Oh god I loved this. Is it just me or do the new maps not seem "scary" enough. They're cool and all, but I think they focused on adding new stuff too much. when I first played this, I got so scared that I would never play on solo. The fog, and forrest in the background while zombies claw their way out of the ground...

@TheOliminator treyarch wasn't sure that zombies mode was going to be a big hit when they put it into world at war, so there was no storyline at the time. the storyline wasn't added or even started until Shi No Numa. Verruckt was simply zombies mode with perks and different map, no storyline yet. so no, they weren't part of the storyline.

As much as I love the zombie mode as it is now, I miss the Nacht Der Untoten type of gameplay. You could stand at a window to knife a zombie, there were no dogs, no gassers, and now insanely fast crawlers. If they remade nacht with a few more rooms and weapons, and the perk machines, that would be the best zombies ever.

Mine Von der Toten (Mine of the Dead) a gigantic labyrinth type map with 50 switchers so you could for example: block a zombie horde's pack t open a escape rout and sections of the labyrinth would rotate to create a different labyrinth.

Dschrungel der Toten (Junle of the Dead) a medium size map that would had hundreds of escape paths, and an enormous water recipient that would drop water to make a tsunami!
