Hi check out ELEKTROSKATE BOARDS they have the most powerfull and lightest boards on the market with high torque digital brushless motors and WIRELESS 2.4 ghz remote controls. Full 1 years warranty designed in the USA. they also offer a discount for non Euro customers. I have tried them all ES are the best by miles
I'm worried about the cable getting tangled up and yanking on connection between the cable and board. Is it a plug in cable, or is the cable fixed? Was also wondering if the cable breaks away if you do get tangled up in it.
That's a cool thing about the cable, it has a quick release dead-man's brake. If you bale, just hold onto the hand unit and it unplugs, which applies the brakes and the board stops on it's own.
Once when a buddy rode the board, he kept yanking up and unplugging the unit, and then he wouldn't jump off and would ride the board out without power - and with the cable dangling and him riding it without power, the cable did wrap around the tire, but no harm. Everything he could have done wrong, he did.
Don't yank on the controller, and if it unplugs, jump off and let the board stop - no need to wear out the braking because you can't ride. Before I bought the board I worried about the cable, but they seemed to have worked out all of the problems.
What convinced me to go cable was the other companies. When I confronted them about the signal failing on the remote units, they couldn't deny that it happens. A friend owns a remote controlled longboard and he admitted that the signal fails. These things are powerful and freaky enough as it is - without having the signal fail and sending you flying at a bad time.
Oh... another question.... have you ever got the control cable tangled up in the wheels or trucks? How do you prevent that... especially when grabbing the board?
No problems there - and no problems with the signal cutting out and sending you flying off your board - like can happen with the remote controlled hand units.
I weigh about 200 lbs - and I always have camera gear+
I don't get the range they say - but - I figure if I were to keep my weight light and didn't screw around, kept on a straight line on level ground, I could probably get pretty close to the 12 miles claimed.
The main thing to remember is - these things are a fucking gas.
Power boards don't replace longboards, I've got a few and I love riding them - but - it is totally cool cruising along shore lines and carving turns - uphill.
Quick trips to the store, or commutes to appointments are transformed into groovy cruises.
"Oh, damn, I forgot to get butter!" "I better power back to the grocery store!"
I'm excited about getting one. Carving uphill sounds crazy. I've seen 10" replacement wheels offered by Kenda and Goodyear. How long have you had your Dewey A/T? Do the pneumatic tires last wear longer compared to the poly-wheels? What about the drive tire, does it get eaten up faster than the other tires? Sweet board... is there a skid plate under the battery compartment cover?
Unless I was riding on dirt, always, I wouldn't bother with a knobby tire. I think the pneumatic tires do wear longer, and ride sweet. I've only had mine a couple months, but the wear seems pretty even all around, but, I'll probably rotate them ever once in a while anyway.
I guess the battery cover acts like a skid plate.

Can you tell us how fast it goes.
Then can you compare that to the speed of a bike??

Ah, I see. The hand unit releases from the cable, and the cable stays attached to the board. Cool. Thanks.

Nice. I'm thinking about getting the A/T Dewey Weber. How's the turning radius on the AT?
roncruiser 2 years ago
The Dewey Weber A/T can turn around in a regular side street - and if you can slide it takes less room.
(get the street slicks)
