  • I dig this song so much...my 2nd fav neo soulists from jill scott

  • Michael Jackson wasn't all that. Floetry sucks and Bieber is better than all of them combined !!! :) - so is that girl who sand a song about Friday.

wait for it. Incoming aggressive comments...

  • omg i love this song. They song so great to. Marsha lost alot of pds. She looked lovly than and still look lovely now.

  • yes!

  • My favorite version they kill this song live!

  • wow I love her voice but i still like MJ's better

  • "butterflies vs, Ladybugs"...

  • MJ sings this song way better than Floetry...

  • she may have wrote it but Michael sings it better

  • I'm in love with this song...

  • Let it be known to the naysayers! Floetry and Michael Jackson sang this song beautifully. But the fact remains, when you say Marsha and Natalie messed the song up.....um it is Marsha's song! She can sing it however her spirit leads her to sing it because they are her words! People stop with this dumb bickering over something so beautiful no matter what form it is in!

  • DOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!

  • Amazing as always. Again too much of the world failed to see one of the best of its musical kind. I mean how often do you WRITE, a song for MICHEAL JACKSON?

  • It deeply disappointed & saddened me to learn of the break-up of "Floetry"......one of the most truly talented female groups (or duos) in the history of R&B/POP. The song "Butterflies" is the absolute BOMB! "Floetry" indeed wrote the song for Michael......and when Michael recorded it for his "Invincible" album (with the women of "Floetry" providing background support), they proceeded to create "Musical Bliss".

  • This iz my cut

  • marsha wrote the song but dre n vidal did the music and allowed marsha to sing the song to micheal over the phone thats how he got it....

  • sample is the jacksons "let me show the way to go" 197...i don't remember friends :)

  • @pharrell38 1977 going places philadelphia international records. :)

  • Bigs ups to the soul sista's from London. People don't realize there is talent in London we not all royal...lolol

  • @lionees09 well i know ya;ll just dont come over here and when you do you kinda dont last long. floetry said they came to the states first b/c they felt like people in england didnt understand their music that was in 99 though

  • @mjjcng8958 I see you point...

  • @lionees09 i would love to see more black brits come to america and make music. i love england too

  • @lionees09 Marsha's a scouser though lol.

  • @PD1968 oh that means she from Liverpool. Even better just goes to show overall England has talent. Thanks for teaching me what Scouser meant.. Shame I didn't even know..Bless

  • Bigs ups to the soul sista's from London. People don't realize there is talent in London we no all Royal...lolol

  • marsha wrote this song wen she was in the 9th grade and she put it on the album but it didnt do all that good but she played it for michael and he fell in luv with it so thats how he got it

  • marsha sing on michael jackson version she do background

  • where is Floetry? I miss them!

  • @efranklin559 They broke up yo.Sorry to bear bad news.

  • Marsha Ambrosius of Floetry wrote the song Butterflies. Michael Jackson ended up covering it and did a great job. However I like this live version too. People leaving their negative comments will never write for a legend like Michael...She sang the damn song like she felt it...

  • 1 thing none of us can deny, Michael Jackson (R.I.P.) AND Floetry (Marsha and Natalie) all have an abundance of talent. OUTstanding job ladies on penning this mellow song. MJ even hit that crrrrazzzzy riff that Marsha hit!!! Love both versions because the song it SICK!

  • i lyk mj's n floetry's dey have such beautiful voices <3

  • Floetry is real tight, however it went down with Michael Jackson is of no matter, I personally like both their version, and Micheal's version. They have beautiful voices, I would like to see Floetry in person anytime, they have real talent. I think it was great that Michael was involved they must have been real surprised... :)

  • i LOVE michael jackson. but floetry did it big with this joint right here.

  • the true story of this song is that mj heard this version and he liked it. so he recorded it with her. i like both

  • love

  • I thought I was the only one addicted to this jam! If you love this song, thumb up!

  • @duhgr8ate1 lol hook to this jam here...

  • I appreciate that Floetry wrote this, but in my opinion MJ's version was better, better production value.

  • @myklstarr You gotta hear the version with just MJ. The Floacist messed it up on the chorus. She shoulda just threw in a lil rap after the second verse, and did the bridge.

