@bunga707 No it's NOT an easter egg. Easter eggs does not require cheating. This is the way VALVe (and probably other devs) rolls. These boxes are in all HL games and they are mostly used by TV's.

(EP1, after coming up to the surface, noclip out, find a box, kill Kleiner, then NPC_CREATE NPC_ZOMBIE for some fun)

its there because when nihilanth teles you to that place wheres that fish you can find that gargantua there on the second time. so it goes to that place from that box. :) so its not hidden

yea my weak spot on the final boss was i could never get away from the portals and i went in the 4th time and a garg with red eyes was in my face and the gargs creep me out

Actually if you go through a green portal a 4th time he replaces the Vortigaunts. It's not really hidden. =/

dude when final boss hits you with a green ball it teleports you to a room where you have to fight your way out of a room or climb

the third time you eneter the combat room garg is there

the extra valve room is obviously where the garg is kept until you've been teleported 3 times

he is then beamed to the room and you must fight him
