  • masking tape is the answer, how didn't I think before?

  • House of 1,000 Corpses thats who this guy reminds me of, the one guy yeah lol if you seen it you know who im talking about.

  • does anyone know to use like an 8 ohm speaker for this. like would it work or blow the speaker?

  • @matthewtchernev123 Can you get into more depth of what you mean, and ill try help you :)

  • @itslife56 like do you have to use that kind of speaker?

  • A step bit and drill press make things much easier.

  • I have some knob things from an old amp I want to use, but I can. Take them out. Help?

  • Nice sneeze block? 1:39

  • Just made an Atari punk console its my first synth electronic music device thingy but have no imagination about the box for it

  • 11:00 dubstep

  • I have a question could I hypothetically put a source of music to it and then make a dubstep

  • I have a question. If you use a single strand wire do you still need to put solder on it before soldering to the component ? I am a newbie so...;)

  • @luftair Yeah, why not? It makes the soldering process easier, it also helps as a test to see if the wire is clean enough to make the solder stick to it.

  • Terrific visuals! This was great!

Excellent step by step instructions as well.

  • 2:21 the booklet does say you should do it that way

  • Why are you joining the 2 pins from the pot? I think that will change the value of it. because a current can now also run from 1 to 3 making it 2 resistors parallel.

  • I bet hes a virgin.

  • @LTUMaskMAN I bet he's not. Look at the wedding ring.

  • @LTUMaskMAN i bet your a 11

  • Gr8 vid, I make stuff sometimes. I use both leaded and unleaded (yuk!) solder. I find both types irritate my nose, even though I hold my breath when the fumes appear. Is this a problem for you and, if so, have you found a way 'round it? Stain. :o)

  • @hoofbags Get a fume extractor.

  • Do you do all the music in the videos with your DIY Audio Equipment?

  • I like how the layout process is partly practical but partly artistic. Always a fun stage. I tried to strike this balance on my optical compressor build, it's all ergonomic and logical, but slightly quirky too! Plain grid layout is a bit dull.

  • perhaps you could use that thing for the Doctor Who theme.

  • Ahh, these videos are getting me through soldering 100+ wires on a project im working on at the moment, im getting there!

  • THOSE, SIDEBURNS.

  • what are the banana connectors for ?

  • 01:11 that one with red knobs looks like a Nintendo controller. What noise does it make?

  • Y U NO USING RADIAL CAPS?

  • before i watched this vid i thought you bought that synthesizer

  • problem solved..!!! i like that..!

  • what are the red circles on top? please reply

  • @TheSupertecnology

they're banana sockets for banana plugs

  • @TheSupertecnology Knobs.

  • DUBSTEP

  • @98JMA

The one he pulls out at 1:04.

  • I just bought the kit and had a question. I understand the red bindings are I, M, O, and Q which connects to SYNC output, Signal Output, AM input, and Freq sweep i/p. What about the two input jacks next to power? Looking at the schematic I'm assuming he connected the half swing sync o/p to the speaker, but what is the second i/p jack connected to? My kit only came with one audio jack.

  • Dj colin on the deck

  • it would be nice if you once in a while would upload some of your creations...

  • I like your sidebruns arrrghhh :P

  • I am glad that I just make the demos. Great video, thanks

  • what were the red things on top?

  • I Thought ryobi was only in australia in a certain shops, where u get from

  • @jayng197 I've got plenty of Roybi tools here in the US, got them from Home Depot.

  • @jayng197 pretty much everywhere sells ryobi tools

  • Comment removed

  • I built this and would like to clear up any confusion that others may encounter.

The 4 red posts I connected to I, M, P & Q. Since the kit only came with one audio input jack, I used a switch to toggle the audio output from M to P.

I added a 5th (black) binding post for ground (not included in the kit) and 4 red leds to indicate what position the 4-pos switch was in (also not included in the kit). The 4 leds were added to use a second selection from the four-pos switch (there are three sets)

  • wow only 64 bucks wtf!!!!!!

  • Use your new gadget to high-pass the headache bass out of the soundtrack so I can hear you. Some people have hearing difficulties.

  • Thumbs up if you came to this video from another colin's lab video

  • How about some labels for all the switches, pots, jacks, etc.? I have found that those are almost as important as the box itself.

  • i dont even hv a solder gun( is this what....that thing called?) but watch almost all video from collin lab lol

  • @popeye0shing You got it quite right. Solder Gun is the one shape like gun (duh :) ). The one Collin used is called a Soldering Iron :)

  • @popeye0shing when I read your comment I saw soldier gun lool

  • @6:00 that's what I always do with those also.

  • If you are using a material other than thin plastic, make sure and calculate the proper drill rpm, and as you move toward harder materials, its a great idea to center punch/center drill your holes.

  • 50 people disliked this video

  • fantastic, thanks mate

  • Go make something, eh?

  • What are the 4 red circles on the top?

  • Collin, where are you? there is so much more we can learn from you with less than 5 minutes videos, and make live? soooo lame, that gives back a lame name for nerds, we where a proud race until those guys tilted their heads after putting down the welding masks.

  • collin how do you make these things like years of teaching your self electronics

  • I learned a few things! Thanks!

  • @sergio1020881 Try and tell that to a guitar player playing in front of 100,000 people when he needs to turn his volume up and the battery to power your volume circuit just died.

  • could you show a picture where you solder the jacks and audio jacks in?

  • Where did you get that enclosure?

  • @Fekillix Jameco Electronics

  • Is this kind of the same as a noisegenerator to jam, say, GSM traffic?

As in: I hook it up to 500 watts of transmitting power and the whole block goes down?

  • welcome to collin's dungeon... there is no going back!!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!

  • this is good eats meets something I'm interested in. lol.

  • I CANT HEAR YOU MY MOM IS MAKING SMOOTHIES WITH THE BULLET MIXER

  • Hello

I wonder if you can make a simple dj mixer board? like channel 1 and 2 and you can "blend" the songs together or add some effects to with some knobs maybe?

  • 11:43 - hes so stoned

  • RE: Removing the potentiometer stabilizer post at 5:50

Another solution is to file out a slot at 3 o'clock with a small file. This will prevent to pot from turning and the pots settings will be in the correct location - 0% at 7 o'clock 50% at 12 o'clock and 100% at 5 o'clock.

  • can some body say 34 and a virgin

  • You need to form a techno/alternative band and build all of your own instruments.

  • will the inner strands of an RJ21 cable be good for this kind of project?

you have 50 different colors to use

  • I'm observing this channel for a long time, and in the end I can say this guy is remarkable!

  • One day, they are going to make a helping hands tool with some sort of softer material applied on the alligator clips, because it seems that everyone, including myself, puts electrical tape on them.

  • Look at my chanel :)

  • im not good with electronics but can anyone tell me what will this device be used for?

  • @jahanzebk91 its a function generator.generates all kinds of signal waves for testing.

  • you could make it sound like R2-D2 lol!!

  • game boy sound factory

... i gonna do it... when i finished probably scream "IT'S ALIVEEE"

  • totaly awesome !!!

  • You should have put the rubber feet over the screws on the bottom to make it look nicer.

  • @snakerunner4 Sure... untill you need to open up the case again... rofl.

  • @snakerunner4 It's for his personal use and any views most people catch of the bottom of most devices is incidental and short lived so it doesn't make much of a difference.

  • Colin, you're videos are amazing.
