  • I was kind of hoping to hear Marion Lanza!!!!!!!!!!

  • stupid

  • Absolutely beautiful. But wouldn't you think the recording engineer would have told Mario Lanza that he sang the wrong words. In the first line, he sings.."...where e'er a cloud appears in the SKY..' --- not the correct line "...appears in the BLUE". Sky doesn't rhyme with "....the right thing to DO". Lanza was supposedly very temperamental, so maybe he didn't dare. But anyway, it's still gorgeous.

  • Absolutely beautiful music. But why didn't the recording engineer tell him he got the first line wrong? Isn't is supposed to be "....where e'er a cloud appears in the BLUE" ---not what he sang, which was "....appears in the SKY". His version doesn't rhyme with "....the right thing to DO..." Anyway, it's still a gem.

  • @Totalfog he had problems with his left eye, maybe thats why he got the first line wrong? lol

  • A silver lining indeed.TY

  • Bless you for sharing this with us. We were so lucky to have had ML with us for a while and still have his music. Can't wait to see his adoring fans at the ball.

  • Thank you for your answer Balletamie For some curious coincidence your beautiful dedication of this absolutely wonderful song felt very deep inside on a younger sister of mine as if somehow it was dedicated to her although of course she knew was not She also likes very much Mr. Lanza's voice although not as much as I. Thank you again for your sweet answer

  • Well it's for all the girls named Maria, then.

  • "...and hope than those in this song's words beautifully sung..." that is what I meant in my last post

  • Hi, what's your name? Maria is Small daughter, that's the answer to your late question over the mail.

  • There is not more beauty, simplicity and hope in this song's words, beautifully sung as only Mr. Lanza knew how

  • real nice job. thanks a lot.

  • real nice job. thanks a lot.

  • Balletamie not at all and well on the contrary we, viewers, are the ones who ought to thank you so very much for the fantastic videos you have been posting in youtube.

  • I want also to congratulate you on the very detailed precious information you always add to all videos in the 'About The Video' section. Extraordinary work you do really.

  • Beautiful video and photos and a wonderful tribute to a great tenor. Congratulations for it and especially on what made your putting it in youtube

  • What a terrible first song - I had to watch with it on mute! Otherwise a great video. I feel fortunate to see some of these videos and pictures, but some of those notes by "J. F." were kind of a slap in the face to Lanza, especially the November 1952 one which is certainly not true in mine and many other's cases.

  • This is so excellent. I wish they would post this in more places. Mario led for the most part a very conservative life and was an honest and hardworking man for his family and was loved by his friends. Still he has so many thousands of fans around the world. This is a cool rock'n tribute to this song. Very creative. Maybe the new singers will listen and slow down a bit to try to enjoy their lives too.

  • You speak wise words, thank you

  • I think he was working in a bread factory or something. Yes I went to school in New York. I was raised in Staten Island and my music teacher was great he wanted us to learn everything.

  • I remember in high school my music teacher showed a movie starring Mario Lanza. I don't remeber the name but I do remember it bein g avery good movie. He was an awesome Opera Singer.

  • really at school? may be was "The great caruso". Salutti
