  • lol my parents grew up in Gisborn and my old man worked at that factory for a bit... said the factory made the beaches have a baked bean smell/taste...

  • I miss Gisborne

  • Being born in Gisborne in 1962 this was fascinating to see, to see what my city was like with I was a 2 year old. I laughed at 8m10sec where Selwyn asked a middle aged woman if she would like Gisborne to be "more gay!" which of course back then would have meant happy.

  • Besides all that, I enjoyed your film clip. I find it wonderful looking at those retro clips, of a time when I was in my childhood.

  • Cheers mate, thougt it might get a few locals looking an picking out some of their loved ones who may have long since gone.

  • Toogood was a fat arsehole!

  • Why was that? Did you know him or something?

  • I served him in a supermarket and he came across as an impatient, demanding, arrogant, spoilt and unthankful individual.

A broad generalization I know but first impressions do make an impact.

  • Far out, I once worked in a supermarket after school a long time ago and I served the actor John Bach who was off movies like Good Bye Pork Pie etc... The nicest guy you could meet even when he accidentally broke a botle of cream all over the floor, he offered to clean it all up.

  • I posted you a reply but it looks like it didn't stick.

  • On the other hand I met that celeb who currently promotes food products for New World on TV. He also hosted a kiwi food show recently. He asked me where the eggs were, I showed him and then I commented that I enjoyed his show, but he completely ignored me.

  • You should have turned around after that and said "But on the other hand, youre cooking sux shit" That would have got his attention. I got talking to Mike King once and he's a nice guy, I also asked him what he thought of that Canadian comedian straussman, King said that he was a real Ass Hole and can be quite a nasty bastard too. So I guess it's what their like off the camera that we all don't see.

  • I guess it's all to do with each individuals beliefs and values. Andy Anderson is a neat guy. He was friendly, warm, very engaging coupled with humility and honesty.

  • Yeah, the old Vauxhall Velox and fords, I remember as kids packing into those old beasts. Like you I was hoping to see any of the inlaws from Patutahi lol..

  • bloody old gizzy town. awesome to see the streets etc way back then, was kinda hoping to see the whanau. lol.

  • mean i'm from gizzy !! i'm living in perth now
