  • I wish the place I summered had ruins. Dang. (Great work as always.)

  • I don't know if you could call it "having ruins" - they're a 2-hour walk away ;)

    thanks! :)

  • i loved it! the music was just perfect. and there's no better way to start your day than watching a video that just shows you a lot of different things, weird and strange and awesomething things at the same time, with good music put to it.

i especially enjoyed the grasshopper. he was posing all fierce-like and then got scared. aww :(

  • thanks! I love that my musical choice seems to be enjoyable.. ;)

the grasshopper was all nervous and stuff. he didn't understand he was about to become a star on teh nets.

  • 1:52 - I wonder if they followed you there from Munich

  • Well, they looked very much at home there :)

  • I just thought a couple of hundred km would be no problem for them - assuming they are cataglyphis ;-)

  • I meant to watch this yesterday and i almost forgot again today-I've been walking around all day with "watch glyph's video" written on my arm. I really like these videos! It was almost like I've been there before since I was able to recognize stuff from the other video and from dailybooth. -Nice job with the editing and music :)

  • Thanks! It's great that so many people like being taken along to this strange place. :)

  • I love these videos so much! They're by far my favourites of the ones you do. I know they're time consuming, so thanks for the effort.

I love that rather than hang the buffalo head somewhere else, they cut holes in the walls. If they ever leave, those cutouts will be impossible to explain! How many guesses would you need before you got 'buffalo skull horn cutouts'?

  • ROFL, you noticed the cutouts? We all laughed when we saw that my uncle had made them so that he could hang the buffalo head in the staircase.

  • That is really some strange stuff you guys got over there... This doll-leg-thingy... Spooky!

  • word.

  • I know... One gets used to it :)

  • Ahhhh, the red skull again! O_O I already connect "dark side of the moon" with that weird red/green contrast. Is it the same red that's used on the wallpaper and on the fence?

Internet is annoying slow there, hm?

I love the whale! And Erika and her friend! :)

Thanks for sharing! And please don't delete my comment! :P (@replies ?)

  • Yeah, my uncle loves skulls for some reason... You get used to it ;)

I really doubt that he painted the red stripes on the wall... *g*

  • AAARGH! Youtube keeps deleting comments I react to! :-((

  • wtf? They were here with your replies a few minutes ago... oh YouTube fun :(

  • They are back!

  • oh they're back! Maybe a bug involving overwriting data in a cached version or something strange like that...

  • Back home...... mowing is an entertaining event at your place I see. I like jazz too!! I see now where the inspiration (the true beginnings) of your fascination with ants comes from!! : )

  • actually it's not home, but my grandparents summer house. but I've spent a lot of time there.

yes, mowing the whale is very important! ;) it's been there for years. originally my uncle made it to show his kids how big a blue whale really is.

  • Oh again, The "Shitting Man" statue was probably one of the strangest things that anyone ever had in their yard! It's been 20 minutes now, and I still can't process it! What does it mean? hehe! : ) -Brian.

  • this part of the garden, with all the reed, is a constructed wetland for wastewater treatment because the house is not connected to the sewer system anymore. when it was built a few years ago there was an "sewage plant party". an artist friend of the family, who makes wood sculptures with a motor saw, brought this as a present.

  • No wonder the trout was so fat and healthy, lots of nutrients in that pond! ; ) hehe!

  • Oh, I always love the music you choose for your vids! In this case it was very free-form and jazzy, and suited the strange randomness of the Video. -Another Great Video, Glyphie! -Brian.

  • Another great video! But why don't you take a girlfriend or two? Then it wouldn't seem so lonely and strange, like Alice In Wonderland! I like the cooking videos best (no meat though, please!), and the Macro-world stuff was great!

PS Did the trout recover after the Operation? What was it? Something in the stomache? hehe! ; )

  • actually I enjoy the solitude, at least for a while. this year my boyfriend also was there for a couple of days. some glimpses of him can be seen in the video.

well, the trout sadly didn't survive. it's intestines were missing for some reason. we tried to replace them with sage and butter and revive the fish in the oven. didn't work, but it tasted great ;)

  • I'm glad you did all you could to save it's life! ; ) hehe VERY FUNNY REPLY!!! thank-you, you made me laugh! -Brian.

  • Why was there a Blauwal in the grass?

  • When my cousins where little my uncle wanted to show them how big a blue whale is so he mowed a life sized one in the grass. everybody loved it so it's been there for years.

  • ach, der wird immer nachgemäht, wie cool!

  • Creepy (Kompliment)

Ist das Sonnentau bei 2:30 ?

  • thx :)

    yup, ist sonnentau (wikipedia -->Drosera_aliciae)

  • Cool, there it is again. HQ! Will it stay up? :> Fun to see the same things as in the 2008 video.

  • yup, will stay up this time. the one I uploaded first had a mistake in the captions

  • hey, that's so cool to see the things from the other video again! really feels like actually coming back :)

und yeah, tuts phone mit langsamem internet! da hast du irgendwann meine sms gekriegt! ^^

    hihihi, erschrocken beim grashüpfer!

(video didn't show up in sub box.)

  • jaja, das innornöd da ist schon ne herausforderung ;)

  • Yes! I don't think I could ever see enough of your parent's place - it's so awesome! Feels to me more like a summer cabin than a traditional family house. Is that "baby leg thingy" hooked up to some sort of belt/pulley to make it spin? Creepy!

  • actually, it's my grandparent's summer cabin :)

yes, the baby-leg thing is connected to a rope that's part of a mechanism than automatically closes the living room door with an old clock weight. in the winter the only heating comes from an oven so it's important to keep the warmth inside.

  • You have so many weird things at that place. Those Easter Island statues are called Moais btw :)

lol @ the strolling vegetables :D

  • I know, it gets weired every year. The Stag and the Buffalo were new and a little too much for me, but I got used to them ;)

    ah yes, Moais. thanks!
