Can you use any wax or are you using a special type?

What stage do you need to put on the wax an sponge away the clay? Leather hard or bone dry?

Apply the wax to a fine grained leather hard clay, wrap it gently (I usually let it sit wrapped up over night), and then sponge the leather hard clay gently the next day. By letting it sit covered over night, the wax bonds more with the clay. thanks for your interest! John

Could you explain the purpose of rubbing the wax with your sponge at the end? Perhaps that has something to do with the "erosion?"
