It's funny because everyone's raving on about how this music is so much better than today's, yet you all seem to have no idea that this music was created with even less care and effort than pop music of today. This is a standard doowop chord progression, I VI IV V, or G, Em, C, D. All of the music made in the time of the 50's was just churned out with formula's. Rock and Roll? 12 bar blues, I for 4 bars, IV for 2, I for 2, V for 1, IV for 1, I for 1 and V for the last one. Damn character limit.

@highestsettings There is no originality in today's music. All it is is three or four words, and then all there is is a couple chords if that. Then with rap, all it is is "I wanna fuck that bitch". The fifties music is actually heart-felt, the lyrics mean something, and there is actually a melody.

Also, the fifties were plenty diverse. There was doo-wop, the beginning of rock and roll, crooners, jazz, blues and country. Today there's pop, country, rap and metal. Fifties are much better.

Now, you say 50's lyrics were heartfelt but all it was, was 'I love you', they were all saying the same thing, with different words.

Pop, Rock, House, Dubstep, Techno, Heavy metal, Hip Hope, Indie Rock, Punk, Hardcore, Grunge and Hip Hop, to name just a few. Then there's also all the genres that existed in the past, they still exist, I saw a band playing rockabilly music in a pub, it was awesome. There's still scenes and niche's for this sort of music to exist and all the others that have existed.
