they weren't a 'pack of lesbos', only the drummer Kate is gay. The others were more interested in having babies than going forward with the band. I think they'd have made it big, but girl bands ALWAYS break up

Gotta hand it to this pack of lesbos, they rocked hard, very unique sound. Oddly enough, a riff from the Billy Squire song 'Lonely is the Night' reminded me of these dudettes, so I looked them up.
This song reminds me of those hot summer days when my friends and I would smoke a joint, then walk around lower Manhattan all afternoon and just hang out and watch people. This song just invokes that kind of mood---chill, cool, mellow...yet sort of captures that subdued and hip energy of downtown NYC.
True New Yorkers, this band. Not sure if they were all born and raised in NYC, but their sound and style was unmistakable. Love their music still. 90s were awesome.
I remember those days. Most likely late 80s-90s. There were a lot of great women in music during this time and MTV proudly played their music. Luscious Jackson came out at the right time.

A masterpiece; the final lyrics are goosebump-inducing for me to even think about.
