No. You have to get a separate electronics kit (Tamiya's multi-function kit) although if you shop around some places do them as a bundle with a kit.

Very fast if you have the right motor - probably about 40mph, although not measured! Most are fitted with slower but more powerful motors. The 2:12 truck is a Tamiya Scania cab fitted on a longer chassis (US truck) with an extra steering axle machined on. The cooling tower behind the cab is scratchbuilt.

Sitting comfortably? The basic truck is £200, radio gear £150, speed controller £25. Trailers start at £120 up to £300, sound & light kit is £200. Of course if you then want to customise or convert it it's a lot more. Some of the models on show are worth over £1000.
