Heya, depends on what type of work you'll be doing with the t2i. If you're shooting a lot of portrait photography I'd at least get something like a 50mm prime (1.8 or 1.4 if you have the money). If you're shooting wildlife or sports from far away get a zoom lens that goes up to 200mm or something close. Personally, I like to have 3 lenses available whenever I'm shooting action scenes. A 50mm prime, a zoom with 18-55mm, and a wide lens in the area of 10-20mm. Hope that helps!
@hybridmovement Its a brilliant video my friend. I have 2 questions. 1. Did you shoot the entire film with just one Cannon T2i? 2. How much does it cost?
Heya! We used two cameras, the t2i and the casio ex-f1 for some of the high speed shots in the intro. t2i is pretty cheap nowadays. I saw it w/ the stock 18-55 lens at the store for around 599.99. when i bought it in 2010 it was 999.99 :P
WOW what great action! I bet this was inspired by a bunch of the great Jackie Chan and Jet Li movies… I love those! I just saw “Films of Fury” a little while ago and was so excited when it came out on demand because it has some really cool action scenes and clips from some of the best martial arts movies! bitly .com/uBGPir
Excellent video!!! What fps did you shoot this in? You got some really smooth slow mos in there..also, what program did you use to create the animation in the beginning?
Damn man.. I just bought a t2i.. but right now, I couldn't care less.. doesn't matter what you filmed that on it's brilliant!! What martial arts(sssss) do you guys study?
@hydbridmovement LOVE THE CHOREOGRAPHY/MARTIAL ARTS IN THE VIDEO!!! I'm an independent filmmaker. I'm currently in development/pre-production for a short film I'm producing. It includes fight scenes (styles: Drunken Kung Fu, Jeet Kune Do, Vale Tudo, and sensationalized Pro Wrestling). Do YOU or anyone you know (actors/martial arts trainers) have any interest in being a part of the next great film? We can talk in more detail pending your response. SERIOUSLY THNX.
2. how do you focus the canon 550d/t2i? manually? or automatically?
3.Wher do you get the sound effects from for the punches and kicks and stuff?
great vid by the way. You guys are awesome. You'll be happy to know I liked, favourited and shared with my friends. Please reply soon. Keep up the good work!!!
A few questions about the filming. On some of the shots, there's a fisheye kind of look, like at 0:36 - did you do that in post or was it a natural result of the angle you filmed at and lens used (do you remember which lens you used for those shots?)
Second, for the slow motion shots, was the 60fps footage just slowed normally or did you use something like twixtor to blend frames?
I just watched this. I had to subscribe. This is one of the best videos i have seen...period. Everything was great. The fighting, stunts, editing, music selection, and message. This is Epic. Please keep up the good work.
@thisweekinlinux They probably recorded the sound with an external device. Which I would recommend, because the audio compression on the mic-in from the T2i is really, really, really, really noisy and BAD. And I do mean it. You can always buy a Zoom H1 for 100€ if you're serious about recording sound :)
@joaocorreiamedia that's an excellent point. of course I've seen quite a few videos done with the magic lantern firmware and this cam, and you can get some very decent results. it allows you to disable the automatic gain control built into the T2i. Not sure about the audio compression though.
actually, we used the internal mic for this shoot. Although I do agree with you regarding getting an external mic. Just didn't have the money for it when we shot this :P
@hybridmovement Awesome! Thanks for the response. I actually ended up buying a T2i myself, and using an external mic (Rode videomic) and Magic Lantern, the audio is very, very nice. :)

nice stuff. some nice shots and colour too. I just used this camera for my latest short action film called 'Conscience' which is now on my channel. Take a look if you like.

And I must confess that I was welling up to the point of a sudden shiver then water cascading down my face. May all your efforts be Blessed and all your Joys be Multiplied.
wow, that's awesome! I mean, are you really human? XD Though, I also would like to see the false takes where one of those kicks actually hit someone's face, I can't believe you did this without accidents, it's humanly impossible HAHAHA Nice work!
Ahhhh Ouch... THis guys red t-shirt color is killing me... Haven't you noticed, that this color is bumping up so brightly that it looks terribly artificially? Aahhhh This saturation Is killing mee... (death sound)
