Obviously the title is ironic IMO. Survival being dictated as our primary function by our DNA, is the ultimate form of objective progress for humanity. Otherwise, progress is whatever we define it to be. In this case, they are implying that the way we define progress today is unhealthy and the act of pursuing this notion of progress has endangered our survival as a species.
"Progress" is NOT the problem, innovation, understanding, technology, etc are not a problem, the human brain is not the problem, the REAL problem is the archaic social structure, that is based on Money, Hierarchy and Information manipulation among other things. We are so used to these that we are unable to fully understand the problems these generate and find it hard to imagine alternatives.
@Rickdeckard2020 You are completely right. Although, so is Roy. What i THINK he is saying- i have not seen the full documentary but hope to soon- is that our social structure defines progress as the allocation of money; which only benefits a select few and is extremely wasteful. From this video i get that he thinks we must changes our way of thinking for we do not make economy and ecology equal.
@Rickdeckard2020 You have a different understanding of progress then mainstream economics then. That's the "progress" that is mentioned in the title, I think it's meant ironically.
I am looking forward to see it. Hopefully, in those financial crisis times, it will get people reflect on our unsustainable way of life. I wish the producers would make the movie free to all everywhere, so that it reach a lot more people.

We are wasting resources and human potential.
