  • A friend of mine fell for this trick on facebook, he told me that he recieved a message from a friend and he actually filled in his real address and cell phone. He also told me that the thing asked him to select sponsers for registration, he stopped there and believes that he didn't complete registration, I'm not sure how to help him but is he safe if he didn't complete the registration?

  • @WickedKnight07 I need an imidiate answer because I think he's freaking out.

  • Duh......... ANYTHING that someone tells you is free is a SCAM... only an idiot would believe it.

  • @tonopahbubba i believed it cause it was a post from a good friend on my facebook with a message frim him himself only to find out later it wasnt him ..so how is this legal?

  • I want a iPad so badd!

  • We need to start bombarding those bastards back. Haven't we learned anything from world war 2? We need to fight back. Alright, what to these bastards fear the most? having no one sign up at their website. To do this we are going to need to spread the message, How to get an Ipad for free Is a Scam Period. Let's start pasting this on every video that has a spammer on, and just thumbs up that comment. Unless anyone else got an idea?

  • lol i feel bad for the people saying they signed thnx eTC.... *sigh* thnks sophos

  • These survey gateway pages are called Content Lockers and are a way for webmasters to cream more cash from their website or blog visitors before sending them to the offer page their visitors were originally interested in and also receive a commission through CPA (cost per application) when a visitor sign ups to the deal.

  • a free ipad. ha what a joke. nothing is free in this world. even to die it cost money.

  • Well even youtuber user spam comment about free ipad and lot of thumbs up which is BY SPAMMER also.

    free ipad are FAKE

  • This works pit you number in I got a free iPad and and a Mac book air

  • 1 dislike?? why, sophos epic!

  • fine record! Take a look at my profile if you want to win a free iPad though!!

  • I don't get why giving your phone number would automatically sign you up for the scam. If this were true, wouldn't it be easier for them to simply troll through the phone book looking for numbers and names?

  • @abdulmuhib there is a legal reason for them to con your number out of you... in the USA if you listed your number on the National Do-not-call list they cannot just look you up in the phone book and solicit you... but if your desire for an iPad is so great that you voluntarily GIVE them your number - without disclosure of the conditions of contract you are agreeing to they use your information anyway they like and they can sell you $10/week "premium rate" deals!

  • @giramger Okay- that makes sense that you wouldn't be able to hide your number any longer, and you open yourself up to solicitors. But I don't get where American law would allow them to automatically charge you when you haven't agreed to that, just by giving them your phone number.

  • hahah CAN YOU JUST USE A PREPAID PHONE FROM WALL-MART OR SOMETHING ???

  • i dont really want an ipad. i dont really see the point....

  • 3,523 fans? *face palm*

  • great now we know about it, how the hell do you get rid of it?

  • I used facebook to get a free ipad, no beta testing required. Was easy. Watch my vid.

Most people wont believe it but those who try it rave about it. It can take a couple of weeks but you dont have to pay a penny.

  • THANKS A LOT im going to repost this shit to my facebook friends

  • This is coming around again so you should be aware of it. It's really a scam

  • i was there!!!! i didn't take the quiz cause i knew it was spam

  • @animeangelgirl100 same. i never fall for this stuff.

  • @Lollyholly99 who does? i mean, come on! its so obvious

  • Hey tip install firebug on mozilla addons and remove some codes and then you dont need to take the survey=)

  • thanks for protecting us from the facebook scams, but this really doesn't help the owners of real freebie sites such as myself, that really work.

ones you have to work for though, not just enter a phone number.

  • I KNEW IT! SCAM!

  • Hey wait... I just relized I never got the damn ipad anyways

  • Great now I see the damn video....

  • You don't our in your cell phone... It's an

Ad for quizjungle which is the quiz you're

Taking. You click pass and continue to the results. It's probably a scam though

  • If you turn java-script off it will skip the "are you human" test :P for firefox go to tools, content, Un tick "enable java" then reload the page, OMG MAGIC U CAN GET UR IPAD!!!! *rolls eyes*

  • all you have to do to get past the Premium Page thing is turn off JavaScript before you visit the page.

  • At least there are some companies that are offering the iPad for free and I can assure you it's not a scam. I have taken part to their previous promotion 'Write 5 review for £5' and I was paied! The iPad it's just one click away: you have to LIKE Shopping.com on Facebook for your chance to win. Easy!

  • at 2:40 that's why you click "Pass"!

  • well if your gonna smash your phone then you can give the number away!

  • Funny thing is, you didn't wait for the thing to unlock. It takes one more minute to unlock, I know...I got my iPad from completing the offers. Took me 4 weeks to get it.

  • Lol fat noob at end

  • CPAleague

FUCK THEM I HOPE THEY ALL BURN IN HELL

  • 1 take a dep breath

2 think of somebody you like

    3 press f10 five times

4 send this to 5 youtube videos

5 look at your background 1

  • @plainbskater you fail

  • @plainbskater dosnt work

  • wow you upload it today and u got 13,643 views

  • I think there is another Facebook scam you guys need to cover:

Basically they have these groups that say stuff like: OMG! i laughed so hard at this picture of cheryl cole and john terry, This is why people say FML, OMG! I laughed so hard at this picture of this girl who accidentily texted her dad instead of her Bf and such. They make you invite all of your friends, then redirect you to this spyware website... check it out!

  • Hmm... The IPAD. No FLASH, No JAVASCRIPT, you have to pay extra for wordprocessing software to open a WORD email, batteries that cannot be replaced. Suddenly the Facebook scammers aren't looking so bad. At least all they want is your phone number, not $500.

  • wooooooops to late! i gave everything out and never got anything but a virus and a bunch of texts every five minutes

  • This is where the dumbness of the hackers comes into play. The only way to tell if people are really people and not bots is to use a captcha. These things are usually found on the bottom of sign up forms. Youtube's ones are quite diffiult by the way.

  • Captcha isn't always effective, and many site designers don't like them because people find them hard to complete, especially the not so tech-savvy users. Many sites prefer to ask a single question that has an "obvious to a human" answer (example "What colour is a banana?")

  • Ahh... All the idiots saying "My BF is gonna love it! Thanks!"

They just threw their life away...

  • Spread the word !

  • I use Los Angeles and 90210 zip code when signing up for stuff too! and thanks for this info.

  • British people ROCK! Thanks for telling, I was a victim of it, but I was able to un subscribe, so thanks for the video to warn others. I subscribed.

  • @jamador95 Did they actually send you an iPad? If you did I know how to get past the premium page.

  • @A135S4656 same here- stop the page from loading before the survey thingy comes up. I took it and then it sent me a text, and afterwards, it sent me pointless news (literaly pointless) through texts for $10 per text. Text "STOP" to them for them to unsubscribe you. so how do you get past the premium page?

  • @jamador95 In Firefox... you have to do it in Firefox, I don't know about Chrome Safari or IE... you go to Tools Options (Firefox, Preferences on mac) Content tab, and uncheck Enable JavaScript.

  • @jamador95 are australian people awesome too???

  • iPad is oversized Iphone.

  • The Premium Text message service is a real easy scam for many to fall for. You can call your cell phone provider and disable Premium Text Services to help prevent this. Great Video...now go work on being more hip.

  • I hate these type's of groups, it is obvious that they are scams, but people still join them. My friend's list is just full of idiot's!

  • Not in England it's not. :)

  • @SophosLabs Well you said it better than I do. I sort of pronounce it "Betta". Which may be up to ridicule, but if you're a stupid american who has no understanding of the fact that there are other countries in the world, I wouldn't bother with smart arsed comments. :P Get my point?
