I USED TO HAVE A SHOVEL HANDLE SHOVED UP MY ASS, I LOOKED AND SOUNDED JUST LIKE THESE FELLOWS, BUT MY DOCTOR REMOVED IT, I WISH THE SAME GOOD FORTUNE TO THESE PATHETIC CREATURES.
@Goodh3art - 'YES!', I BELIEVE SO TOO, THAT WAY SODOMITES LIKE YOU WOULD KNOW MY ASS WAS TAKEN!
THE 'SOUND' HERE WAS OK - SAID IT WAS JUST LIKE ME, BUT A BIT STIFF, LIKE HAVING A SHOVEL HANDLE SHOVED UP YOUR ASS - PLEASE DON'T GET SO TURNED ON BY SUCH TALK.
haunting, I remember waiting for my dad to come home from work, he drove D-8 catepiller in the vast fields in the Central Valley of California....he usually was covered head to toe in dirt but he would hoist me up and we went in time to wash up and watch the Cousin Herb Show from Bakersfield with its star Buck Owens as mom readied Dinner......this sounds very much like it... simple but distinctly early Buck....
This Video is just perfect,... You boys have got it right on ,Odd's voice ,the steel is
awesome...we love It here in Canada.
I listen to all 10 videos and they are super.... I am a huge Buck Owens fan and you are bringing it all back.....Thank you " Bakersfield " Beautiful job........Fred S.
That is incredible. I'm a dang okie, and son, there ain't nobody round here play that nice. Everybody sings about their tractors and mud and how "they are country?! it's terrible, Good to hear somebody playing the stuff. And in excellent style.
I've playd guitar in that band when they started up in the late 90's. I quit because of the 90% Buck Owen's stuff....It became boring in all ways. Buck's music is fine, but you can't play a hole concert with only Buck song's. But good luck guy's, i prefer variation.
@fanmarti09 It is the drawback to being an instrument for a specific sound. The audience may have several country singers in their collection and when they have a need to to hear something specific, it's people like this band and you that delivers. Thanks for doin it for awhile. I bet you all got a great reception.
All I can say is "WOW" if THIS is not the best resurrection of the Buck Owens and the Buckaroos "Bakersfield Sound" nothing is. Thank you guys for a great song and please record more soon!! Music is a language that transcends the language barrier, and for a group of guys from Norway, it sure sounds as if you just fell of of a Greyhound bus from Bakersfield, CA.
great tribute....5stars and on my playlist. check out my page, just as a side note, Doyle Holley the bass player for buck is my is a distant cousin( he is my mom's cousin). peace.
Thanks you all so very much for your kind comments.
It`s impossible to do full honor to the legendary work of Buck, Tom, Don, Doyle and Willie, - they were one of a kind.
And in as far as you like what you hear and see, it`s a tribute to the everlasting quality of their musical legacy, rather than to our efforts at trying to copy them.
It`s good to see that the steel guitar evokes memories of Steel Guitar Legend Tom Brumley, and today - by the way - is his birthday. A dear, departed friend.
Fabulous, all the way around! Steinar not only has Tom Brumley's licks nailed on pedal steel, he even has Tom's smile right! I sure would like to see more of these guys. Thanks for posting!
WOW!!! THIS is real country music played the way real country music is supposed to be played...Thank you for posting this I needed to hear some real country. You have done Buck and the Buckaroos justice here.
Odd : Wow , what a fine job you and " Bakersfield " are doing on this fine old buck Owens Ballad.. Your steel player is fantastic..Enjoy the sound very much..Bernie
what and who is this. I dont' know how I ran across this... it's spooky. I'm cryin my heart out. Buck was my favorite all of my life. And yes, I miss Don too. This is so unreal. Is there anyway to get a copy of this? Not even sure I could listen to it withou crying

I should add that Willie Cantu is alive and kicking, as the last surviving member of the Buckaroos from their heyday in the 60´ties.
He teaches drums, and performs in Nashville. He visited us in Norway last January, gave a drum clinique and performed at a concert.
The old Cantu magic is still there, and he is a dynamite drummer. Great guy!
