@78rsantos He has a wife and he bases a couple of his art pieces off of her. Don't be rude, just because he isn't macho or skinny doesn't mean he's a stereotypical lonely comic book artist. Not everyone is nice, there are plenty people out there who's attitude is quit blunt to not just fans but everyone. plus you could have just caught him on a bad day you never know.

I saw AH! at C2E2 on Saturday. He was hard at work on a sketch, though it looked like he was having some trouble earlier in the day, getting the layout properly. When I went back by his area at the end of the convention, he was working on a sketch of Maleficent from 'Sleeping Beauty.' Generally, I don't like to talk to the artists when the are hard at work, but he did notice me standing there, and gave me a polite 'hello.' I'm still in awe of that one piece he did of Rogue in her green outfit.

wherever you live, you need to find a comic book store, or a good bookstore. A good bookstore has a wide variety of comics and graphic novels, not just superhero stuff. Once you get away from superhero comics you start to realize what good art can also be. Paul Pope is a good example of what I mean. He has done Batman, but he did it it totally his own way. Mobius is another great artist in comics. Mike Mignola is great.

Marko Djurdjevic uses the standard Staedtler wood pencils with the grey gum eraser stuck on the back. He sharpens only for the details. I sat next to him for an hour so I would know.

It's a mechanical pencil. There's hardly a comic artist that ever uses regular wood pencils. Having to sharpen all the time would be a waste of time.

I personally find it most helpful to draw from life, still life, looking at magazines, etc. then go from there, adding your own personal style to your sketching.