  • since you wanna be specific . its not true the MADE the song for MICHEAL JACKSON . it was said that Marsha was recording music and she didnt have the time too record all of her music soo she sold it and Micheal Jackson asked if he could hear it . they recorded the demo and sent it to Micheal and he loved it . thats why he remade the song.

  • love it R.I.P. MJ

  • Im felling that feeling again and its been so long .... i want more

    !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • please floetry get back together do it for the fans

  • i like thier demo but i LOVE mj's version his voice is otherworldly

  • Floetry didn't write this song for Michael, they had it on their demo tape and Michael heard it and loved it. He asked if he could record it and they were part of his production of the song. Both version are beautiful!

  • That's true. And i agree.

  • @jhsting32 ~ So what's your point jhsting? No one ever said that this song was written for MJ...but either way, it's a beautiful, fantastic song..one of the best songs EVER written!!!

  • @SeanaluvsBurleigh actually they did, the previous top comment alluded to it. I corrected them and you probably don't know about that since I corrected them a year ago. That being said I love this song, both versions as I said before.

  • beautiful song

  • i love both versions, floetry are unknown in the UK, but the girls are both British

  • im british and i know them..... and they were nomintated for the mercury music awards, they are know, just not popular, your just ignorant

  • yeoman2k1 i'm not ignorant , no need to be rude!!

  • @euphena really? wow

  • OMG MJJJJJJ I love this SONG! And I luv Floetry!

  • Come to my chanell and see my butterflies cover wish you like it!

  • @ vaughnno04

If you listen to MJ's version of the song, you will notice that they are actually backing him...

  • Top tune!!! Love the vocal and poetic flow goin on! Beautiful!!!

  • really nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I like this live rendition of this song.

  • I love Floetry. Their music is smooth.

  • me hubiera encantado escuchar una version en vivo cantada por MJ, pero ahora es totalmente imposible

  • so basically this is one of the sickest songs ever written. Floetry is very talented in both singing and writing. Now Michael's version I think is equally sick with the way he presented it. you can't recognized one without thinking about the other. this song is tight!!!!

  • Wow, I see alot of people have gotten into an uproar at marsh's song, but I'd just like to put out there that it would be a really cool mix if they merged mj's version with floetry's. I love both and I abosolutely love Floetry.

  • All I know is, These GIRLS are the BEEEZE KNEEEZE!! MJ covered THEIR song and made a cool version of it.......but THEIR version makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up!! You Go Flo........xxxxx

  • cant we all just get along?

  • sorry, i mean floetry not floety :)

  • and i think you fuckin hater even didn't listen Demo version of MJ's butterflies which is song by Floety. Demo version and MJ's version aren't different. those are all same.

  • Get the fuck away you mutherfuckin haters. MJ didn't stole this song. MJ bought this song. okay? what kind of fan like you fuckin mj haters :-(

  • i'm feeling butterflies =)

  • But I liked Micheal jackson's version is just as goood.

  • love the hair style girllll!!at :43.

  • These are my girls.. Just wished they would try to keep their English accents. I know the American language is infectious but they sound so much better when they are completely themselves. Absolutely love them all the same Americanised or EnglisA

  • Im feeling this song everytime i listen to it, i get lost! truely love it!

  • Check MJ's Invincible label and you'll see that Natalie gets credit for this song. MJ blessed them by recording it and they did the background vocals. It was a top seller for the Invincible album and they got paid; it's a win-win situation.

  • I like floetry's version better than michael's. I guess cuz they wrote it.

  • i agree with my kid, beatit2006!

  • goose bumps is right.....these ladys are amazing!

  • Goose bumps.......

  • wow these women were made to sing :)

  • What are you talking about? Marsha of Floetry actually wrote Butterflies for Michael Jackson, so I would say she is the originator! Floetry are (were) a very talented girl duo from Croydon, South London...my home town.

  • im not saying they wernt its just that i prefer michael jacksons better its just my opinion

  • i completely, completely disagree!

