@dragonsage2008 the xmb is slow it can't multi task at all if your in the psn store and you get a message you have to get out of the store to read the message.. there's mandatory installs.. the trophies have to sync most of the time. as for features the only thing it has is a web browser but i think the xbox doesn't need it because if i want a to surf the web ill use my pc the web browser on the ps3 is clunky... xbox was made for gaming it focus in gaming unlike the ps3 which goes off course

Keadybuck- that's sucks you have to pay that amount; however, if you notice it's rather cheaper doing that than getting new one. Trust me, 12 days ago my ps3 got the flashing red light. So call Sony and bam! $149+$29 shipping and $10 of taxes less than $200 for my fat 80gb- but just balance things out they are bound to work.
My PS3 (fat 80GB) died. No lights, so power supply i think. I live in Ontario, Canada and Sony demands $169 + $30 shipping + taxes for a total of $224. Won't budge on their "flat rate" and I even got hung up on once when I tried to complain!
Mine was unaffected by this error :) but i got a time bug prob =Z it started BEFORE this wordwide error came. LBP crashed so i turned the PS3 off the safe way. I turned it bak on and it asked me 2 send a error report 2 Sony. So i did, since then the bug has been in my PS3 causing the time and date 2 reset to 1/1/09 12:00. If in stand-by the PS3 remembers the time and date fine. If i turn it off at the back/mains for more than 2 mins the bug happens :/ any1 know bout it or how 2 fix it?

True slimlines arnt but why would i need it backwards compatible when i still have a ps2 with a ps2 + ps1 memory card anyway. And u can play ps1 games on slimline ps3 just not ps2 and i used too have a 60gb ps3 before i got yellow light of death and none of the ps2 games worked properly anyway :P

@dragonsage2008 the xmb is slow it can't multi task at all if your in the psn store and you get a message you have to get out of the store to read the message.. there's mandatory installs.. the trophies have to sync most of the time. as for features the only thing it has is a web browser but i think the xbox doesn't need it because if i want a to surf the web ill use my pc the web browser on the ps3 is clunky... xbox was made for gaming it focus in gaming unlike the ps3 which goes off course

@dragonsage2008 having more space doesn;t mean it's better heck killzone 2 had a long story and it was boring and too make even worse the multiplayer only had 6 weapons to chose from i thought having more space that they will add more weapons but was disappointed halo has more weapons to chose from then killzone even tho it only has 6 gb use. xbox games make good games with less.. so having more isn't necessary good. developers prefer programing on the xbox than the ps3.

So call Sony and bam! $149+$29 shipping and $10 of taxes less than $200 for my fat 80gb- but just balance things out they are bound to work.

Mine was unaffected by this error :) but i got a time bug prob =Z it started BEFORE this wordwide error came. LBP crashed so i turned the PS3 off the safe way. I turned it bak on and it asked me 2 send a error report 2 Sony. So i did, since then the bug has been in my PS3 causing the time and date 2 reset to 1/1/09 12:00. If in stand-by the PS3 remembers the time and date fine. If i turn it off at the back/mains for more than 2 mins the bug happens :/ any1 know bout it or how 2 fix it?

1st thing the problem wasnt the console it was the netwrok, 2nd RROD isnt as much of a problem as it used to be and 3rd the PS3 had YLOD either way you look at it both consoles have their problems, Yes 360 owners pay for their online but at least our network has never crashed.

its a global problem of playstation ALL the old models of PS3 are down (ionline) the 'slim' models still work ...
thats why i prefer xbox 360 :)
