people allways chating bad about smooth jazz, when a "serious " jazz saxophonist can play with the sound Kim Waters, Pamella Williams , Paul Taylor or even Kenny G offer us, call me on my phone
reat composition, fantastic solo..great musician and great man:in his music is reflected the contrast between the suffering of his disability and the great energy to convey all his musical talent
It's an insult to the genius of Michel Petrucciani to label this as "smooth jazz"'... you won't hear solos like this very often on "smooth jazz" stations unless they are playing something like Paul Desmond's "Take Five" for the 10th time that day. Petrucciani was a serious jazz artist with awesome chops who could hold his own with ANYone. I feel blessed to have seen him play live.
You dont know anything about music, this song is SMOOTH JAZZ, and is not an insult in smooth jazz we got solos like Bob Baldwin, Bob James, Jeff Lorber...great saxophonists like Grover washington Jr, Eric Darius, Gerald Albright...etc....if you dunno shit about music dont talk
@deepkeel65 Stupid you dont have no culture dont know about music , please dunnot talk haha,-....smooth jazz is a genre of music really great, and we got the bests solos in the contemporary jazz music, Michael Petrucciani was one of them because if you know just a lil bit about music in general, you would know that this song belongs to the genre of SMOOTH JAZZ, like Bob Baldwing, Bob James, Gregg Karukas, Jeff Lorber...etc
I should have seen him in Villeparisis (25,000 people city close to Paris) in early 1999, we learnt he cancelled just a few minutes before the beginning of the show, because of his illness...
A few weeks later, he was gone...
RIP Michel
He still lives toward his music, with a little help from by beloved Anthony Jackson on 6-string contrabass guitar...

Just heard Michel for the first time.......Simply Divine and Utter Brilliance. His hands are blessed! *I still love smooth jazz and hundreds of composers from multiple genres. Play on Gentlemen!

@ccalculus You have no idea of how much I envy you for being able to see him live... He's my mentor... it's a shame I found out about him after he passed away.
Michel Petrucciani un grande..Grande del Jazz de todos los tiempos...Nunca te olvidaré gigante del teclado . Le diste riqueza a mi corazón y mi alma con tú música. Siempre te recordaremos como el hombre del sombrero...Looking Up

I got lucky to see Michel a few times on stage, his talent was unbelievable... He was THE PIANIST, such an artist with a very dry sense of humor !
We miss you and your music Michel !
