  • I was born in 81 and i would hate to know where i would be if i grew up listening to today's Music

  • this was my dads favorite song and it helped me deal with him passing but everytime i hear it i cry too and so to your dad there is no reason to hide it this is a very good song

  • 'Tea For The Tillerman' was my dad's favourite album back in the day, he was a smart and strong guy but once I cought him crying while listening to this song, he tried to quickly cover his tears. Now when I listen to this album it's me with the tears in my eyes, 'Father And Son', 'Where Do The Children Play ?'....emotional stuff.

  • tea for the tillerman is in my top '1' favourite albums ;)

  • sooooo hot

  • he found his nectar, then he tasted it and decided that it did not taste good...just took him 30 years to figure it out. Miles from nowhere..guess i'll take my time...

  • @polmaccaba01 you should have been there

  • Best song ever

  • we all so gou tu nouhere

  • Heard this song on the brothers bloom

    very good music.

  • i don't care even he got no religion.he got the gift to make music good.PEACE>

  • He's up there with Neil and Dylan.

  • and cash

  • he's one of those familiar childhood sounds ... and i remember this music fondly . but knew nothing of all this religious affiliation.

  • i have sung this song on lonely country roads with miles to go late into the night , and it kept my spirits high , and my pace quick, and refreshed my soul . Thank you Cat. what an incredible gift to a poor guy like me that cant always rely on dependable transportation ,but still has to get home from work,or try to make it home after the car breaks down .Thank you for your song.thank you for sharing from yourself to us...and thank you stelingarda for passing it along.

  • my funeral song....

  • I just heard this on "The A-Team" ("Alive At Five" during Face's walking scenes)

  • What a gift this man has, and he still has it, Go ahead and call him Steven Georgiou if you like (it means you knew him as a child and young man), or perhaps you prefer Cat Stevens, then call him that, or if you want to be respectful to his wishes then refer to him as Yusuf Islam it doesn't matter...whatever you call him just make sure that you first day "musical genius {name here}"

  • @1macboo well said

  • perfectly performed by one of the best a great and powerful song.

  • Beardie234: Cat Stevens is still alive. But now he's Yusef Islam or something. Cat Stevens wasn't his real name either. I liked him best in that incarnation. It's too bad he lost his friggin' mind to radical religion.

  • @wandated He is still alive and still touring Europe as we speak. He is a peaceful man, a cause for justice and it tells you even more that the Religion he accepted is not radical, ironically it's the very oppisite; Islamic people are people of PEACE, JUSTICE, and LOVE> The reigion suits him well :) Please meet a Msulim person and make the judgements for yourself, don't let the media define things and people for you. Use your brain.

  • I AM sooooooo there~Blessing's~Peace~LOVE~light~ :)

  • could you imagine Cats Stevens, John Lennon, and Jim Croce all alive today! We would have the greatest music of all time. They were awesome and taken away too soon. What was GOD thinkin?

  • @beardie234 There's a (pretty bad) old song about Rock & Roll Heaven...perhaps god is assembling a band of her own?

  • @beardie234

Though I'll never know what God was thinking, maybe he just wanted some dinner accompaniment?

  • @beardie234

Though I'll never know what God was thinking, maybe he just wanted some dinner accompaniment?

  • He has soul power just like John Lennon. He puts his whole spirit and soul into his music. A true legend!!!!

  • loved it

  • I've been here in life have you?

  • this was played at my uncles funeral :/ :'(

    <3

  • @JLBlondies

I'm sorry to see you lost your uncle. I have lost a couple of uncles myself.

    My deepest sympathies.

What a beautiful song to play at his funeral. If he liked Cat Stevens, I'm sure he was pleased wherever in the cosmos he was.

  • @PetePuma00 (: thankyou.

  • What a profound story teller. The entire album is mystical!!!!

  • live version rock !

  • This song is my mantra as I travel the magnificent wasteland. Oh yeah!

  • It doesnt get any better than this!

    What a ledgend!

  • nice song

  • Both are good.

  • yeah but since he turned into yusuf he hasnt put out any music cept like 1 song.

  • Check out his album "Roadsinger" it's brilliant. "Another Cup" was the album before that which was okay, but that's two albums, my friend.

  • mehhhh. brilliant is a strong word. i heard some tracks off of roadsinger id say good not great especially since its cat.

  • Ha ha Yes! I'm just the same as you broughdawg! as well as leonard cohen, bob dylan and some others.

  • hi my names luke im 20 and i just have to say i love cat stevens ive grown up listening to him since i was born as well as other great artists like jim morrison an neil young and i think its a shame not many younger ppl like myself listen to it so i think im very fortunate to have had the oportunity to experience his an others music, so thanks Dad! cause if it wasnt for him id never have known

  • I think it's a shame hardly any young people listen to him either, Im lucky though. We should never forget legends like Cat, cause it's hard to get any artists that was a good enough singer and songwriter today. PEACE.

  • Sweet. You sound like my 19 yr old son, only it's his mamma that's introduced him to this great music.

  • This is almost like a sister song to ,"But I Might Die Tonight." Where has the time gone? This is going on forty years old.

  • i can respect cat stevens alot for someone who i always thought to be a pop singer he does have a shit load of originality not alot of his songs sound like other songs i usually notice some new bands ripping off his style

  • Diese musik kann man einfach nicht schlechtmachen. Hammer!

  • This is amazing!!!!

  • I have always loved this song, and the album "Tea for the Tillerman". Such great talent, and songs with meaningful lyrics!!

Thank you so much for posting!!!

  • my mates dad was the bass player for this album

  • I love Cat Stevens

  • Cat Stevens. Badass.

  • I love this song. Just recorded it and posted on YouTube. Click on my name and check it out. 5 stars for Cat

  • Beautiful......

I could say more but it would be redundant.

  • beautiful. what a genius.

  • Awesome......LEGEND! One of the best singers/songwriters of our time.

  • @PeaceTrainFan I agree. I remember having a falling out with a friend because he thought Elton John was better. I haven't seen/spoken to him in 4 years, worth it, cause I still have Cat Stevens.

  • I want this played at my funeral. Along with Sitting and Bright Eyes by Art Garfunkel.

  • Lovely lyrics and feeling.

  • classic!!!

  • When music had meaning.

  • @utubemusiccritic For a critic, that's a surprisingly naive opinion.

  • @utubemusiccritic hey don't be a dick there are still some songs that are made nowadays that have just as much meaning as in the 70's k? god.

  • wow this is the best thanks for posting

  • i'm too!!!!! :-)

  • Cat Stevens is like the best artist i know
