I forgot to mentioned that Piedmont Airlines had merged with Empire Airlines that was the full scope of all those regional carriers getting together to create the systemwide carrier USAir is today! (Mohawk-Allegheny-Piedmont-Empire-PSA)
The TWA DC-9 reminds me that in late 1998 I flew on a few of those that had manufacture dates of 1968/69. ( Doing the slow-boarding shuffle I would always check out the plate inside the doorjamb while stuck in the doorway---crews probably thought I was nuts.).
Excellent find, McDonnell220!!! That partial Braniff 707 has to be the biggest teaser of all! Boy, I wanted to see the whole jet with all that green! But y'know what...a peek is better than nothing at all..thanks for posting!
Wonderful old liveries! I remember as a kid around 1975 or so flying to the east coast on Braniff and keeping track of all the different colors I'd flown during the trip.
