There is a reason why PSN have more people connected than Xbox Live, because is free. There is another reason why CCP choose PSN over Xbox Live, because is more flexible for them. So that ''dreadful online'' doesn't make sense.
This game is F2P so it will gather more players that wants something fresh and new, a revolutionary MMO game only for PlayStation 3.

How do you know that? CCP is a revolutionary Developer. It will have the support of EVE Community because is merged in that Universe, which an MMO with 8+ years, along with the Support of Sony.

The reasoning for going with Sony, is he open platform of Sony's online system that will allow Dust514 to connect to one of the EvE servers. So essentially they corner the market on PC and Console.
@TheTinxE they dont want to split the player base for EVE by putting it on PC, they want to tap into a huge player base without tapping into EVE's so PS3 is the way they went cause Microsoft didnt want to play with them on this product.

Honestly, even if this game is a Halo clone, I'll still look into it. The concept of linking it to Eve is really intriguing to me. Besides, Halo has set a lot of standards for the FPS genre, much like how Wolfenstein 3D and Doom set standards in their era. The industry has just shifted focus since those days, so the results of Halo setting standards are different than Wolfenstein 3D or Doom setting standards. That's a bit of a tangent, though. This game seems very interesting to me, regardless.
.... this is not at all like halo. I still can't see how that gun looks like an assault rifle. That tank looks no more like a scorpion than any other tank. I can kinda see the warthog in the humvee-like vehicle, but not really. Halo is all about flashy, bright colors. This is more dismal, realistic. The UI is entirely different, there is no giant blue bar for a shield and the camera views are more dynamic and not locked in place like other fps games.

@DraculeVanra It's actually NOT on Xbox, only PS3. CCP withdrew Xbox support because Microsoft wouldn't allow the server crossover that is essential to the game.

At first it was hard to develop for, but then Microsoft messed valve around telling them Left for Dead DLC cannot be released free, then portal 2 cross platform play. MS do no favours.

.... this is not at all like halo. I still can't see how that gun looks like an assault rifle. That tank looks no more like a scorpion than any other tank. I can kinda see the warthog in the humvee-like vehicle, but not really. Halo is all about flashy, bright colors. This is more dismal, realistic. The UI is entirely different, there is no giant blue bar for a shield and the camera views are more dynamic and not locked in place like other fps games.

@james65508 Dude, i hate on MAG all the damn time. But I'm always playing it and i've been there since the beginning, My favorite game still, but all the nerfing and unbalanced maps. LAG pisses everyone off from time to time too. But i truely do love the game. For the reasons you stated.

@RolyatDerTeufel I know your comment is old but i had to elaborate. PS3 will indeed ruin this game. FPS, in my opinion, should be on is hometurf at PC. But since CCP has made some shit deal with Sony.. then this game will surely have a slow start. but it will eventually come out on xbox/PC. :) Or so says "Eldar" the community manager at CCP

@Haraldur34 Why make it on PC? PC has Eve online. And this game will not be on Xbox/PC This was going Multiplatform but Microsoft aren't emersive to these types of games.
They said it had to be completely different from eve. Thats why is not on xbox. Like I said why would this need to be on PC? even if it was on pc it wouldn't make any sense because alot of people would start playing dust then eve and alot unbalencing issues.

i play PC and hate halo, haven't looked into EVE much but I'm considering it, but seriously guys, look at those tanks and jeeps and guns, its difficult to think I'm not looking at a halo trailer, but knowing that its coming from the EVE crew (to my knowledge) that will at least make it somewhat playable.

@DraculeVanra It's actually NOT on Xbox, only PS3. CCP withdrew Xbox support because Microsoft wouldn't allow the server crossover that is essential to the game.

@DraculeVanra They wanted to do an xbox version too, but Microsoft's online policies don't allow this sort of cross platform play. :( I would have bought this for xbox too, but now it looks like I'll just get it for my PS3.

@raiders7528 Dust will be exclusive to the PS3, but it doesn't mean Sony "owns Dust." They just have a deal with CCP. It could be for a limited time or for the life of the game, I haven't looked into it, but it's not Sony's decision, it's whatever CCP agreed to.

ive said all along it would be PS3 exclusive, if you go back to like page 7,8,9 I actually had an agrument with someone over it! You just have to do some research to see Microsoft's xbox 360 is not as open as the PS3 is, not being fanboyish im talking fact, y do you think Valve had a chnage of heart with the PS3
At first it was hard to develop for, but then Microsoft messed valve around telling them Left for Dead DLC cannot be released free, then portal 2 cross platform play. MS do no favours.