I think michael jacksons, in comparison to floetrys lacks.. emotion? i'm not sure what word im looking for but its something akin to that. and as much as a legend as he is, and as great as his music is, i realised when i listened to his version that i dont actually like the tone of his voice all that much.

  • @jckasule I'm a hugh MJ fan and I think floetry's version is better too. MJ was a great all round performer but as a teen, preteen and in his early 20s during the Off the Wall, Destiny and Triumph era he was really great and his singing had alot more "emotion" than the Bad, Dangerous, History, Blood on the Dancefloor or Invincible eras.

  • @SenegalSunflower thats where I`m from born and bred.for the record they wrote it sung it Michael heard it luved and recorded on his album.

  • @SenegalSunflower Marsha's from Liverpool!

  • THEY WROTE IT!

  • omg calm down im NOT saying they didnt like i said before its my opinion that i prefer michael jacksons so people please stop givin me thumbs down because its just my opinion and i didnt say anything bad anout this group

  • Michael's isn't the original. Michael said in steve harvey morning show that they mainly did it. They wrote it and everything. Michael stole from them.

  • woah really?

    im shockedd

    =S

  • don't lie. MJ stole nothing it was given to him.

  • I don't mean literally "stole" you know...or they would have took him to court. I mean "stole" like they made the song and he sung it.

  • you need to be cleasr bout that then cause now you got people tinking he stole it

  • Please. YOu're making it bigger than what it is. People know he didn't steal that song. What would he need to steal a song for. Nobody thought that but you.

  • he didn't steal it...he fixed it hehe ;)

  • Um....Michael Jackson's version of this song sucks......and yeah, we know that the song was written by someone else.....FLOETRY.....and she sounds 10x BETTER THAN MICHAEL JACKSON.

  • I agree with you on this comment, because Marsha's did write this song in the studio and Michael Jackson claimed it for himself, of course. The songwriter should have been props on this nothing personally against Mike.

  • In interviews Michael has always acknowledged the original songwriters to this song.

  • If you would do your research BEFORE commenting, you would know that FLOETRY wrote the song FOR MICHAEL JACKSON. So they sang the song, and knew exactly how it went, BEFORE they gave it to Michael Jackson.....so his recording isn't original.....dumbass.

  • @XanderKnight26 They didn't write it for Michael, Michael heard their demo. Marsha has an interview on youtube explaining that.

  • @XanderKnight26 EXACTLY!!!

  • @XanderKnight26 Don't care whose is original I love both version

  • @XanderKnight26 LMBO!!!! You called them a dumbass! Understand that this is a generation where everything is downloaded and viewed or listened to. No1 takes the time to read writing credits or to know that some of these artists used to sing back-up for some of the veteran singers.

Crazy how the music industry has almost turned younger people into slaves to machinery (i.e. drum machines and that God awful auto tune) Live music, REAL vocals WITHOUT enhancing, real SONGwriters-I MISS IT

  • @XanderKnight26 lol had no clue...but thanx....for th info....

  • @XanderKnight26 not to bust your bubble but Marsha didnt write it for Michael in particular..the wrote it as she does many songs but had other songs she wanted to record ..the floetry version was off of their demo..aka unofficial... Marsha sold it to Michael

  • @XanderKnight26 Exactly.. Ambrosia is actually singing with Michael on his .. he asked her to come in for direction

  • I LOVE FLOETRY!!!!!

  • Natalie is the first girl that I openly admitted to having a crush on! And I still do! NATALIE - I LOVE YOU AND WANT YOU!!! ;-)

  • i like them both..very good lyrics..

  • In the Name Of Allah (God)

Floetry Yes! Leaves you breathless.. Finding and discovery something new each day.My friend shares with me.

Music is a Divine Mystery and there is a message for you in a song. Up lifting for true...

  • big fan on floetry

  • You can purchase this live CD with video from the House of Blues concert. I purchased it from a music kiosk in an airport years ago.

  • this is song is sexy damn

  • i like this version and michael jackson's version they are both great!

  • My God this sounds so much better than the Michael Jackson version!!!

  • They put way more authentic soul in this performance than Michael's flat nasal rendition. I don't care what none of y'all say they perform this MUCH better than Michael.

