This NEVER gets old. I've seen the original and the sentiment is right on target. I am a Canadian Maritimer and there are still lots of guys like these two who still have these dreams. I have known and still know several. Thanks for the posting.
"Doctoring jobs and lawyering jobs, jobs for me and you!" After seeing this classic parody I had to find a copy of "Goin Down The Road." It took some doing, but fortunately I was able to find one.
@ter521fad You can find the "Mistake by the Lake" at the end on 11:18 to the left of the screen...It looks like a parking structure. My guess is the camera was situated on the western most bridge linking the CNE with Ontario place. The car is driving west-bound on Lakeshore Blvd.
Classic. A film by Canadians for Canadians produced by Americans. I live in Toronto, and Yonge St. has changed a lot since then but Yonge St. is still Yonge St.
I had no idea until today that this was a parody of an actual Canadian movie (Goin' Down the Road - 1970). I had always that it was more or less a send-up of typical Canadian films
Thanks to great Canadian Beer I have had a snootful many times in Toronto many times but never a pot full or a pot of gold.

There's a rainbow in Toronto where the maritimers are bold. They always get a potfull-but they never get a pot of gold.
I love John Candy with his goofy Pete McGraw grin.
