The British cartoons are there to teach a lesson and as a child I was horrified but I learnt a lesson of life due to this cartoon.

Every christmas i watch this AND Father Christmas with my parents. My dad's in his 50s and my mum's in her late 40s, and I'm 16 but it's been a family tradtion since i was little. It makes me cry! I LOVE IT!

It is an iconic childrens story, almost like a right of passage. The snowman melts as summer approaches. Whether that is presented as his death i am uncertain. But winter repeats itself so maybe it is implied that he comes and goes...Or maybe im just over analyzing...

You should be able to. Just lay your voice "above" the melody and follow the original tune. That's what I did at least :)