  • Stop being an asshole and be respectful.

Both artists have excellent yet different versions. Don't diss the King in an effort to make your point. He ALWAYS gave well-deserved credit to Floetry.

  • No matter how many times I hear this song I never get tired of listening to it. Micheal couldn't ask for a better group to cover it they are for real, for real!

  • im sure she wrote this and michael jackson used it on his album

  • no they gave it to him

  • yeah floetry wrote it n let michael use it for his cd

  • man the rhodes is so clutch on this track!

  • a wonderful song to relax too or make slow love too!

  • they are so great live unlike so many other "so-called artists"

  • Such a bewitching siren of a song it sends chills through my body when I listen to it.

Especially when Michael Jackson does the vocals!

  • Thankyou for getting the information right for a change. When michael did his version he didn't even change a thing not even the vocal arrangements. He must have liked it so much so he kept it exactly the same but with his vocals as addition. I love both versions of this the melody it so haunting. LURRRRVE ITT!!!

  • @METROPOLITAN606 Is this true, that Michael "didn't even change a thing, not even the vocal arrangements. He must have liked it so much so, he kept it exactly the same, but with his vocals as addition," as you say? Does what you found out apply to the whole, entire, complete song--even the really high parts coming towards the end of it? The vocals on those parts are just....amazing!!! I love this song, too.

  • L.O.V.E. this song, it gives me butterflies!

  • OK, to clarify this, marsha ambrosius and natalie stewart (then a member of floetry) wrote the song for michael's invincible album...invincible was originally slated to be released in 1999, but kept getting pushed back, so floetry recorded it themselves and put it on floetic in 2002...by the time michaels album released both versions ended up coming out around the same time

  • thanx for clearing that up...i knew i wasnt crazy...lololol....

  • sing it like i feel it, ma...sing it like i*m feelin it!!

  • love this

  • DAMN! AWESOME!

  • The way this girl sing bring tears to my eyes and goose bumps on my skin and im a grown ass man. lol dont tell the fellas

  • i WILL NEVER get tired of this beautiful song...it's amazing!!

  • beautiful feeling.........butterflies :-)

  • they wrote this song for micheal jackson. u can look it up.these girls were lovers.

  • Correction, Marsha Ambrosius and Andre Harris wrote it.

  • Well if Neyo wrote this, his name would be all over the credits. I have both Invisible and Floetic and the credits go to Ambrosius and Harris on both. Neyo isn't capable of writing a song of this complexity. Oh but he said it on 106 and Park? NVM 106 and Park is pretty credible for information concerning songwriting credits and what not....

  • lol

  • Lol when did you get your info from?? they was never lovers, i went school with them and live two doors from one of there moms,,,, dont alwys believe what you read on the internet

  • Someone named kevin gives me butterflies just thought I'd share that with the youtube world thank you AMEN!!!

  • nice to hear, just keep them for the next 50 years of your life and treat eachother right, don't fight and cherish what you have. NEVER take each other for granted, and keep the flame hot. :)

  • I feel them...

  • yea.

    im speechless.

    i love theri touch

    on this song.

    its just so...

    so...

    i cant explain it

but i play this song over.

    cuz i lOVE IT!

  • ..That's exactly how this song makes me feel every time!

  • love this song... a diamond

  • So, is this M.J.'s song or Floetry's? I like M.J.'s version better!

  • this is floetry's song they wrote it and MJ recorded if you listen to his version closely you can hear the girl singing in the background

  • Oh, okay! Thanks!

  • its mj song!

  • this is song for all the lovers out there its the bomb

  • I think they both have thier own individual flava, and are equally good.

  • floetry wrote a beautiful song and sung it nice too but Michael Jackson straight up made it his song when he sung it and hit them high notes so tight, this is my ALL TIME FAVORITE MJ SONG and love song!!

  • floetry is awesome.

  • i love this song!!!

  • I like the way they did it but M.J did it better

  • @lightskintreat Same here, I agree with you, on this. What a beautiful song it is--BOTH versions of it.

  • No saben como quiero a la niña que me enseño esta cancion...

    :(

  • Nice song nice

  • i love this song!!!!!!
