@xxleosk8xx I am Brazilian to, I am from acre, I will go to Rio to visit my cousin I have never been there. I never saw a favela. Its looks horrible,but Brazil is not just favelas , and we brazilians know that. But the gringos got to get a little more info, I don´t know why the come to Rio,Sp etc... to go to favelas...its dangerous n everybody knows that I will travel to Rio for the first time,but not to visit the favelas

@thetrales I didn't understand your comment, may some foreigners see those housing different from an usual, well I feel sorry for those living in that condition, is hard life, being poor in developed countries at least you have housing, not precarious health care, can feed well etc...here is improving a lot and I'm very happy with that, but the poorness built within many years will not end up within few years, anyway the most important we know is that development is progressing slowly but prog..

sometimes its tougher to be poor in a developed country thatn in a a developing country. Where as in a developed country people around you have anything they can ask for, it makes the poverty stand out a lot more and more difficult to take where as in developing countries, as harsh aas it sounds, people are poor as a whole, therefore you are not confronted with the luxury and whealth, poor people in developed countries are surrounded by.

@1wieauchimmer1 Depends the country you're talking from, I've been in many developed and developing countries. There are many developed countries that can offer decent living for its citizens, even being poor the opportunities of getting out of poverty are huge, much more than developing ones, that's why many people from developing countries immigrate to developed ones trying a better living condition. Here in Brazil this difference between poor and rich is stricking harsh, worse than developed.

It's a damn shame governments don't learn that in some cases you can't keep fighting fire with fire. Yes you need to clear out the heads of the drug rings. but you then need to provide the community with sustainable opportunities for jobs and extracurricular activities. the education system needs funding. not just money for guns and swat teams.

This doesn't happen in the whole nation... If only they could solve this in Rio, it would be fine. I live in Fortaleza, Northeastern region of the country and I tell that is a really good place compared to this. Of course, not to mention that there aren't ANY problems here, but is a minimal scale. So I come to believe that violence can grow in any place nowadays.
