ad-hoc network is still wifi, if WiFi doesn't work on your iPhone this won't work.

@johanndalusong Download the OpenSSH toggle and make sure SSH is enabled (You can also use the SBSettings toggle)

You need to have an active wifi connection and you must have open ssh installed. Everyone's password by default is alpine

All you gotta do is type in the commands I typed in on the terminal app. You can do this on the mac's terminal app or the MobileTerminal app that you can download from Cydia. That's it

If I understand your question correctly, what I showed you how to do in the video is basically SSHing, except that you can't see all your files like in WinSCP or Cyberduck. You do not need to SSH into Cyberduck or WinSCP, if that's what you're asking. Hopefully this helps and I didn't confuse you!
