  • fell in love with judith and her amazing voice way back in the earl sixties and love her still

  • So beautiful, Cant believe Ive never heard this. I grew up with the seekers and Judith Durhams voice seems even more beautiful today than it did back in the day.

  • I finally found a early music video of this earth angle barefoot! WHY not more?? even thoughit's b/w & very choppy with the ocean in the back ground plus bein nearly 50 yrs. old..

  • she can sing but can she do the stupid things that Lady Gaga does?

  • Beautiful This lady can sing

  • learnt this song in primary school in Glasgow! love it.

  • @moggie58wa Learned it in primary school in Ireland around 1955!

  • One of the first versions I remember of this song was on an album by Catherine McKinnon called "The Voice of an Angel" - perhaps some other aging Canadians also remember it - still one of the best and I am a long time Judith and Seekers fan.

  • WOW, what a beautiful song! Judith is forever!

  • Without a doubt in my mind, Judith possesses the most beautiful voice ever. It is impossible to pay attention to any other object or subject while she is singing -- she is totally mesmerizing and captivating. She and the Seekers made my life more complete and happy over the years. I thank them from the bottom of my heart.

  • A voice of an angel ..........absolutely beautiful ......am proud to have been around when she was on this earth

  • Still my number one girl.

  • Eriskay is where Charles Edward Stuart landed in 1745 in his ill judged attempt to regain the throne of his forefathers.

It is a small island at the southern end of the Western Isles, near South Uist.

  • @BillDFC

Thanks for giving some historical background, it adds to my enjoyment of an already compelling song.

  • At last ive seen her feet.

  • My father always enjoyed Judith Durham and when he died I played this song along with a montage of his life in photos. This song can only be sung properly by Judith. Thankyou for making my father's life that little bit more joyful.

  • Since she was right next to the sea, Judith should have worn a mermaid costume. I can think of a few more songs that I would love to hear her sing. One of them is Glad That I Live Am I, one of the hymns from singing practice when I was at Primary School. That song should be the Pollyanna anthem!

  • @Ilovecats112233 Judith in a mermaid costume! That would send a lot of guys over the edge. The very thought has me excited.

  • @QueenReigns1 Aye, that's the one! I'd always thought it was the ideal sort of song for Judith's voice. And I can think of others from my school days, such as "I'm Going To Paint A Perfect Picture, a world of make-believe, no more hunger war or suffering, a world I like to see ..." or even Daddy's Taking Us To The Zoo Tomorrow. Not to mention the Christmas songs and carols we used to sing, like Little Donkey, Carry Mary or "Barboushca, oh Barboushca We're Following A Star" and The Cowboy Carol.

  • Oh Judith ... if only I had your talent and confidence! I walked all the way to the top of the hill just to sing this heavenly melody in the open air, yet when I finally got there I couldn't bring myself to do it because I just couldn't relax. I was afraid somebody would hear, and if they should hear, I wouldn't want them to hear anything less than perfection (in other words, like Judith). If she was my older sister, I'd adore her yet I'd be comparing myself with her all the time!

  • If you are not moved by Judith Durham singing this you should get your vital signs checked. Soooo beautiful.

  • Anyone know where this is?

  • @jimrothstein One of the outer Hebridean Islands in Scotland. It's gorgeous as all these islands are.

  • One of the very best Judy Durham

  • I think 'enchanting' is the best word for the vocal, the music and the video itself

  • One of my favorites featuring the absolute talent and beauty of Judith Durham!

  • i love the eriskay love lilt, i found it because i had 2 eriskay ponies and decided to find out more about eriskay and its amazing breed!

  • Lol you're aware that this song is about the island on the West of Scotland, no ponies? Sorry if that was a really stupid question :)

  • Yes, the isle of eriskay :) they have an exeptionqally rare breed of pony on there :)) But then it says ''whem im lonely dear WHITE heart'' i have a hunch its talking about these little gray ponies that loved there ;)

  • Lol there are lots of things which are white on Eriskay. I think the white means purity because it's then contrasted with the 'black night' :)

  • @alalia111215 Don't you mean Shetland?

  • @planetyouranus22

No i mean eriskay, google the breed :)

  • Sounds beautiful, and how lovely is the young Judith!

  • Haunting but absolutely enchanting!

  • klawa pieśń wspaniała ponad wszystko - wspaniała w wykonaniu King's Singers :)

  • Thanks for posting, hopefully it won't be deleted this time.

  • I hope it won't be deleted again either!!! I love this song ♪

  • Lovely, absolutely lovely.
