every time that i go at Potsdamer Platz i think about this show, but when i cross "the wall" i think about how was diffcult, to make these..now i go to take the Sbahn, and i have to cross the line!! This show is amazing....i had the great opportunit to see this here in Berlin..was so important and unforgetable..and for sure..the most expect moment is when they make the wall fall...
There is no better album than the wall, and i saw him preform in in 2010 in philly, and i already got my tickets to see him in philly again outdoors in 2012. This album will live forever! Thank you so much roger for all you have done, and are still doing.
@hunkydorey2 I didn't know they were back together. I know that Dave did one song at the O2 with Roger during the wall, but I wouldn't call that getting back together. Once Dave, Roger, and Nick, reunite as Pink Floyd, then I'll say that Dave and Roger are back together
I've heard so many diffeent answers. I've heard your guys' I've heard "run home" and "fol-low" (brokn of the word 'follow' refering to follow the worms) I really don't know though
Holy shit. I just watched the whole concert. It's the most impressive concert I've ever seen. It's just HUGE. The crowd is huge, the stage is huge, everything about it is huge. Not to mention that The Wall is my favourite album of all time. I was born in the wrong decade :(
This is pink facistic persona born out of his pent up rage. Anger comes from unrecognised emotional pain but rage or hate comes from a vicious circle of festering unreconcilable emotional suffering and resultant dark thoughts. Yet we are taught to hate the haters which would be cruel in this context. Its better to heal the pain, but better still to not create the environment that produces such pain.
I was there and still wish I could go back and see it one more time - the new series of concerts is NOTHING compared to this (so much smaller in scale, much less impressive)
@sjambor yep, agreed, it had a lot more meaning behind it, due to the era and of course the location, a lot more razzle dazzle and oomph, some people are too busy judging the singers, but truth be told it was all for an amazing cause, and too many people forget that
This is amazing. I got to see Roger Waters perform The Wall this past Wednesday (10/13) and it was so fucking amazing. I wish I could see it again, but the ticket prices are so high. :(
But I loved that performance, and this is as well. Also, I am so jealous of the people playing in the pit orchestra. I WANT TO BE THERE.
@t69gto After Roger Waters started taking over the band, yes. I love the fact that people think I can´t be a Pink Floyd fan becouse I don´t always think about every aspect of their show. For me it´s the music that is important, not the show (Just saying). But then again, this ain´t Pink Floyd is it? It´s Roger Waters performing Pink Floyd (Yes I know it is he that has written the music) and I actually didn´t know that he owned the rights to the pig. But now I do.
@wart24 Pink Floyd is commonly known for the "pigs" "flying pigs" and such...it's "their thing" so to speak....their trademark xD ....anyone mentions Floyd i'll always think of pigs & marching hammers....two things they're easily well known for
@wart24 the pig's sort of a recurring theme with Floyd, it started with the Animals tour (the same tour that gave birth to the Wall concept), since Pigs is a song on Animals. It's about the authorities and Pink Floyd's used it a lot since then
@hunkydorey2 you got one out of three things right. rojer did write the entire album, albeit with the help of a few producers and david gilmore. but rojer most certainly did not use his own money for this concert. the whole thing was for charity and involved the careful planning of another guy, who also funded it. profits of the concert went to charity and it made a lot of money. (soon after writing this comment i read an interview with rojer that answered my question)
when i was 5 years old, i was going through some vhs tapes and found this concert on one of those tapes. I didn't know what pink floyd was, didn't know roger waters, didnt really know rock music yet. I watche this tape for the first time....holy shit.....it was the foundation of my life to come.....i'm 21 now and this concert shall always remain the coolest shit i have ever seen.
That huge pighead at 2:30 was horrific in live motion. It had the same height as the wall itself (more than 80 feet high which made the whole thing making 160 feet tall) and People around me -and myself ! - were like "Oh my God, It's gonna destroy the wall ! ", and then those bricks came down with an added crash sound. Awsome ! What a spectacle it was that day !
@Juanmoretimeagain I'm a pink Floyd FANATIC! I absolutely LOVE THEM! And I hope to see waters this November!!!! I never been to a Floyd or waters concert, so I can't wait!!!!!!!! Fuck for all we know this could be his last!
I was there 20 years old and no told enough to appreciate what I was witnessing. Stationed in Berlin,Germany for 3 years actually seen the Wall coming down and the week before people were still getting shottrying to get over!!!
I absolutely LOVE pink floyd, I went to Waters' Dark Side of the Moon - Live and I thought it was great but I have to say that, even when this concert was so great, I think the fact that there are so many visual (or non-musical) factors makes the music itself kind of lose its original power. Still, I wish I had gone to this concert... I will go to Waters' new tour THE WALL LIVE
na, this isn't nothing! The new tour is WAY WAY WAY better then the Berlin show

You should listen to "Pigs on the wing" and "Pigs". They're on "Animals" album, which preceeded The Wall. Not really a Pink Floyd fan, are you?
Yes, those who rule the world. Big men, Pig men... how sure-on you are.
