I would die lauging if a production of this musical became so Chessy and cheap that this scene was the auctual audition for that production. LOL!

why is noone dancing?

@cutenofy It was originally set as a concert performance, with the only choreographed number being "One". Very early in rehearsals, we found out that we as a company could handle choreography, and we added in some extra stuff. But for this show, we were really focused on presenting the story, music, and characters of A Chorus Line, less than the dancing. So the opening number is short for that reason.
