Besides the Ghost versions, that Dirge will round out my whole Classics Seeker Collection. So glad I didnt have to drop a C-Note on a Gentei version. I did break down on getting me a Thundercracker though.....ouch.
oh, and in case you hadnt figured out by now, the nose cone is supposed to go down a little in robot mode to make more of a chestpiece, but I agree it does feel kind of cheap and its hard to get to look right in jet mode, for me anyway
I painted the eyes on mine (since the light piping is useless) and having eyes that stand out go a long way to making the head stand out, and not look so buried...but I was the same way when I got it... especially since his cockpit is tinted so dark it does even more to hide the head. It's sad because in general this figure is so close to being just outstanding, if just a piece here or there would move farther or easier.
That hasbro man, chargin us a $#!% ton for thses figures but giving us terrible quality and cheap design aspects. But this IS an awesome figure! Excellent review bro! Im uploading rotf arcee review tonight.
thanks! BTW....did the mod thingy after the vid but,......didnt do much good. i think its due to it being a different head sculpt from breakaway. thrust has a longer head sculpt which gets in the way. and i dont feel like taking him apart again to fix that as well. -sigh- why do i have to do any "fixes" at all w/ these toys?
Ah, yeah i agree, shouldn't have to "fix" anything to begin with. I dont know what the deal with hasbro is. Back 25 years ago they didnt have all these quality issues. I guess thats the plus of die cast metal transformers. Even the plastic back then was a good solid plastic.
id like to think its because of the cost of "good" plastic now due to petroleum costs skyrocketing. also maybe a compensation for more engineering to result in more complex transformations and stylized designs......either way, hasbro is becoming quite the monopoly when it comes to the toy industry. they should have the funds and resources to step up they're quality control. just seems to be getting worse.....i could debate this forever lol
Yeah, i think we all could! They should have the funds, but i think they like the extra profit. Im the end they know we are still going to buy the latest transformers, as long as they look good lol. Im thinking deluxes are going to be around $13.99 to $14.99 when the third tf movie comes out.
Thats for sure lol. They were 12.99 here when the rotf movie came out, now they are 10.00-11.99 here. I live in Michigan, maybe its different here then.
yea, i think the guy that picked this up for me said they are on sale at walmart for like 10...speaking of wally world! cant wait to see if any of mine are gona have those ultra repaints! that hardhead is looking nice :)
This dude popped my thrust cherry too. Since then I went back and picked up the G1 and Generations. Cool fig, and cool review.

Yeah, the jet mode is called an "F-35 Lightning 2".
TheSwipe95 2 years ago
is that the actual jet mode or what it was inspired by?
FISTFULxOFxENERGON 2 years ago
That is the actual jet mode. I've seen pictures of the jet and it's on ROTF Breakaway's wikipedia profile.

That is a sexy jet.espically with the new paint scheme..and love that head sculpt.
I think te extra ankle articulation is maybe for better stancing..who knows. Keep up the great work man.
