal skills, other than I am so glad that I do not move in your "social" circles.
Watch the video again and this time noticed the Gene Krupa fill you put in, similar, but you made it your own. Thanks for putting a lesson of yours into musical context in a live gig!
Great! Thank you so much for posting this. My toddler son loves it, too.

great use of rudiments and keep studying Gene Krupa's incredible style of drumming. There is some sweet technique you can get off him.

What a swingin' trio, I love it! You need to come to Idaho to the Sun Valley swing festival so I can see you live, and dance to your swingin' beat!!!
