At the end of the day, Nixons are nothing more than a holder for a Chinese made quartz lozenge. I have much more respect for a watch manufacturer that creates a movement that is accurate using gears and rotors than one that follows design trends making wrist clocks that make you more effective at slapping women.

@BeeredUpChardy21 - It's holding up ok so far. I wear mine everywhere including the gym so I tend to abuse it more then most people. there are some very tiny micro scratches from me banging the watch against metal gym equipment every day but nothing noticeable.

@3DON291 - Breitlings are cool but I prefer a big, simple, clean looking watch personally. The Breitlings have a "complex" and "advanced" look that is not my style. I come from a machinist background so the production quality of a watch really influences how I look at a watch. I have broken the $16k/month record many times over since then but haven't seen the need to get another watch yet. Happy with all the ones I have already.

@TaiTheAsianWonder With $16,000 you could have easily bought an IWC Big Pilot in stainless steel. I would much rather an IWC than a Nixon. Nixon watches are overhyped. overpriced pieces of bling with cheap movements. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing bad about owning sub $500 watches, but you can do a lot better than a Nixon at that price.

@xPULPxVELVETx - The watch is very durable and tough. I train with it on at the gym all the type. I wear lifting straps with it on while shrugging n deadlifting over 405 lbs. all the time. Some people like to "baby" their watches, cell phones, laptops, etc. I don't baby nothing n abuse the hell out of my watches, laptops, etc. I didn't pay $400 for a watch to let it sit on a shelf. So YES, it holds up to physical demands. Be aware of weight imbalances though on your arm cuz it's heavy.

@jaklakai - I don't know your budget bro. All I can say is this, watches are similar to girls. It's better to have one "badass" watch then ten "average" watches. Having one girlfriend that's a perfect 10 is better than having 10 "average" looking girls.  Just my opinion. Anyway, I strongly believe this Nixon watch is cool in school, good for clubbing, and still look professional for the work environment. If you can get the same quality for a cheaper price then do it!

2 quick questions: I am a law student and want a new watch but dont want to make any mistakes because i cant afford it yet:

1) is the watch silent i.e. you dont get annoyed by a ticking sound?

2) the crown at 9:00 looks to protrude pretty far out...does it dig into your wrist?

@Juanthyme1 - Yes, the watch is silent. There is absolutely no ticking. The crown does not dig into your wrist as long as you wear the watch on the left hand. If you wear the watch on right hand, the crown will dig into the back of your palm when you go to bend the wrist at a ninety degrees. So just keep the watch on the left hand and there will be no problems. Good luck with law school bro, I wish I was smart enough for that shit! Study on bro!

@willytwix - The ones with 3 buttons have a chronograph (stopwatch) and come with 3 small dials inside the face and the ones with only two buttons do not have a chronograph and there are no smaller dials inside the main face.

@jarrett040288 - When I worked at Palazio Gentleman's club (2nd biggest upscale strip club in Austin), our general manager had over 150 popular name brand watches in his expensive ass collection and he wore this Nixon more than any other watch he had. Just cause a watch costs a lot of money does not mean it's a good quality watch. A quality watch is a quality watch regardless what brand it is or who makes it. Besides, when you get it at Amazon, you can always return it if you don't like it.

So I make my review based on my past manufacturing experiences. FYI, Nixon is a popular surfing, skating n extreme sport company in southern California. If you are not in the extreme sport scene, you may not know who Nixon is. Hope this helps. The blue one is nice bro!

I do prefer the white version that has the "polished stainless steel" vs. the "chrome plated" version. The chrome just makes it real "flashy" and I don't need the extra flash when I got a grandfather clock on my wrist already. Lol.

@akksyde213 - The gun metal is really kickass and I can't say that it's better than the white, or vice versa. Just matter of preference. My eyesight is not good and the grey numbers on top of the black face makes it slightly difficult for me to read the time when I'm training people at the gym because the numbers are "camouflaged". If your eyes are bad like mine, you might want to consider the lime color version. I included link in description box for you to see what I'm talking about.

I bought one a few months ago; this is far and away the best watch purchase I've ever made. I love this big, heavy brute of a watch, and I agree with every word you say in this video. The only downside is the cheap clasp, and pin as described. I waited so long for a big, meaty watch with a wide bracelet that stays wide all the way around, with solid steel links. It's so disappointing that Nixon skimped on the el-cheapo clasp. The whole package is simply awesome, and deserves better.

@chewb1000 - LOL, I love the way you described it as it being big & meaty cause it is so true! Having an engineer mindset, I always like to test shit out so I tied a rope around the watch (with the clasp locked) & attached it to a 45 lbs. plate & surprisingly enough, I was able to lift the 45 lbs. plate off the floor without the clasp busting open or bending the pins so I would not necessarily call it a cheap clasp. I just wished they would have made the clasp pin same size as bracelet pins.
