Between the costs to remove the asbestos from both buildings, the empty office space, electrical repairs, and other repairs he was losing money. It would have cost him billions to make the updates to each building and he became the owner with a $15 million deposit.

Funny, we never got one of those checks! It must be an "urban thing". They do run a "what's average" in a community by size and how much of their product was prescribed and they will meet with a Dr. and ask why isn't the numbers greater for their product? My hubby says he practices (in a rural setting) preventive medicine... and the people can't afford the new drugs... then he tells them to get out & stop wasting his time.

Actually Willie is mostly right! Decentralization and local sustainability is the way to go. It's only the subsidization that I disagree with. Maybe there is a case to be made for it as a short-term expedient, but I tend to be distrustful of gov't intervention and redistribution of money.

I love Willie to death, and he's right on most issues, but I have to disagree here. Subsidies are generally a horrible collectivist policy. Is it not Big Agri's cozy relationship with the gov't that is mostly to blame for hurting family farmers? If hemp was legalized, if income taxes were eliminated, and if we got back to sound money and free markets, the family farmers would naturally prosper like they did before all of this gov't intervention came about!

They could have created new jobs in the process. 700 Billions dollars is a lot of money. They don't make the wisest choice because that would mean we, the people, would be better off as well.
